**Official December 2010 Thread!!** - PART 2!

Trying soooo hard to do the happy dance today, but my phone broke this morning, it's been a rough day at work, and I just found out my secret plans to get the DH to Club 33 for our anniversary won't work out. :sad1:

I keep thinking about how much we have to do before our trip, instead of how great the trip will be. Gotta get out from under the dark cloud!

WDW is only 15 days away!!!!!!!!

We got ours today too, but I was bummed that I didn't get the hologram ones. I got the same castle one as before.

Yeah we got the same castle ones too. Boo.

I need to go buy some of the suction cups with hooks. Plus I need more Lime Green Mickeys. Guess we need to make a trip to Home Depot. I'm sure DH won't mind! :lmao:

what time do you fly out?

Speaking of- any advice on what time we should depart disney for the airport on our departure day? We usually leave early or late morning, never in the afternoon. Our flight is at 6:30pm on American at MCO. WE have a national rental car to drop back off, which is pretty easy- and right there on site in the garage. It is a saturday when we depart, so no 'work' type traffic to deal with. We will check our bag at the hotel using the hotel airline check in service as well as get our boarding passes at the hotel. So we simply need to return the car, get through security and grab a snack for the plane. DH hates getting there super early, but i hate chancing it and cutting it close. what time would you leave the hotel/disney area for MCO? flight boards at 6pm, so i am thinking i want to be there at least by 4:30, to account for any long security lines. We can use the family line too which is sometime shorter. that would mean leaving the area by at least 4pm---do you think that is cutting it too close?
4:30 at least! It's been really tough since new security procedures have been put into place. Lines have been reported as long.

So, who all is planning to decorate their resort room window? I found a lighted Mickey Mouse with a Santa hat (with suction cups) at Walgreens that I couldn't resist and now I'm inspired to go for it! I need more stuff!

What are your holiday plans for your resort window?
Nothing - note the smilies in the signature! Chanukah will be over by the time I'm there. (Sorry - I just had to be a wise guy!)

Looking forward to see others' decorations, though!

I need the suction cups with hooks too. Where do you get them? I have tons of lime green Mickeys. I need some more dark green ones to balance out the red ones! I just feel kind of illicit taking fistfulls of them at a time! :lmao:

what do the hologram ones look like:confused3

I hope that I didn't cause more confusion by using the word hologram. They are old school 3-D - layered plastic that makes the images appear to move slightly. Clear plastic ties, bendable tags with the castle and balloons with the words "What will you celebrate?"

My MIL bought us a lighted Mickey/ Minnie for our window. I still want to get some snowflakes or something to put around. Does anyone know if I can use tape on the windows???

Wal-mart has a sheet of large snowflake clings for $1.

We have the light-up wreath from Walgreens, "Merry Christmas" gels and the aforementioned snowflake clings from Walmart.

Walmart also had red santa hats with tiaras for my princesses and I got lucky and found the Mickey Ears with santa hat Headbands at a different Walgreens.

I need to spread out all my pre-purchased loot and take a pic to post! I went ahead and got a $2.50 eight-inch tree with lights from Target and a $1 tube of mini-ornaments and $1 star topper. I don't have anything for the window, although you all are tempting me!
:santa:

I have not stayed at SSR since 2005. in 2008 we stayed at the Poly.. but anywho.. I remember doing dishes and such. But I thought I read on the boards that it is now all paper plates etc

Thanks. Do you think I can have Jon stand there and hold some snowflakes the whole vacation??? LOL

Great!! I know I will be there very soon!

What are your snowflaskes like? I have clear and blue plastic ones and I am going to tie them on fishing line and hang them from a suction cup hook

I have a die cutting machine that has a snowflake die. I sometimes make them for the door of my house. I think I am just gonna get clings at walmart. I have the mickey/ minnie light thing so that should be fine.

Man, I didn't know they sent any other kind than the one with the castle on it. We got those this year and had the same exact ones in '06. But those got ruined so I'm going to use the ones we got this year...

Here is the pic of the one's we got in 2004
(sorry the picture is so big I tried to size it down but it doesn't seem to be working)

I have an ADR delima...

Should we do La Hacienda dinner for Illuminations (8:30 reservation)

OR

Boma dinner before we head to Epcot?????

:confused3

I got the Boma reservation last night. They are 3 hours apart, so I don't think they will auto cancel them.... BUT, I need to decide so I can cancel the one we don't want.

We've never tried Boma and are staying at AKL. We can only choose one. Any advice??? :confused3

All I can tell you is that BOMA is my ABSOLUTE Favorite restaurant in the whole world....not just the "world" but the WORLD! We are eating there twice while we are at AKL this trip.

That's really good to hear. I've read a couple of bad reviews of LaH, so I'm thinking I should go with Boma. I've always wanted to try it, but never wanted to take the time to travel over to AKL. Since we are staying there, I'm thinking we should finally try it. We can always do the Mexican CS. :goodvibes

Just got an 820a CP reservation for our first morning at MK!!!! I am so excited!
