Took the DD's up to the old Alma Mater on Saturday to see the Gators.
I love college towns.
Anybody care for some photos?
There are so many great traditions at the University of Florida. A new one was started by Coach Urban Meyer when he came to town. It is called the Gator Walk. The team walks into the stadium two hours before each game. It gives the fans a chance to see the players, and the players an opportunity to feel appreciated.
Here is one of my DD's waiting for the Gator Walk to start:
Here is the coach himself:
We thought this was Percy Harvin, but after looking closer at the photo, I don't think so:
Here is a real live Heisman trophy winner in the flesh!:
One of my DD's got a handshake from him! (almost as good as the Jonas Brothers). . .
Some shots of us having some fun before entering the stadium:
Do all college campuses have Hare Krishnas? They have always had a presence at UF. I swear some of these same guys were chanting on campus back when I attended 20+ years ago:
Here we are inside the stadium:
Before the game, they honored the seniors, and a fellow that goes by the nick name "Mr. Two Bits," He has led the "Two Bits" cheer at Florida games for 60 years (since 1949)! Here he is running onto the field:
Tim Tebow warmed up right in front of us!:
Even though this was kind of an "off" game, the attendance was over 90,000:
This was an exciting play. Tim Tebow lined up as a receiver (you can see him on the line at the bottom of this photo), and Percy Harvin took a direct snap. Harvin first ran right, then reversed and ran left. Tebow threw a block, and Harvin scored:
Go Gators!
