Some people(myself included) prefer posting to actually subscribing because it's annoying to get an email or notification every time someone posts. That way I can just go to the "participating threads" page whenever I want to check for new posts rather than be inundated with messages/notifications all day.

But when you use the subscribe link, there's a drop down that comes up next asking whether you want this notification. If you don't select it, then you won't receive any emails etc... Maybe it was different before?

Fyi..... Just tried (again!) using the My Disney Experience app. A pop up came up that said reservations are temporarily unavailable and to call dining. I did call and the recording said the system was receiving an update and agents currently could not view or make res or sell tickets.

Yes, Dreams Unlimited posted on FB yesterday that the reservation system would be down until the afternoon today due to updates....

you can stop getting emails for updates on all your threads too... and if you didn't already know this.....click on the "User CP" on the left hand corner right under "Reply to Thread" it will show all of your threads that had new post on them for the day!

Folks, I've got some rumors to share! On a recent trip to WDW, we ate at Kona multiple times and it appears that is where much of the CG staff have been relocated to. Anyways, we were consistently told that the restaurant would be opening for "friends and family" on August 17. During that period, friends and family of CMs will be invited to test the restaurant. Then (drum roll please), on August 24 or 25 (we heard differing dates), the restaurant would reopen to the general public. Now, obviously, this is second-hand and should be treated as a rumor until we receive official verification.

Just called this morning and, while no ADR's yet, I did get a confirmation of the rumor. The CM advised that above was also what they were being told, only they hearing early September for general public. She said, "that's what we're being told, but no one's said when we'll be getting tables made available."

+1

No ADR's when I called this morning, they even checked to confirm that no tables are even booked for the dates in question (1st week in Dec).

A Different CM advised me on Tuesday that they were "hearing" Aug 31st/September 1st for a public opening, but that was all she knew. Regardless, sounds like it might be getting close. She had no word as to whether they will open dates up from opening date through the 180 day mark or whether they will stagger them.

Nothing today.

Still waiting. Still checking daily. We will be rewarded eventually!

Subscribing to this post, since I'm interested in getting a res for Oct. if it's open.

I just checked and nothing for Oct. 11th

It's Sunday morning - still no ADRs available.

I'm getting sad that we won't be able to get an ADR during wishes in December. I think everyone will flood the site when ADRs become available and I won't be able to do my most favorite thing on our honeymoon :(
Thankfully I did make an ADR at Ohana (first time for us) during wishes, so I can still have that experience of seeing it from a restaurant even if there's no observation deck...

Yes you can. I was there in December and you can see it pretty well. They stream in the music too so you can enjoy it. Just make sure you ask for a table by the windows.
