Official Dancing with the Stars Season 7 Thread!

I also had to giggle when they showed Brooke's husband (or boyfriend?) sobbing like a little baby. Full out chin quivering! Yes, the dance was sweet, but the full on tears were a little much for me. After she won he was standing there like, Brooke, aren't you going to make it over to me and give me a hug or kiss?

LOL, I noticed that too. He looked a little dejected, especially when she was up on Corky's shoulders......

I am assuming that only the cast was aloud on the dance floor because I didn't see any family members come out. I think they could at least make an exception for the winner's family though!

However, I don't get why everyone has such a problem with Lacey, when Derek is just as bad. He was cutting Brooke off left and right last night and making the whole moment about him. I don't blame them though, in many cases I think the pros are bigger celebrities than their partners and they do the show season after season. Of course they want to win badly. Edyta must be dying for a Trophy after 7 straight seasons. Going forward it is going to be very interesting to see this show develop now that the pros are such larger than life personalities.
I was real excited to see Lacey join the show. She adds something to it that the others don't have though Cheryl is still my favorite.

Wonder if Derek will be still participate next season after all the back problems he's been having.

It would be nice for Edyta to get a really good partner. Does anyone remember her track record?

Derek didn't seem to have much pain judging on the type of stunts he did during the freestyle with Brooke. I would think her jumping into his arms from the judges table would be totally off limit if there was a serious problem.

Edyta had Jason Taylor last season, right? He was a pretty good partner and I think football players have had pretty good success on the show. I just think her style of choreography is just not conducive to winning the whole thing.

I looked Edyta up on Wikipedia....she has had some good ones and some duds:

Evander Holyfield (5th), George Hamilton (5th), Joey Lawrence (3rd), John Ratzenberger (6th), Cameron Mathison (5th), Jason Taylor (2nd).

THIS show is about popularity. IIRC you always liked the other dance shows better. So ... where should we go now that DWTS is finished?

Think you have the wrong person. This is the only dance show I watch. I've tried watching another one and didn't care for it.
I like the ballroom dancing much better than street dancing or hip hop.

I hate that Derek won. I think it will go to his head, and he will become so self-centered that no one will be able to stand him next season:sad2: :sad2:

That's very possible. He already seems a bit cocky anyway even though I do like him.

Derek is already a Latin Champion, he is confident in his abilities. I think he is sure of himself and if he come off as cocky, well that is how others see him. I think he will be back next season.

If he isn't, he can still come to my house for a long visit.

Her worse was John Ratzenberger I thought we was one of the better dancer of all of the seasons

Did anyone else have problems voting for Lance and Lacey the other night? When I'd finally get through, I'd get dead air for a few seconds, then it would start ringing again. Once it picked up, I got a message saying the number was out of service. I got this many times. I probably called in 30 times before I actually got the message thanking me for voting for Lance and Lacey. Very strange. I know I was calling the right number because I just kept hitting redial. I wonder if that discouraged some people from continuing to try to vote.

No i was having some problems with it being dead air before even getting a message. i couldn't get texts to go through on my mom's phone.

Did anyone catch what Lacey said. When Tom asked if she wanted to say anything to Lance? She said something along the lines of thank you , you got me here.
like it was all about her! I liked them all along but that irritated me when she did that,

I caught that when Lacey said that- lame!

I'm pleased with the outcome- I think the best overall dancers won. Personality wise I liked Warren better than Brooke, but she was a better dancer. And Derek totally 100% deserved it- that guy is AMAZING.:cool1: :worship:

I definitely thought that Lacey was way over the top with her comments - defintely all about her. I'm not sure how old she is, but she comes across as really immature (particularly when compated to Julianne who started on the show very young).

I also have to say that while I do think that Derek is very talented, and I think he and Brooke deserved to win, the pros who have won in the past and seemed to drop back more for the majority of the spotlight to be on the "star". Last night was different. As a previous poster commented, it was as much (possibly more) on Derek and it was on Brooke.

Overall, I didn't enjoy the show this much as last year. I think they reached for gimmicks too much (Cloris, etc.), and that's not what I watch for. This is the first year that I'm kind of glad it's over. ;)

Monday nights just aren't the same now. :sad2: LOL

Does anyone know when the next season starts? Will there be one in early 2009, or do they only run in the fall??

They didn't announce yet. After the final decision, they usually announce it. So we need to wait more time.

Maybe the show was rigged? Brooke was clearly the chosen one.

What did Lacey say? I was unable to watch the finale.

Edyta's s1~s7 partners were :

s1 Evander Holyfield (5th), s2 George Hamilton (5th), s3 Joey Lawrence (3rd), s4 John Ratzenberger (6th), s5 Cameron Mathison (5th), s6 Jason Taylor (2nd), s7 Jeffrey Ross (13th) + Cody Linley(4th, as a temp partner)

season1 Evander Holyfield : Had huge, heavy feet. After US DWTS season1, he participated with other UK pro partner in UK Christmas special DWTS version(Stritly Come dancing) but he finished the last place. The partner was the 2006 series Stritly Come dancing champion but she couldn't save him from the last place finish.

season2 George Hamilton : an age difference(more than 40 years older than her) and had broken 4 ribs.

season3 Joey Lawrence : good at standard but not good enough and stiff at Latin but had improved a lot as judges complimented him.

From the start, Mario(2nd place) was already much better, more natural dancer than all the other contestants in that season. Emmitt Smith(1st place) had much bigger fan base and especially good at Latin from the start.

The fact that he's nearly of the same height with Edyta didn't help their partnership. Joey L was the shortest partner of her 8 partners. Even Cody Linley, Apolo Ohno are taller than him. Edyta's one of the tallest female pro in DWTS.
So I can't say Joey L was her good partner(match) because physical appearance match is also really important in ballom dance and people want to see(vote) the great partnership(couple, match).

season4 John Ratzenberger : an age difference(more than 30 years older than her) and so out of shape. And he also had improved a lot as judges complimented him, so he ended the competition decently, respectably.

season5 Cameron Mathison : Like Susan Luccie, his first priority was 'All my children' acting job. Due to his first priority, Cameron & Edyta had to fly to New York every week and couldn't have enough rehearsal time.

He finished 2nd of men contestants. 1st was Helio. From the start Helio was already much natural, better dancer than him. He was too stiff and had a problem of musicality but he had improved a lot. Judges also admitted openly that he's the most improved one in that season.

But that's not good enough in this competition. Other contestants were much more committed than him in that season and his lack of commitment was shown in many ways and many people didn't like him frequently complaining about his hectic schedule.

season6 Jason Taylor : is 6'6". At first judges didn't expect him that much because of his height. but showed the best partnership with Edyta. He's never danced before and he even confessed that he's scared to dance at first but after partnership with Edyta, he became to love dancing.

He finished 1st of men contestants. Kristi Yamaguchi won and she got the highest scores(*season total scores, average scores) of all series DWTS contestants from judges. By judges scores, Kristi is the best dancer of all series DWTS contestants.

season7 Jeffrey Ross : When you watch his final quickstep performance, you can see his improvement even though he's not a dancer.

Cody Linley : Edyta helped him to go to semi final for 2 weeks as his temp partner.

'Dancing with the Stars' hosts Tom Bergeron and Samantha HarrisOn the heels of announcing three new dramas for its spring lineup, ABC has also booked the return of its biggest show -- which will presumably help deliver viewers to a couple of those new shows.
