Sorry the pics aren't that good. The cake however was awesome. It tasted great. I love custard and strawberries! This as at Citricos. The cake was $80.00.

So after going over my options we are going to have a 10 inch cake, Chocolate with Chocolate mousse, Yellow frosting with a painted Mickey statue, inspired by Mickey Mouse Club House. Primary color Mickey icon balloons on the side. Suppose to say " Happy 5th Mickbirthday Dallan". Cost total of $80 plus tax. To be delivered to WCC on January 9th. Hope it comes out as nice as we hope. I will post pics when we get back.

Christina

ETA:I was shocked only $80. I will call and confirm it's what we want.

I just ordered my cake! It's a 6 inch chocolate cake and chocolate buttercream and it says "Happy Birthday Dad" on it. Can anyone tell me how much it will cost? Is it $21.50?

Also, can anyone tell me if they will provide something to cut the cake, plates or forks/spoons? I'm thinking no but it doesn't hurt to check does it?!

Hello fellow cake lovers!!

We returned from my daughter's 13th birthday trip on Friday and I thought I would share our experience with the GF Bakery and Pat with all of you. I had made a reservation to have breakfast at 1900 Park Fare on the 19th, so I got in touch with Pat about 10 days before we were to eat there and placed an order with her. She was very nice and helpful regarding what was available. She and the other lady I spoke to at the bakery mentioned the 6 in. cakes you could get but once I said I wanted a custom cake the others were not mentioned again.

I ordered an 8 in. vanilla cake with white chocolate mousse filling. I requested hot pink fondant with a zebra design around the sides and a "tween" kind of fashion theme. I asked if she could do princess dresses kind of on a hanger and she suggested we go with a non character themed fashion cake. So, here it is:

We were very happy with the cake! We thought it was beautiful and felt that the $77 we paid for it was a fair price. The servers brought it out at the end of our meal and had everyone sing to our daughter. We didn't cut it at the restaurant and asked for a box to carry it in. The box they had wouldn't close with the topper on the cake so instead of taking it off we just carried it with the lid sort of laid over the top and not closed. We took it back to our room at the Polynesian by way of the boat.

We cut the cake later that evening and it was very tasty. We had a birthday cake from Boardwalk Bakery a few years ago with the white chocolate mousse and loved it. This cake wasn't as delicious but it was very good.

So that was our experience with a custom cake from GF Bakery. We were pleased an would order from them again.

What a fun cake!! I'm so glad it turned out the way you wanted it to! :goodvibes

Hi all
I have lurked here for a long time as we have been planning our trip for a long time hahahaha

We are going to WDW in 9 weeks time and while we are there it is my DD's 11th b'day .. There are 18 of us in total, we are going to T-Rex in DTD for her b'day dinner, total surprise for her, i have kind of gathered that i will have to go to the boardwalk bakery, pick up the cake to take there with us.

I have poked and prodded DD to try and find out in a secret way what cake she would like and she decided on Tinkerbell
So here come the questions
1) I have googled lots of Tinkerbell cakes and was wondering do you think i could e-mail them a pic of it??
2) She doesn't like buttercream icing at all, we don't tend to have that kind of icing on cakes here, we normally have fondant or royal icing type so what do i ask for??
3)Any idea on size of cake for 18 people to all have a slice??

TIA :thumbsup2

if you can get ahold of someone there they will normally supply you with an email. pat gave me hers via phone call and i managed to send her the camo cake pic from here that i wanted. she didnt have a color fax machine.

i ordered a 6inch cake for us and we managed to get 7 slices out of it and still gave away 1/3 to a fellow diser.
as for the icing sorry i cant help there. i know in england youre used to different cake coverings.

The cost of your cake seems to depend on where you ordered it so your best bet would be to call the place where the cake was ordered and verify the cost. As far as if they provide plates, utensils, etc. in our experience so far the answer is yes. If you are eating it at a restaurant they will also provide you with a box for you to carry any remainder with you.

We ordered from the boardwalk bakery and we're picking it up.

Just back and I will post pictures soon. We had the most awesome cake delivered to our room at Bay Lake Towers. It was a 10inch Nightmare before Christmas Cake. The detail was so outstanding and it was perfect in everyway. Thank you so much Cake man Brian. Not only did it look good but tasted just excellent. My sons were blown away by the cake. Worth every penny.

I wanted the Mickey Head cake sent to the Port Orleans French Quarter when we arrive..It's my Honey's Birthday and I want to surprise her when we get there. I'll have to give them a call and see about it tomorrow!

I ordered a Mickey Head cake this morning for my son for his birthday. I got a really nice girl named Samantha. We are eating at the Grand Floridian Cafe. She asked me how many people were in my party, my name and reservation time, if I wanted a white or chocolate cake and what I wanted on the inscription. She said they would put Happy 4th Birthday and my son's name. She did ask for a credit card for guarantee which I had not heard about before which was fine. Said it would be billed at my dinner $48 + tax and tip and to let the server know we had a cake.

Do I need to call and confirm it before we leave?

Thanks!!

Stephanei

Hello-

I'm looking for a price on the Haunted Mansion cake... I'll be at the YC so I'm willing to pick it up from the Boardwalk Bakery. I've seen the Mad Hatter cakes but I was looking for something a little more distinctly Alice in Wonderland themed, has anyone had one of those?

I am debating between doing a Mickey Head cake or just a "regular" cake (I guess this would be the podium cake?) for my son's birthday. If we have leftovers, will either of these need to be refrigerated? We are eating at Chef Mickey's and staying at POP so we won't have a fridge--although we probably will have a cooler.
Thanks!

i ordered a tinkerbell cake from the gf bakery. we got the cake and it could not have been more perfect. all it took was one phone call and i left the rest up to pat and her fantastic bakery staff. :thumbsup2

the cake was beautiful and taste so good we were just thrilled. also the price was very reasonable.

we will do this again.::yes::::yes::::yes::

pat anderson, you have really made a name for your self in the cake business and in the disney world. it is a name and reputation to be proud of. :goodvibes congratulations!!!!

My first bump in the road.

I called the cake hotline, followed the prompts to the Boardwalk Bakery, and was told no cake specializing can be done..... I wanted the haunted mansion cake, and she didn't even know where I could call to get one. So, what am I doing wrong??!? I don't mind paying a little more for it because I'll be away for my sister's birthday, so I consider this her birthday present (she's always wanted a fancy looking cake). I just need to figure out what I'm doing wrong.

Well, I've only seen people getting the HM cake at either the GF or Contemporary. Boardwalk Bakery may not be able to do it. I do not know, however, why they said they cannot do any specialized cakes. That's not true. If you want to order something from them again, I'd just call back and talk to someone else. Hopefully, you'll have better luck with a different CM.

Also, if you are staying at the YC, I believe they have an amazing bakery of their own and the first thing I'd do is call them directly; their in-room dining and see what they can come up with for you. If they cannot help you then try the Boardwalk Bakery again. If they cannot do the HM cake, then I think your only other options are the Cont or the GF as I know they've done it before but you cannot pick it up; you would have to eat in one of their restaurants or stay at their resort.

Good luck.

I'll just add that there is no standard Haunted Mansion cake that all the Disney bakeries do.

The one you've seen on this thread was created by the pastry chef at the Contemporary for one guest and has subsequently been copied by people who have sent in that picture and requested it. There's no guarantee that the people you talk to at other Disney bakeries will have seen that cake and know what you're referring to.

it didn't even get to the point of what the cake would look like, it was just a simple can't customize response when I asked about the cakes (I said I wanted to know a price range for a custom cake if I gave them the details and a picture of what I wanted and she said "We don't customize cakes."). So far no luck, but I'll keep calling and trying someone new! I'll try the YC this time...
