I live in Corinth, 30 miles north of Dallas (between Lewisville and Denton). Normally when we go to Orlando we take Airtran. Well, obviously now that will not be happening with the buy out. So now we're only stuck with using American.

I don't have anything against American its just a lot more expensive. We are going in May again (to celebrate my completion of college). I've been looking at AA's fares and they aren't that bad right now. It also helps though that I have a rewards debit card and I can convert my rewards points to $$ and use that $$ to get reduced airfare tickets. So it helps some.
well you are not far at all. My parents are moving to Frisco (off panther creek/tollway) and my sister lives there now. My old boss/friend is in prosper and heck, I am a UNT graduate, so I was in Denton for 5 years, graduated in 97 after doing the disney college program in 96. so you aren't far at all! I have some friends that live in Corinth (in fact, they are brothers and live on the same street, lol- the Salas').

i guess i've just always used american because i use it for business a lot. Did airtran fly direct? we also always try and go direct now with kids involved. if it is just adults, it isn't as bad to connect and we would do it then. i have a rewards card too and need to actually call and get a new one to have points transferred too! i think i have like $300 points built up now and hopefully many more before then. i've been putting all my business travel on my disney card! lol  hey, it helps! well we should definitely do a DFW area meet sometime!!!

Just paid off our trip in full! So happy to have that big hairy beast off my back. Now we can sit back and enjoy without having to worry at all about money. :goodvibes
woo hoo- congrats!!!:goodvibes

YUM- told my DH about this a few months ago- he loves werther's. :thumbsup2

hmm call me an idiot.. I definitely did not realize fantasmic! does not run every night!

does osborne lights at DHS run every night? and what time do they go on? we have a 745p ADR @ whispering canyon and I wanted to make sure we saw the lights! input anyone?
The Osborne lights are EVERY NIGHT. they have a little ceremony to turn them on at dusk and they go until after closing. they do play music to it, so they cycle through that every few minutes or so i think. You can just wander in and out of the area as you choose. It is most crowded right when they come on and thereafter. It is least crowded later in the night, closer to closing time or after. it is like a crazy mob scene in there at times and can be hard to get through, especially with a stroller or wheelchair. we prefer to wait until closer to closing to see it and it is so much better with fewer crowds.

61 days!!!!!:santa::santa::santa::santa::santa::santa::santa::santa::santa:

Is anyone planning to RENT A CAR? We usually do, just personal preference. I was just curious if anyone else is and if they found any good deals yet. I try and rent national, since I am emerald aisle and you just walk out and go, no counter, but i want a good deal too.

so DS saw this cute dancing mickey at Toys R Us, i think it is available this week. He was mesmerized by it!

UGHHH I am still at 74 I think.

I started packing today though. DH laughed but then said it was a good idea. It got cold here so I am putting away all the kids shorts anyway so I just grabbed 2-3 pairs for each kid and their bathing suits and put them in the suitcase. So now I don't have to dig through the million of totes that could fit a body to find anything when its time to actually pack. I just have to grab the suitcase wash everything in it and repack. I also went through my toiletry bag and packed a ziplock bag of all the samples and travel sized toiletries I have for each bathroom. So that bag is ready to go. I also started packing the kids travel bags.

Today was a productive day. Now if only Dec 17th would get here already!

I hear you! Seems like forever away!!! I did the same thing this weekend, put away the summer togs (sigh) and kept out what I'm hoping we'll be able to wear if it's warm enough!! Luckily Southwest isn't charging yet for bags, so I'll probably bring WAY too many clothes for any kind of weather! :thumbsup2

I've been so busy today I didn't even have time to check my widget on my computer :lmao:. I just now looked at it and I'm at 79 days!

WOOHOO for being in the 70s!!

That's awesome that you were an UNT grad. I'm thinking of going to grad school there. I got my AS and BA from University of Phoenix Online.

Airtran flew nonstop to Orlando but it was always a 7am flight. However, that didn't bother me cause I just wanted to get there. We would have to connect in Atlanta on the way home.

I'm going to start counting down when we get to 50 days! It will be easy to remember because we hit the 50 day mark on my birthday!:lmao:
Have a great week everyone!:cool1:

I'm going to make our countdown calendar tomorrow. DH is out of town so I need something to distract me! :)

Oh my, I'm so far behind everyone since we're going for New Year's and not the MVMCP, much less the Christmas holiday itself. I want to start a countdown calendar when we get to 2 months (still 25 days away from that!), but I'm not sure how to go about it. Any ideas?

oh I can't wait togo to DW. I jut got laid off today but I refuse not to go, that is the one thing I do every year that makes me happy.this year staying at the contemporary MKV, IS IT DECEMBER YET :santa:

Does anyone have any tips suggestions for vacationing at CSR/DW over Christmas. We will arrive on December 22 in the evening and leave the 29 we have a 5 day park hopper with dining. We will be there 6 whole days, with 1 day being reserved for time at the new HP world at Universal Studios and we plan on devoting one whole day to each park with the 6th day probably consiting of us going back to any of our favorite things. My dad and brother are also planning on going golfing most, if not all of the mornings we are there, even though after reading I'm pretty sure I will try to convince them not to go on the 24 & 25. There are four of us going: my brother who will be 16, I will be 22, and then our parents. We live in North Dakota so I am not too worried about the weather since what is considered cold down in Florida is usually pretty mild to us. This will be our second trip, with the first being spent at Carribbean Beach Resort, I actually ended up spraining my ankle right in the middle of that trip. We also went to Disney Land back in 2006 and I also suffered an ailment while there so we are all wondering what will Amanda do this time??? I am going to begin student teaching in late January/early February so this will be a nice break in between finishing my last semester of classes and that.
