WOW...our trips are really getting close!!!!!! We've always gone in the HOT months, anyone have any suggestions for traveling in December that maybe I wouldn't think about? I hope everyone has a WONDERFUL trip and hope to see you there!!

As for clothing: Layering is the key in December. We've been twice at Christmas and the temps have varied. It can be warm to downright cold. You just never really know what you're gonna get in Florida in December, but I prefer December over any other month.

Our times are getting closer and closer. My friends here at work are sick of me saying. "Did I tell ya'll I'm going to Disney World??" at least once a day. They yell back to me, "How many days?" Today I said 15 days!!!
Just wanted to celebrate with you guys, we can all appreciate the excitement, unlike non disney people. (very sad there are such people )

Sounds like you work with me!! I have 15 days before I am at WDW. But we leave to spend time with family for Thanksgiving in 12 days. My fellow employees just look at me like I have gone crazy.

Don't you just love the question...."What do you do at Disney for so many days?"

25 days to go here! We just got back from a long weekend in Naples, the weather was beautiful, hope it stays like that for our Disney trip to see Mickey.

I was getting more and more excited until I discovered that the cheerleaders are going to be at Disney Dec 7-13!? I was kinda looking forward to less crowds, and about cried when I heard. How many? How do you find out their schedule, so we can work around? I was fine with mousefest, but mousefest and cheerleader convention The only info I know is allears tip was HS would be closed evening of Dec 10th for cheerleaders/families. What to do, what to do.... someone please tell me I'm over reacting. Its just with 3 kids, esp the 2 yr old, I sure wasn't expecting this.

Count me in! We leave in 27 Days!!! We'll be at CBR 12/10 - 12/14. DS7 and DD4 have no clue! We are surprising them! We are still trying to find the perfect way to spring the surprise. I have watched all the youtube videos, but we still haven't come up with our plan yet. We thought about just picking them up from school with the bags packed! Anyway....27 days and counting and I hope to see some Mickey heads!!

I think its....... 28 days for us?? We have a road triip (7-8 hrs_ before flying down)

SO excited that I cry at the thought!!! We have a 3 and 4 yr old and this is our FIRST trip to DW! WE LOVE and live for our family vacations. We are all together, no work no tv and chaos...just talking and playing games and enjoying one another. OMG I CAN"T WAIT!!!!

WE are a one income family, and we get by fine, we do without some things and enjoy other things (like eating out which is bad*Slaps hand*) So this is just a HUGE feat for us to be able to afford this, and at that our FAVORITE time of year...CHRISTMAS! I LOVE Christmas. It's so magical to begin with, add the Magic of DW and Im TEARS!! Happy and it's just so touching we can give this to our kids. I never had these oppurtunities as a child. So it's just happiness all the way around here.

DH is finally getting excited too!! YAY! I have been talking about it so much for so long, so finally he is feeling what Im feeling!

DS's birthday party is Dec 6th... the weekend before we go away. We are ordering Pizza. I usually cook up a feast...but not this time!! lol

I love hearing about your guys' Thanksgiving. Im Canadian and we had ours last month. But for months I have been saying after Thanksgiving in the States is a perfect time to go to DW! AND IT"S FINALLY HERE!!! WOOT!!!!!!

Ok, too much rambling... Its just so nice to have an outlet to plug in our entusiasm!! My friends and family are a little jealous so I try to limit my time of DW talk.

I remember reading somewhere the parents showing up at the kids' school in a limo telling them they need to go home and pack their suitcase because the next day they were going to fly to DW. I always thought that was cute!
My friend from NY just went for Halloween and she didn't tell her 5 and 4 yr old until they were on the plane!!! They were able to get the pilot to tell them. I thought that was neat too.

Get them to do a project of some kind of DW...if you have never been... so they are firmiliar. They will develop a 'need' to go and then tell them in a few days they are going!

Anyway you do it, Im sure it will be perfect to them!

I told our 3 and 4 year old (well soon to be 3 and 4) in the spring! They are still sort of young to get it anyway. But as we are starting to pack for DW they are getting it that we are coming close to the date to vacation (they know that vacations are fun...so they are just excited to go on vacation!) Bonus that it's DW!!

I'm wondering about footwear. I hear that Dec is perfect Capris weather, so I will bring some of those. But Im wondering about footwear. We have crocs. And Im fully aware that we should wear socks with them. Is this advisable? I have sneakers as well (of course)...would those be better?

We will be pushing the kids in strollers if this matters.

this is what *I am planning. I'll wear my slip on sneakers on the plane and pack my crocs and also my teva sandals. The later two are more comfortable than my sneakers but I feel as if I should have my sneaks. wear them on the plane cause they are the heavier/bigger shoe.

If it is cool enough I will wear socks with either the crocs or the tevas. if it's warm, no socks! maybe i'll just pack the socks in my day bag just in case

I wear my Crocs flip flops even in cold weather. I don't always wear my regular Crocs with socks, especially if I am wearing capri's, I do if I am wearing jeans and it is cold outside. I hope you plan to bring something warmer than capris as well, because it has been colder down south than normal this year.

You know what you feel more comfortable wearing. I bring a variety of Crocs with me, I can't stand sneakers anymore or anything on my heel for that matter.

You're overreacting

I can only share my experience with Pop Warner. I too wa there one early December and was staying at the values with them. Other than a lot of girls practicing their cheers at random spots throughout the hotels public areas, they did not bother me. Made the counter service area of the All Stores busier but the parks were fine. I would choose that time of year again if it worked for my schedule.

the final countdown 36 days.....man started at 136 days hard to believe it is almost here. i have so much to do i am always a last minute planner i wait and wait then freak out and then it always seems to come together. so hard to get anything done at work except thinking what a great christmas this is going to be... hope everyone has good safe trips and a magical time.

Oh yes!! I will have sneakers! We are flying out of Maine (we live in Atlantic Canada) where we SHOULD be wearing boots by that time. ANd big heavy jackets, but the boots and jackets are not coming with us no matter how cold it is at 430am when we have to be at the airport!!

I mention socks because I don't want sweaty feet or blisters from any rubbing. Ankle socks I assume.

Oh yes, I will have every type of clothing that you can think of. lol Jeans, gym pants, jean shorts, skorts, capris, spaghetti strap tank, tshirts, long sleeves, and hoodies. I live in an area where it's HOT in the summer and COLD (and I mean COLD!) in the winter. So I have a little of everything and I guess, based on recomendations, I should bring everything.

Yes, you're overreacting.

Most of the Pop Warner kids (including the cheerleaders) will be at the Wide World of Sports Complex during the day. At night, they're usually at their resorts (All Star Sports and Music, or Port Orleans Riverside) practicing for the next day. They really have very little impact on park crowd levels.

Yeah, only 24 more days to go!!!! We also just found out we are pregnant....don't get me wrong we are totally excited, just puts a little damper in the riding department. Oh well, hopefully I won't get to bored.
