wahoooo! Our airline we are flying on now charges for carry on bags unless you can fit them under the seat so we are planning on understuffing book bags and putting them under the seat. I saw Toysrus and a little mickey pull along book bag for 14.99 and you got a free lunch tote which will be good to keep some drinks cold in the parks so I just took a trip over there to get it.I figured I would go get the bag for DS's carry on bag. I just had a 20% coupon emailed to me for being part of their rewards program so I used that too..THEN when I got there I saw they had a sign up for a free pack of Kooky Toy Story pens (heres the link they r cute.. http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=4100305&type=effect&promoId=4323460 )

Didn 't think they would let me use all discounts but I thought it was worth the try.. anyway it worked! So I got the bag, lunch box and pens for $12.83 including lovely NJ tax lol! Wahooooooooo!
That's so funny! I was just sitting here reading the Toys R Us catalog I got in the mail. I saw all those freebies you mentioned and it's nice to know they allowed you to use a coupon as well. I may have to check it out!

We have been to the party 3 years in a row. I don't know if I would pay to go to the party for the ages your children are. Holiday Wishes isn't until 9:30pm.

Thank you soooo much for this info!!! We were very nervous about if our 4 and 6 yr old would be able to stay up for this, but they can definetly make it until 10p! We will just do the 815 parade. We are just not going to do any parks that day. So b/c of this wonderful info we are buying the tickets and it will be on our last nite!! I cant wait! Thank you so much!

What a great way to end your vacation!

Some words of advice. The first parade time is very popular. Generally, it's easier to find a seat along the route in Frontierland. Get there a little early to make sure you guys are settled into a spot that works for you. Also, the night goes quickly because there is so much to see and do. If there are certain shows you want to see, know in advance which ones and when. Because you may find yourself at a different end of the park, running to meet a show, and possibly miss it (it's happened to us!). So I would go in with a flexible plan of what you want to see and do and pay attention to where everything is in relation to one another.

Also, don't miss the free hot cocoa, cookies, apples, and apple juice or the dance parties!

Yay!!!!! I got a Wished Dessert Party on our first night!!! :woohoo:

Emma - if you are putting those on your list, we'll be there 12/4. :goodvibes

You are very welcome. We love MVMCP and I hope you will too.

I was just told by CM Jose Martinez that CP dining res wouldn't be available until early August... he said this was on the Disney website but I can't find anything there. Anyone have different info? :santa::santa:

The park does close to day guests at 7pm and you MUST have a seperate ticket for MVMCP, you are given a wristand and CM's will check, if you don't have one, they WILL escourt you out of the park (I have seen it done).

...These parties aren't just for kids. We didn't even ride any rides, we just went from one show to the next, and enjoyed the parade and fireworks, as well as the hot chocolate and cookies, and the snow on Main Street.

...The kids went to the different dance parties and had hot chocolate and cookies everytime they got a chance and visited many of the characters in their Christmas garb.

some days are discounted based on the dates. You can check it out here: http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/pa...ial-events/mickeys-very-merry-christmas-party. Just click on "Order tickets online" to see which dates are cheaper.

Thanks SO MUCH for posting all these great tips! I hope you don't mind... I copied them into the MVMCP Thread.

I am (with DH, DMom and DDad) on 12/6.

Hello: We have reserved 12/6 as well. We are very excited. We have never done the desert party before. We always try to do something extra special each trip. We = self, DS12, DS 8 ans DH. Enjoy!!!!

OK, I am thinking about somehow adding MVMCP. I looked and there are a lot of dates during our trip that are non-discount dates (beginning of Dec). Does anyone know if that means those are super busy party nights??

OK, I finally got around to starting my Pre Trip report. I added a link to my signature so, be sure to stop by and meet the cast of characters. I will get into more specifics in upcoming posts.

We did the dessert party at DisneyLand before but based on the pictures I've seen this looks much bigger (read: more food!). I will be happy to have a reserved spot for the fireworks, I usually avaoid the fireworks and parades becuase I don't like being in the crush of people so this works really well plus gotta love desserts! Hope you enjoy yourselves!

Quick question re: the Castle Dreamlights - is the castle lit up this way on non-party nights? I'm thinking I probably don't want to do MVMCP, but I really, really want to see the castle lit up with holiday lights.

Thanks!

yes! the castle is lit up with beautiful lights every night... the 'lighting ceremony' is performed at dusk each day (usually about 6pm), so it's also before the MVMCPs begin :santa:

Yay! :) Thank you so much - now I'm even more excited!

Trying to figure out how I can get time to move more quickly - just got under the 20 week mark but December still feels like a lifetime away...
