'Official Dancing With the Stars' Celebrity and Professional Pairs Revealed!

 I'll have to go back and look again. I didn't think most of them with the bad remarks looked happy. I just thought she looked disappointed. I assumed (yes, I know what they say about that :)) she was disappointed in herself. But then, I'm not trained in much of anything for reading people. I just felt bad for her (and a couple other's) that they worked so hard, and didn't pull it off like some of the others did.

I have to admit that I did feel a bit sorry for Kate in her pre-story. They made her look really awful, having Tony accuse her of not wanting to be there.

I do think the show was not exactly being subtle in their effort to portray her in a bad light. When you look back at the stories, she was the only one they really portrayed negatively. They did lots of shots of her scowling while practicing with Tony and then made it a focus of her practice clip.

It could be that she saw that clip before she went on and was justifiably ticked that she was being picked on.

I have to say I really like all three judges, for different reasons. :thumbsup2

Oh, I do as well, like all three. I did think Bruno was just more than his usual hyper-ness last night AND ITA about Len, he did seem, umm, maybe it was that he was tired, as Tom mentioned, but Len did not seem to like many of the performances. :confused3

As far as the dancers receiving criticism ... they would all have had to been living in a cave if they did not expect criticism, good or bad. They have 3 professional judges critiquing all their moves ... they had to realize that they possibly would hear judgments they would not like or agree with ... it is all about being a part of DWTS. And their partners probably all preached to them during their weeks of rehearsals as to what the judges would and would not like.

I'm just now watching (worked late last night) and I was wondering the same thing. I normally HATE shows like this because of the cheesy judges and their comments that are obviously designed just to evoke audience response, but I watched to see how she did (and Evan Lysacek). I'll probably keep watching until they're eliminated and then no more. What was with the grouchy old man? He reminded me of Dick Button during past Olympic figure skating competitions.

And Pamela Anderson? GROSS.

I'm sure they all knew there would be criticism, but it must still hurt when you think you did a great job. I remember when I learned to ski as an adult..I thought I did a great job. I got down the hill without falling. Then the teacher brought me back to reality and told me everything I had done wrong, in front of the class. I thought I had done a great job LOL...I didn't fall LOL (he said among other things, I went so slow, I'd prob freeze on the way down on a big hill)! I actually wanted to cry, since I thought I did good! Looking back, I realize that that was what he was supposed to do..so I would do it better the next time (I still ski very slow and my family always leaves me in the dust..or the snow).

I hope they all do better next week, if for no other reason, than to prove to the judges that they listened and that they can do better.

Ahhh ... great story about your skiing experiences, DM! :thumbsup2 And your teacher saying you "went so slow you probably would freeze on the way down." but also :rotfl2:

I am glad that no one goes home the first night of DWTS. ::yes:: They will all improve for sure. They will probably watch clips of their performances last night and go from there.

Len can get cranky, I loved when Tom said not to mind Len, he hasn't been up this late in 3 months! I like Len though, his comments are interesting but he's pretty old school and wants classic rumbas, cha-cha's and waltzes. He always gets put out when they stray from that.

Ok, how happy were you to see Vienna in the audience cheering Jake on?:laughing:

 (Where'd the puking smiley go?)

I thought Ochocinco was BETTER than Erin by a long shot and they applauded her! I thought she danced like a pony just learning how to walk!!

Erin better then Ocho? Child, please! ;) (any Ocho/Bengals fan will get that!)

I see there is no Edyta love on this thread but the girl is gorgeous!:lovestruc Wow!

X and G's mom said:
3. JAKE NEEDS TO GO! I cannot stand watching Vienna's mug anymore! I've had enough of her!
:laughing:I want him gone for this reason alone!

I fell asleep before Pamela Anderson danced. My husband watched though just for the "entertainment" factor. Not a flat chested girl in sight.

Was he waiting for a wardrobe malfunction? :rolleyes1

Is Brooke umm, bigger than she was before. Pamela was actually dressed in comparison to seeing Brooke's cleavage all night.

poor edyta i fear she will be gone first agin, maybe aiden can do better with the ballroom dance. and why oh why would they make buzz do a cha cha??? i loved that tim allen was there cheering him on!

Edyta deserves to go if she can't dress properly. I'm no prude but this is a family show and she sleazes up the whole show. :sad2: Does it never occur to her that maybe she's booted off for how she dresses? :sad2:

I swear, I bet last season Donny Osmond privately told the producers that if they paired him up with Slutinsky, he wouldn't be able to do the show. :p

As for Buzz doing the cha-cha. I bet they thought the cha-cha might have been in style in his youth and he may have actually danced it back then. So it would only be a matter of getting him to remember the steps. They should have given him a nice, slow waltz.

DH watched with us for the first time last night. And he watched solely because he was waiting for something to "pop out". :lmao: He took one look and said "Wow, there's not a real one in sight!" :rotfl: :rotfl:

Went and looked up some sites that sold ballroom dresses and there are several on the two sites listed that aren't that far off from what Edyta wears. I know from some of the actual pro competitions that we have watched, skimpy is the name of the game when it comes to dresses in the Latin division.

And for all you die hard DWTS fans, don't know if you have ever seen this site or not, but it was really neat looking back at the dresses. And some of the asking prices - WOW!! Would love to know what some of them actually sold for.

I am in the minority here. I like Edyta and her skimpy attire does not bother me. And I just adore her husband, what's his name, Dmitry?

Went over to the ABC website and watched Pamela dance. Hmmmm, she will be around for awhile I bet but not for her dancing.

I thought that the judges were not very consistant. They scored some of the later dancers higher than they should have. The first two dancers did just as well and got lower scores. But I'm just an armchair critic......

Len's crankieness does not bother me. They all get that way from time to time.

Boy! Are Shannon's ankles tiny or what!

Her dance did seem uncontrolled on her part. I caught the couple of times she was out of sinc with Mark.

I have never liked the two colored shoes that the girls sometimes wear. They draw so much attention to their feet.

Aiden looked like a frog dancing.

I shouldn't insult Kermit.

Kermit actually has grace & can dance.

Edyta elbowed him twice! I caught one but didn't see the other. Aiden looked like he was about to kiss her on the mouth at the end but Edyta swerved to the right and caught it on the cheek.

Oh, I enjoyed Evan and Anna's jive! And Len was right, something was wrong with his feet and the sneakers called attention to it.
