Official December 2008

**180 + 10 day rule for Disney Resort guests**

From October 28th, 2005, a new rule applies for those staying at a Disney Resort-
Guests staying at a Disney owned Resort (excludes Swan, Dolphin and Downtown Disney hotels) can call 180 days before their check-in date and make Advanced Dining Reservations (ADRs) for up to 10 days after their check-in date. You will need your resort reservation number in order to do this.
If you cancel your resort reservation, you must call WDW Dining and cancel any ADRs that required credit card deposit.
The old rule of 180 days from each day you want to make ADRs still applies to guests staying at non-Disney owned hotels and offsite hotels.

Ok I just wanted to make sure I had the right idean and they hadn't changed it!;)

:cool1: Woo hoo! :cool1: Booked my ADR's this morning!

Today was my 180 day - and I've been anxiously looking forward to this. I even had castles in all my dreams last night! So I got up early, got ready early and got the kids ready for school early. We have to leave the house at 7:30am for school and I assumed I'd still be on the phone at that point - so I wanted to have everyone ready to go before 7am.

Around 6:56am (according to my cell phone) I started calling and hitting redial. About 6:58am, DD5 starts puking all over the place!!! As I helped her into the bathroom, with the phone in one hand - the recording said "Thank you for calling Disney Dining" and I was on with a real person. :scared1:

We did fine - I asked for CRT first and got breakfast the day I wanted! I asked for the earliest time she had. She started to say 8:10 then said "nope, sorry, I can give you 8:20". That's fine with me. I also got the first seating at Akershus for the day I wanted as well.

I was booking some large parties and had to compromise on some of the times that I wanted, but I got them anyway.

Hope everyone else is having good luck with their ADR's!

Oh, and I can confirm the 180+10 rule. I asked for CRT on what is 184 days from today - she asked when we were checking in and asked for my Res #. Once she had all that - no problem to book all my ADR's today.

Just got off the phone after booking our ADRs.

Started calling around 6:58 doing the hang up and redial thing and then at 7 straight through to Tracy (CM & my new bestfriend!!) Didn't have to sit on hold at all...I can't believe it!!

Got everything I wanted for the times I asked except for CRT which I had to take a whole half hour earlier (darn - insert sarcasm here  )

Now I definitely need a coffee. :coffee:

Ok, ok - whats the hang up & redial thing? Need to know that one for next time. I was on hold for a looonnnggg time.

Got 'em!

Same thing - started calling early & hitting redial. I was on hold for about 20 minutes. :surfweb:

Got a very nice man, who was laid back and chatted a bit with me. When he heard it was the 18th trip, he knew I meant business.

I start with Le Cellier - earliest possible for lunch please. Then he says, "Oh. The earliest is 8:15pm." Umm. ok. How about this other day. "Same thing." To which I say "There are no lunches available at all?!" He said "Oops - I thought you wanted dinner." :faint: He apologized for my early morning heart attack and we started over. Here's what I got :goodvibes

[Perhaps they are holding the dinner spots at Le Cellier for the CP package?]

Monday, Dec. 8 - Liberty Tree at 11:30am
Tuesday, Dec. 9 - 50's Prime Time at 1:35pm (I wasn't thinking straight so I'll need to change this to a later time, as I want to get in American Adv. before going to HS. We're staying at BCV, so it's a close hop.)
Thursday, Dec. 11 - Le Cellier at 12:15pm
Friday, Dec. 12 - Trail's End at 6pm

We used to do more ADRs, but trying to actually not run ourselves into the ground on this trip. We'll also do a couple of breakfasts at YC & BW, but I pretty much refuse to make breakfast reservations. I am NOT a morning person and hate to be rushed in the morning (unless it's to get to rope drop).

The call took about 15-20 minutes and the confirmation numbers had a difference of 138 from start to finish.

Breathing a sigh of relief. And thanks to those who booked yesterday for not taking all of the reservations. :worship:

Did my ADR's today waited about 15 minutes, so I am very happy. I had to move Cinderellas Royal Table since they where sold out for the 8th.

Is anyone else going anywhere between December 22 and 27th? We would really like to met some othe DISSERS!

Ok, ok - whats the hang up & redial thing? Need to know that one for next time. I was on hold for a looonnnggg time.

I started about 6:58 and was getting the "we are closed" spiel...just keep hanging up and hitting redial. Then a little after 7 (by my computer's clock) suddenly a voice answered. I had been listening for the "we are experience high number of calls" and to be put on hold...so I actually took a couple of second to answer her and was pretty flustered...the CM just laughed, I think she thought I was a little nuts. Oh well she's not the first one to think it.

We are going to be at POR on 12-1 through 12-8! Does anyone have a suggestion for which MVMCP would be least crowded, we are flexible with dates (12-2, 12-4, 12-7) Thanks again!

You're welcome!!:lmao:

I got everything I needed yesterday - include 9 people at CRT for lunch!! (that was the biggie - 3 little princesses were counting on me - though they don't know it ... ;) ...)

You can read all about my "ADR morning" at my PTR (see the sig below ...) It was not exactly what I had in mind ... :duck:

Congrats to all for making your ADRs!!

And for my fellow Dec 9 MVMCPers (MCMVPians? MCMCPoers? ... :rotfl:) we should start thinking about a DISmeet and scaring a Photopass photographer once all our ADRs are made for that night ...

we'll be there Dec 2nd - 19th staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge. I am so excited. I just don't know how i will cope waiting till then.:faint: :faint: :faint:

Hi DISers -

My family are going for our very first Disney Christmas this year. DH, DS x3 (14, 12 & 7) and lil ole me......

We are staying at SSR - obviously we will not be doing MMVCP (??) since I think the last day is the 21st (?) - I am ok with that.

I have my calendar set up to "remind" me to start making my phone call for our ADR - DH & I have been wokring on a spreadsheet with where we want to eat and the days we would LIKE to do things (I am taking a huge stab at the whole flexibity of it all) -

DH & I have not been to Disney in 2 years for the kids it has been 2.5 years - we have been saving our DVC points for this - ( and of course money)

Questions: (for the professional Chirstmas Disney goers)

1) Is it really as terrifyingly crowded as I keep hearing?

2) Are ADR's impossible to get (or terrifyingly difficult at best)?

3) Should I invest in the TGM or stick with the UGTD plans?

4) How flexible do you really have to be?

5) If we do not get to a certian park at opening is there a GREAT chance we wont get in at all?

6) In the end is it all truly worth doing - Christmas at Disney?

I know I have many more questions - I suppose the bottom line is we have been to Disney LOTS of times and have had the fortune to experience almost everything we have wanted - and we usually went in November during the SLOOOWWWW time - so I am trying to gather as much imput as possible on how to make this as successful as possible compared to our past experiences....

Thank you all for all you do!!!

Cheers!!!

Janet

Hi there, we'll be at POR the same exact dates! We are doing MVMCP on the 2nd for two reasons...I was told tuesday would be less crowded, and I think the Thursday party is more expensive, but not sure? Also we thought it would be a nice beginning to our vacation, get us all in the holiday spirit for the rest of the week.:santa:
I can't wait to get my santa ears...wonder if I can order those ahead of time? My dh will think I'm even crazier if I wear them around before we go!! :rotfl2:

I finally got all of my ADR's set with my TA, what does everyone think? (and keep in mind I have a very meat and potatoes family)

12/2 LTT lunch (we wanted dinner before MVMCP but it was sold out already)
12/2 MVMCP
12/3 Kona for dinner
12/4 The boys will do the Bayou Pirate Adventure at POR
12/4 Teppan Edo for dinner (we wanted LeCellier, but the only opening they had for 6 was at 9:10pm...not going to work with two children, plus we'd miss Illuminations)
12/6 Sci-Fi for lunch
12/7 Boma for breakfast (can't wait!!)
12/7 Wilderness Canyon Cafe for dinner
12/8 Chef Mickey's for breakfast

I'm so excited....and I just can't hide it... (I know...I should be embarassed...) :yay:

Hiya!!! My mother, brother, and I will be at Fort Wilderness from Dec. 18 'till Dec. 28!!!! :santa:  This is our first Christmas trip to the World ,and we're heading down to Orlando on the 17th which happens to be my brother's 15th birthday!
