wow - what a disappointment that the cake was dry - but it was nice of the waiter to remove it from the bill!

Wow, i'm sorry you didn't like your cake. With the problems i had with the look of the cake i ordered from 1900 Park Fare, taste wasn't one of them. I thought the cake was wonderful, very moist and delicious, and the white chocolate mouse inside was delightful!! And our cake was dairy free too!! I'm a decorator here at home, so i know exactly how i want my cake to taste, and it was perfect. I'm sorry yours wasn't like that. Good for your waitor for taking it off the bill! :thumbsup2

I was going through some of our pictures from our last trip, and I couldn't remember if I ever came back here to post the pics of DS's birthday cake..

It was a chocolate cake, with chocolate mousse filling, and chocolate butter cream. It was done by the GF Bakery and was $100.

It was very good, BUT, a little toooo chocolaty..even for us. Next time I think we would change the flavors up a bit.

Sent a picture of this to my husband. Donald is my favorite character and we will be celebrating my birthday and anniversary while we are there.

I have a question about the Tuxedo Strawberries and Mickey Mouse that i saw earlier on in this thread... I know that GF can arrange these, but is there any way possible to have them sent to either my room, (staying in All Star Music) or to a resturant?? My DBF would LOVE :lovestruc these, seeing strawberries are one of his favorite foods!!! Any input would help!! Thanks DIS'ers!:thumbsup2

Someone on here had posted they ordered them from POP, I wonder if they are back from their vacation to fill us in on these, I would like to order them also.

I'd ordered a 10" white buttercream icing, chocolate cake & strawberries/custard filling cake for a dinner at Narcoossee's on Monday night. It wasn't a special occasion so I asked them to put "DISNEY WISHES" on it. Wishes is our favorite fireworks and we were going to watch them during dinner.

Originally I asked if I could get a small outline of a turret (to represent the castle) on it but was told no. Then I asked if they could draw a few squiggly lines for fireworks and was told yes, for an additional $30. So I finally asked is there ANYTHING you can do to make sure there's some color on it? I didn't get a definitive yes, it was more of a they'd try but it depended on who would decorate it. :confused3

Monday night arrives. We have a wonderful dinner and after Wishes, they bring out this huge cake for the 4 of us. They cut it (I took a photo but the design wasn't anything special - disappointing). We each had a piece but no one finished it -- it was terrible; the chocolate cake was so so dry.

I offered it to our waiter to share with the people working in the restaurant but let him know it was terribly dry. I was so surprised when he brought out the bill and told me he'd taken off the cake since we didn't like it. He said they'd send the GF bakery a note in the morning about how dry it was. I really appreciated him doing that but really just wanted the cake to be special and delicious - the way our last one was back in Sept :(

hope no one has a similar experience.

I wish we had cut our cake and tried to eat it at The Plaza on May 4th. Like I posted earlier our cake was horrible too. It was sooooooooooooooo dry you could see air pockets in the cake, and the filling had no flavor at all. I think it was suppose to be vanilla or white chocolate filling.

I will not order another cake. I will go to Walmart and get one.........................LOL.

We will be celebrating Father's Day at CRT. Our first time there--it was what DH wanted. We have 4 kids--any ideas on a special cake idea for Father's Day at CRT? I keep scrolling through this wonderful thread, but with 4 kids, looking at the pix of cakes is rough! Thanks!:goodvibes

I am not sure about CRT, but i want to do the same for my husband at Ohanas breakfast, and I called the Poly directly. They told me that if i want to get a cake i have to get a 8 inch and they can write Happy Fathers Day. They gave me the choice of chocolate or vanilla cake only, so I assume it is frozen. I think you just need to give them 48 hours and they can have it for you.

Would like to do a Anniversary cake for my daughter and son-in-law in Sept. We will all be on the dinning plan. They are celebrating their 5th wedding anniversary with dinner at CR. They have ressies at 5:20. Because they are on the dinning plan, they already get desert, so do not want nothing big, plus they will not want to carry it around the rest of the night. He does not like Chocolate. I have the diver and the menus booked, now just need to finish up this cake thing. Any ideas and pictures. I could get over to CR to pick up the cake from them after dinner if I had to, or will CR hold it until later? Please help me with this. Thanks:confused3

We'll be eating at CRT for my DD's 9th b-day! I want to do something special for her since we'll be eating in the castle! :woohoo: Any suggestions or things others have done in the past? She is really into princesses so this will be so wonderful for her! princess: Thanks!!

Does anyone know if the Cape May Cafe does cakes? Or would it be best to get one from the Boardwalk Bakery? Are the two even close to each other. I have never been to that area of WDW.
Thanks,
Scott

I ordered a cake for my DD and DN's birthday in June. They are both huge Star Wars fans so I asked them if they could do Jedi Mickey or Darth Goofy. She said she couldn't do that, but she could do a Star Tours themed cake. Has anyone done a Star Wars cake? I would love to see pictures or hear how it turned out!

You can order a cake or a slipper dessert.

It sounds cool. Where did you order it from?

The BW Bakery makes the cakes served at the Beach & Yacht Clubs. They are just across the lagoon from each other.

The Yacht and Beach club have there own onsite bakery which bakes for the restaurants. You call in room dining for the Beach Club (407-934-8000 Beach Club Main number) ask for in-room dining to place your order and tell them you would like it for your meal at Cape May Cafe you will need your name and ADR time for the order and a credit card to place the order it will be charged at Cape May at the time of your meal.

I have ordered from BW Bakery, was ok, but I have gotten 7 at the Yachtsman Steakhouse for parties and they have been Awesome!! I've ordered them thru in-room dining

Does CRT do anything special, like a little cupcake or something? I think we're planning to do a cake later that night back at our hotel room but I thought just a little something extra would be sweet. Has anyone ever had them bring out a cupcake at CRT? Thanks! :goodvibes

What size was this cake? How many people should it had fed?

Last October I Remember seeing a # for the Cake hotline for each resort, I did that at POFQ and it was great. I want to do it at SSR but don't see any # anyone know it? Maybe I am just overlooking it.

The number that I called was the main cake hotline number. We stayed at SSr last Aug.The cake was from Boardwalk Bakery and delivered to SSr. We had to pick it up at the food court. It wa very good. After I placed the order I called the Boardwalk Bakery to double check what was written down over the phone. Everyting was correct

Does anyone know if we are staying at ASMu where the cake comes from and where do I pick it up at? Will they deliver the chocolate strawberries with the Mickey there?

Sorry, but I disagree with this 100%. Just because you can order a cake through in room dining does NOT mean that the cake is being produced at BC. It is not. I was told by a rep from BOTH the BC and BW during multiple conversations that BW Bakery makes the cakes for both the Epcot resorts and their restaurants. I choose to believe them.

As far as who to call, Disney is pushing the cakes hotline number for ordering for their own reasons. It's listed on the first page of the thread and there will be a prompt to order a cake at the right resort. Good luck, OP.
