Were headed down next week. been reading this thread but need some ideas. Were eating dinner at citricos and then i have a wishes cruised book for after. Im going to propose to my gf on the boat. was wondering if the gf bakery could whip something up where i could put the ring in it(slipper or something cool like that) and keep it under a cover till out on the water? I will also have my soon to be step daughter, nephew and my mother with me. I NEED ALL YOUR GUYS INPUT!! thanks again

Hi guys! I am celebrating my 50th birthday next month and just wondering if anybody has seen a Mary Poppins cake? I did see a carousel cake (for retirement) a couple weeks ago .. but that's not really what I have in mind. I need to give my husband HUGE, DETAILED hints.

your best bet is to call Pat with the cake hotline. She can coordinate with the GF Bakery as to a "proposal plate". Your choice would be either a chocolate rose or a chocolate Cinderella slipper that you can put your ring in. "Will You Marry Me?" is written in chocolate on the plate, and presented by the server.

Another option would be to order a glass slipper from Arribas Bros. in the Magic Kingdom. They can inscribe the slipper with your names and proposal date. You may need to sneak away and pick this up yourself. Pat can bring this to the bakery, and the same inscription written in chocolate on a large white plate can be done. Then you have an additional souvenir to take home.

It's a great presentation, and always gets a YES!!

I know exactly what you are talking about and when we were there last May I asked about that exact goody. I was told that they don't do that anymore. I could order a cake, cookies, strawberries, etc. I opted for a treat that had cookies, brownies and a chocolate elephant and sign. I was around $50-something and delivered to the room.

Thanks! I actually ended up ordering a dozen chocolate covered strawberries on a platter that had Happy Birthday written on it in chocolate. I also was able to speak to the Food/Beverage Manager to tell him how much I would love for them to bring that amenity back.

No. You can get a custom cake. Whomever is putting out this false information needs to stop. No oneon property is using the frozen Sarah Lee cakes any longer. Even of they were they are only used when you walk up to the podium otherwise all cakes are made fresh. I hope this helps.

I'm not sure about the peanut butter, but I chose for the slipper to be filled with raspberry mousse and Pat had no problem with it.

That is VERY good to know!! I hope someone gets a good park restaurant cake soon and posts it! We are headed to Tony's Town Square in December for a very special anniversary dinner before our Vow Renewal ceremony on DCL and I would LOVE to get a special cake made.

My dh had a wonderful cake for me at GF a few years back. It was a gold cake that had custard and strawberry filling but the frosting was a marble looking white and milk chocolate. I am unsure of what the frosting is called exactly.


Does anyone know if a similiar cake can be made at the CR for dinner at CG? We are doing a special anniversary dinner there on our first night and it would be a great place to order a cake to surprise the dh.

My cake had a painted white chocolate standing cinderella on it so I would be looking for something a little different but would love the same kind of frosting it had.

Should I call over to private dining over at CR? I am a little unfamiliar with that resort. We are staying at Poly.

Yes call Private Dining. The I icing you are looking for is called gqnache. The CR is able to do this on cakes all you have to do is request a marbled ganahe for the icing.

I want a custom cake delivered to Saratoga Springs (I know it's possible to have one made at the Boardwalk Bakery that gets delivered to Artist Palette and then you can pick it up from there).
I phoned the number for Artist Palette, leave a message with my number as requested (no option to speak to a real person) but nobody gets back to me.
So after several days of waiting I phone the normal number for Saratoga Springs, tell them I didn't get a call back and asked if it was possible to be put through to someone at Artist Palette directly. Was put on hold for a short time and then was told they would put me through.
Well, they didn't put me through to Artist Palette, but to the Cake Hotline, where I had to choose from several options, which lead me back to the original answering message from Artist Palette.

All I want, is just to speak to someone and order a custom cake for when we arrive (in 2 weeks time exactly).
Can anyone help me out please?

A few pages back, I asked a similar question but no responses. What are my optioins for BWI. We will be staying there in Dec for the first time. I would like to have a cake delivered to our room, we will be celebrating an aniversary and 2 birthday.

If you would like, I would be happy to pm you with her direct line. She gave to me weeks ago when I was calling to see if it was even possible to get a cake at SSR. When I called a few days ago, she answered with the first ring. She is is super nice and very funny!

We ran into the same problems when trying to order a cake at SSR. DBf has left 3 vmails since last week but we haven't heard back from anyone. We are leaving in 18days and I hope someone can share the tips of ordering a cake from SSR with us? TIA!
