Official December 2008

We'll be there December 8-16, one night at ASMo, then we move to CSR for 7 nights. It's our first family vacation to WDW (DH, me, DS 9, DS 5, MIL, BIL).:thumbsup2

We can hardly wait!:santa: :yay: :santa: :yay: :santa:

I hope it isn't too crowded, but all those "What's going on in December? Why can't I book a room? Everything is booked solid!" threads are making me nervous.:scared:

Pop Warner football teams and cheerleaders will be there 12/7-12/13. That's why the values are booked. Then there's Mousefest.

Ahhhhh ok then! As long as hey aren't a rowdy bunch :upsidedow We aren't into sports, i don't know anything about those teams.

Does anyone know how this affects the parks? And do they mostly stay at the All Stars? Will it make it super crowded?? Thanks! This is our first Holiday trip so I'm worried!!:scared1:

All 23 members of my family (7 families) will be there 7th - 13th and MVMCP the 9th. 4 of the families are first timers so it will be an unforgettable experience for them especially during the holidays. Staying off site. Sooo excited. See you all there!

Looks like we have the makings for a REALLLLY BIIIIG DisMeet at the MVMCP on December 9 ... :jumping1:

So we are going to be DIS party central on the 9th wohooooo.Hopefully some of the more experienced DISers will be able to give us newbies tips on how to make the most of that night.:santa:

Is anyone else concerned about Dec 7-13 with all the Pop Warner craziness? This is our first time at WDW in Dec so didn't know anything about it. We thought this week would be perfect because it's concidered a "slow" time. We've had this trip planning for over a year and now I'm kinda worried now after reading all the previous activites that have gone on during this time. I need someone to reassure me that it will be ok. :scared1:

I'm never concerned about Pop Warner, because I've never encountered any problems with them. Of course, I don't stay in the same resorts they're in...and I believe that is where you're likely to run into issues with them. If you're in the AS resorts, or Pop, or POR/FQ (not sure about CBR, but they weren't in CSR to any degree), you'll probably encounter them on the buses and food courts, and in the walkways outside your rooms.

I have only seen small groups of them in the parks during the daytime. I avoid PM EMH when they're about. So, if you aren't staying in their resorts, and you avoid p.m. EMHs, you may never see them.

Thanks for the post--can you tell me what EMHs are? I'm new to the board and not caught up with the lingo. I'm staying off-site so depending on what EMHs are I'm starting to feel a little better--thanks again

EMH = Extra Magic Hour. It's basically extra time in the parks for those staying onsite. Since you aren't you have nothing to worry about with those.
