This sounds like the kind of thing I'm looking for. Do you know if they deliver these to World Showcase restaurants too?

I don't know. I would call the restaurant in World Showcase and ask if they would do something similar. I think the Boardwalk Bakery does the mini wedding cake as well.

My son's name is Evan and he is turning 7. We are eating at Tony's Town Square the night of his b-day (his favorite meal is chicken parm), so I think I will only be able to get him either a podium cake or a treasure cake the actual night of his b-day. That's why I was considering ordering a custom cake the night before. :)

I ordered the pirate treasure cake for my DS on Saturday at Chef Mickey's and my son was SOOOOO very excited to get it and he is 9. It is a very adorable cake and only cost $15.00. I don't know if this will help with your decision or make it harder. ;)

Thanks for the recommendation! Did you call and order it ahead of time, or did you just ask for it when you arrived at Chef Mickeys? I want to make sure that they will have them available at Tonys. Thanks!

The cake was adorable and tasted very good. This was a perfect size since we had it at Chef Mickey's and their are plenty of other desserts to pick from. As I have mentioned before my DS was thrilled to get it. :dance3:

Sorry I haven't read through this whole thread, but it's a long one!

We're celebrating our 1st anniversary with a quick trip to CSR in Oct. and I'm thinking about a cake. Our actual anniversary is our arrival day. We're set to be in Epcot that night and eat at Rose and Crown. Has anyone ever had a cake delivered there? It's just the two of us so I don't want anything big (or super $ :scared1:), but I want something nicer than the pre-made ones.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

I've been trying to avoid posting my opinion of Epcot cakes, but it's hard to get help with those. 1st, there's a cake from Rose & Crown on the Cake Gallery thread http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2118274&page=2 post #28. On a positive note, it sounds like their cake from R&C was better than ours from Biergarten. The options were choc/choc or van/van. We went with chocolate/chocolate. The other person had vanilla/vanilla, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't custard. Ours was an 8x8" square single layer cake. I ordered it through the Epcot cake line.

As a side note, you can get the small wedding cake from Boardwalk Bakery. There's many more options there too. Lurkyloo posted an order form on the 1st page of the Cake Gallery thread. You could easily pick it up, & carry it to R&C. (I'd call ahead to make sure they allow outside cakes to be carried in.) I wish I'd gone with option 2. ;)

tarheelmjfan - if it makes you feel any better, I share your opinion of Epcot cakes. I've had their podium cake and a special-event sheet cake, and.... :(

How much lead time is necessary to order a custom cake? We're not going til next June, but I want to order a cake to celebrate our 20th anniversary and surprise the hubby. I want a "20 years of magic and mayhem" theme! LOL!

Most people order it about 2 weeks in advance. I'm a planning freak so I had my order ready 4 weeks in advance, luckly we had no trouble with it! ^^

Thanks! I'm a bit of an anal retentive planning freak myself...LOL!

I think I ordered mine 4 weeks in advance...will check in tomorrow (2 weeks) and I'm sure I'll call again the following Friday. Hey, I'll be at the Grand Floridian for lunch a few days before....I could try hunting Pat down and checking again! :lmao::lmao::lmao:

You might want to call first to check if they have them at Tonys. At one point I think they were only available at character meals, now the WDW site says "Available at most Family table service locations." I'd assume that includes Tonys but better safe than disappointed, right? Enjoy!:goodvibes

Definately call to see if they have them. My DSs got their pirate treasure boxes at Boma. I seem to recall that the WDW website that they used to list the restaurants that carried them. But, of course, calling would probably take less time and be less frustrating than trying to find it on the WDW site.

Just talked to Pat. Very nice. Our cake is for our Anniversary and it will be 62 dollars. Choc, with Bavarian Creme and Strawberries. I think it will have the Mickey and Minnie on top. Told her to add a lot of color. Also got the personalized menus. Very excited.:cool1:

Wife and I are coming down for MNSSHP as well as wifes BDAY...wondering how to order Mad Hatter Cake and have it sent to Mama Melrses and how much $$$$$....also heard a rumor you can arrange Breakfast in Castle...wife would love that on BDay...how to do it...thanks in advance for all info...only 59 days....to our 2nd ever trip to WDW...first was in 2007 and we were mid 50's...:goodvibes

for breakfast in the castle you will need to made ADRs. i would suggest calling/going online NOW! for the cake, i think you would need to start by calling mama melrose directly. we too are in mid-50's and go at least 2x/year! don't forget your halloween costume for the party!:yay:

you can schedule breakfast lunch or dinner in the castle. :)

I believe the Mad Hatter cake is only done at the Grand Floridian. There is a cake thread here, link in the sticky at the top of the board for popular links :)

It is a neat cake but PRICEY! :scared1:

Check out the cake gallery too, just pics of cakes :thumbsup2
