I just got off the phone with CRO booking our trip and the gentleman from Houston who helped told me to keep my eyes open for the free dining promotion to be offered during that time frame!! (We are going the last week of August through Labor Day weekend)

He couldn't say when it would be offered but he was "confident" that it would!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is my first post! But if free dining is offered during August I will extend my disney part of the vacation an extra day! (August 16th-23rd 3 nights JW marriott/Universal 4 nights at... well we'll see how my savings are going!)

If the "free dining" would be offered to (1) Disney Visa holders and also (2) open to the public, when do you think the offer would begin? I did read the the "bounce back" offer was 8/5 and the UK offer was 8/12.

We were there in November and little did I know the woman and kids would want to go in Aug or I would have booked a couple of rooms with the "bounce back" program and have the dining already. Now i have to sit and wait. Will we have it or will I be eating sandwiches. Only time will tell.

I was there in November, too. I did not really know about the details of the bounceback program. Had I, I would have booked a return trip in August. So Now I am waiting every day - patiently.

I just booked a GG and the woman on the phone said she is "almost certain" they will offer it again....Disney did so great on the promotion last year!

I can't handle the waiting.....ahhhhhhhh!!!!

But it is all worth it in the end...especially since we are a group of 14 with a possibility of adding 7 more!!

When free dining was offered, could you add it to an existing reservation or is it only available at certain resorts and room levels?

If was offered at all resorts/levels with the exception of the ASMu suites last year . Yes you can add it to an existing ressie--well actually they cancel your ressie that you have if you already have one then create you another with the free dining. They have certain numbers of rooms at the individual resort--I have read somewhere that it depends on the % of availability that they have during that time and base the number of rooms that they are going to have available with the free dining on that percentage. So technically it sort of hurts the number of rooms that will be available (if they do indeed offer free dining) by getting a ressie now--in the hopes of them adding free dining--better to just wait and see if they offer it and then get it. I mean--if there are tons of ressies in place that are waiting for free dining plan to be offered then they will look at their availability and say well there is no reason for us to offer it our bookings are up with out it. Just an observation:

I recall last year, Disney VISA holders were given the "Free Dining" promotion in February, before it was announced to the general public in March. I wonder if this will hold true for this year as well. That is, if they offer free dining, again.
I'll be looking forward to my February bill to find out! Cross your fingers Disney VISA holders!

I too am also hoping for free dining. If not free dining a great room discount that will offset the dining cost.
