Can you use the TIW card for any cake that you buy? If I bought a cake from WL to be delievered to the room can I use TIW for that?? When would they apply the discount? or is TIW just good for GF cake purchases???

Tell me about ordering a cake. I can't find actual prices anywhere. how soon do you have to order it? how do you remind the waiter that you have one discreetly in order to keep it a surprise? where can I actually "see" the designs available?

There aren't actual prices as they vary depending on the type of cake you want. There are some basic cakes they offer at the different restaurants that are a set price such as the mini castle cake at the GF which is $30, the Mickey Head cake which is $48, etc... I have ordered just a few days before but some order 2-4 weeks out. Some restaurants wont take orders that far in advance so it just depends. The waiters normally know that the cakes are a surprise but you could just tell them when you check in and they will put a note on the paper they give your waiter.
There are quite a few pics on this thread but there is an actual gallery that was started... it is here:

The price is very inconsistent, depends on who you talk to

Basically they charge $30 decorate fee

the basic cake fee is same $21 for 6 inch, $35 for 8 inch, ....

And there is 18% tips.

add up quickly.

Does anyone know the answer to this question???:confused3

If I'm having dinner at 1900 Park Faire and the cake gets added to my bill, will the TIW discount come off the total, including the cake?

We couldn't have been more pleased with the cake we received, it was awesome!

We did use TIW, and I think the discount and gratuity was applied to the cake also.

Sept 14th 2009
1900 Park Fare
6in white cake butter cream frosting
Malificent Themed
Cost $50 added to food bill

It was soooo much better than I expected. They really did an amazing job. I called the cake hotline yesterday to give them my compliments, I hope the GF bakery got the message. I still can't get over how awesome that cake was! It was perfect! Thank you GF Bakery!

I had a cake at the Grand Floridian Cafe and one at CRT...one applied the TIW to the cake one did not. So as a worst case...assume no, then be happy if you get it.

Yes, you van use TIW at 1900 park fair, they will discount the cake but they automatically add the tip so it won't actually make it that much cheaper.

No, you can not use TIW for cake delivered to your room. Only at participating restaurants.

Okay I'm curious...how big was that cake?
Sorry...I've been away from the thread for a few days...It was 8" round. 3 Layers with mousse filling. If you look at the Ariel standee on the plate...you will see that it is on the "salad" plate fiesta ware from the DVC resorts. The plate is approx 6" round and the base for Ariel is almost as large as the plate and had 1.5-2" to spare on the top of the cake. I had a 10" cake as well last week and this was definitely an 8".

how does the cake at CR taste? is it super sweet? How does the cake compare to GF's?

we had chocolate cake with chocolate mousse at both locations and both tasted exactly the same. (the cake that is...one had ganache, the other icing, so the topping obviously tasted different). I thought the cake and mousse were great...not too dry, not too sweet, not too rich. That is my opinion though, different people have different opinions on how exactly chocolate should taste.

Here are the pictures of my Ariel Cake with purple icing and sprinkles...the CR Bakery did an absolutely FABULOUS job :cheer2: There was soooooo much detail and it tasted great. My daughter was absolutely thrilled to show off her cake to Ariel. MANY MANY MANY THANKS to Brian and his team for making my daughter's Birthday so magical princess:

Hi Camlace!

Wow, that Ariel cake looks fabulous! Were the starfish and seahorse details edible?

Just out of curiousity for the rest of us... how big was that cake and how much was it? It is beautiful!

Cake cost was $165.00. The topper alone was $100 so that makes the actual cake price $65.00. It was almond cake with amaretto mousse. No idea the size as I ordered through the WL concierge and they arranged it with the GF bakery to be on the yacht. It was either 8 or 10 inches. HTH

Oh wow... that is not as bad as I thought it would be.

Hi all! I am a newbie. I have been to Disney World once before and we are going again October 17th for my son's 5th birthday. He LOVED Fantasmic when we were there last so I would like to do a cake with a Fantasmic theme. Has anyone ever seen anything like that? We are eating at the Grand Floridian Cafe for dinner for his birthday. Thanks!
