OFFICIAL CARS LAND, BUENA VISTA STREET, ETC., SUPER THREAD! (Updated Daily+)

I am definitely interested in any reviews from wheelchair users. I am hearing that the main attraction. Queues are NOT accessible and that we have to use the exit. This is MASSIVELY disappointing. Despite reviews this is NOT similar to Toy Story Marina as at that ride guests are not separated until shortly before riding. I do not Wang to miss the attraction queue and I really do hope these early reports are wrong!!!

From what I saw, all of the lines are wheelchair accessible. Halfway through the queue there is a little gate that you go through, and it has a picture illustrating that the person has to transfer out of the chair to the car.

We will have have a blog with pictures showing how the queues are, as well as the loading onto the ride vehicles, probably by tomorrow.

I would love to know if they have a plush Sally in the stores.

I didn't see one yesterday, but I will look tomorrow.

Just watched the Dis video of Carsland and it's all kinds of awesome :goodvibes!!! No spoliers really regarding the attractions but very detailed regarding the land itself. I just can't wait to visit this, honestly! It's wierd too because I haven't even seen the film however I will now, and very soon :)!

Here's the link to the vid. Corey or Dustin did an amazing job! :goodvibes

I'm not going to post any photos directly in this thread, so I won't spoil anything for anyone.

But...since Saturday night (6/9/12 - the day that I did the AP preview at 8 a.m.) - I have been posting photos in my Trip Report thread. (In fact, I interrupted my already-delayed December 2011 TR to post Cars Land and Buena Vista Street pictures:rotfl: - gotta strike while the iron is hot, you know!) I have many, many more to post. I took pictures of everything I could squeeze in - including some merchandise, light fixtures, architecture, hidden gems and a hidden Mickey in one of the hoods at Ramone's. I didn't really do a 'report' to speak of, and I doubt I could provide anything new that Nancy hasn't already provided, but I gave my opinions and overall observations of some of the cool details.

If you are interested in seeing what I've already posted and what I will continue to post today, here is the link (which should take you to Page 180 of my TR; then go to Post #2695):

CARS LAND MANIA (and Buena Vista Street too)! Cars Land/Buena Vista Street photos start on Page 180/Post #2695

Sorry if this was already posted, but Good Morning America is going to do something involving Cars Land on Thursday. Don't know if it's live or a pre-taped segment, but I'm sure it'll be worth watching either way.

We're hitting Cars Land the morning of Friday, July 6th. We want to ride RSR twice that day if possible.

I imagine RSR will be a lot like TSM in WDW... a massive FP line right at opening. For that scenario, I was always the runner, joined the family in the also-massive standby line before they even entered the building.

In regards to RSR FP, it's just DS6 and myself so we won't have any runners. So, I'm debating what we should do:

Option One: go standby first thing and then grab FPs... or
Option Two: grab FPs first, then jump in the standby line?

Opinions?

We will visit DL for the first time in Sept. I'm looking for maps that include Buena Vista Street and Cars Land, but no such luck! From the official DL site I was able to print the DL map expanding across three pages. Where/when/how can I find the equivalent maps for CA (including all the new Buena Vista Street offerings) and Cars Land? Currently I can't even figure out where Cars Land is in relation to the rest of the parks!

I have updated the first page of this thread with tons of information about the attractions, dining and shops. Lots of links to photo galleries, videos and more!!

This will be live. They have the park completely closed for the media on Thursday. In fact, The DIS will be there to participate. Mr. ImTooExcitedToSleep Tom Bell and our resident videographer, WebmasterDustin, will also be interviewing at the Wednesday night red carpet premiere!

Keep watching for more postings for videos on the DIS YouTube channel!

I'd love to know the best places to take photos of Cars Land are, just like the Kodak photo spots at Disneyland. Do they have any of these there? My guess is that they would. I think I'll be taking more photos than riding rides!

Hi!

This might be a good starter map. The real ones will be available in a few days. One thing to keep in mind - Mater's Junkyard Jamboree backs up to Tuck and Roll's Bumper Cars and the rock formation archway that leads you into Ornament Valley (at the lower part of the speed loop curve aroound Willey's Butte) opens up into the Beer Cart in the Pacific Wharf food court table area.

To be honest, the best thing to do is to wait and see the crowd patterns the first week after opening. Its ALL just guess work right now because no one really knows whats going to happen. But you have the advantage of going a few weeks after opening after the first initial rush has hit it. So just keep your eyes glued to this board and others and I'm sure by the end of the month, people can tell you exactly what to do and the best strategies!

Hi! Since I wrote the posted blog, I'd love to chime in and help better explain this! There are two different ways that wheelchairs can go in and 1 for ECVs. With a wheelchair, you can do the main queue - several people around me had them. They also have a shorter queue that parallells the Single Rider line. The good thing is that you CAN see all of the queue buildings and most of the signage from that shorter line, without having to weave back and forth through them. The 3 queue lines completely parallel (as much as they can be) with the stand-by having small buildings that have 3 hairpin turns in them.

You can see this in both the Queue blog and the RSR blog I have listed in the Podcasts and blogs post (#3 I think) I am adding actual photos of the RSR wheelchair boarding area, so you can see that it is fairly similar to TSMM in how the car is brought to a separate track and platform for guest convenience. I have more queue photos coming into the RSR blog, too.

How ironic! One of the blogs I am writing is for best photo spots! There are SOOOOO many of them!

I'll try to have that one up by tomorrow night!

I was there today, and paid special attention to the accessibility, and also took a bunch of pictures. I'm sure YellowMickeyPonchos covered it all with her great eye for detail, but wanted to make sure I got them, too. I'll post some pics later today in the RSR post.

Thanks MJ - I won't be back until Wednesday's media/industry events. You should upload them to the main DIS gallery for Cars Land!

Just a heads up for the Cozy Cones. They do not give an AP discount, but they do accept Disney gift cards. Go figure!
