Ok, this is what I want, who should I call for this?

We are having dinner at 1900 Park Fare for our anniversary. I want the fondant cake with mickey stamps (probably pink) and a Lady and the Tramp Chocolate topper, and "8 yrs of Magic" on the chocolate banner. Should i call the cake hotline, 1900 Park Fare, or teh GF Bakery?

Also, we are doing dinner at 50's Prime Time and also CP. I'd like to do another desert, but not a cake. And since i'm deathly allergic to strawberries, the Mickey Tuxedo's are out. you can only get the Cinderella Slipper at CRT, right? Does anyone know if they can make something like the Mickey Tuxedos, but from Cherries or Bananas?? Or is there something else I can order??

Thanks!!!

I actually made this cake for my dd's 4th birthday last year. $55.99 is CRAZY! The turrets are nothing more than flimsy paper/plastic type material, and unless you are having a big party with a lot of family at Disney, cake to feed 25-30 people seems a big waste. Yeah it's a cute cake, but I think a Disney made one would be better.

Unless Disney could create something like this!

That's awesome that you made this cake! Do you deliver to WDW? :rotfl2:
Yeah that is alot of cake even with the 8 of us going, plus we need to get two cakes for two BDAys ~ a boy and a girl. We are looking at some of the other not so large Publix Cakes or may go with two from the Garden Grocer, since we are getting a grocery delivery anyway. I didn't like the fact that AKL said they don't do designs on their cakes. We are still trying to make up our minds on what we are going to do. We also are gonna get a pie (i think) for a 3rd person on our trip who is also celebrating a BDay. OUr trip is gonna be one BIG Splurge!!!

I had this delivered to our room at the GF this past Monday night from Private Dinning. DH thought he had walked into the wrong room. WDW was our Christmas present to each other so I thought a cake would be funny. It was 6 inches chocolate on chocolate.

I may even go with the Garden Grocers they have a round cake (i forget the size)

Well, I called the cake hotline the other day and left a message at Chef Mickey's. A wonderful CM called me back the next day and I ordered my birthday cake for my 40th birthday the first week in March! I ordered the Mickey head cake...I am sooo excited!:woohoo:

I don't know if this has been asked or not, but I'll ask anyway. Does anyone know if you have to be in the room to have a cake delivered?
I would love to have one delivered on the day we arrive while we are in the park. I know that I would have to call them and tell them the room number once we arrive. I just didn't know if it could be done or not. It may just be easier though to have it delivered to us while we are having dinner at 'Ohana.

We stayed at POR the week after thanksgiving. It was at the food court bakery waiting the day we arrived. They wouldn't take it to the room. I think it may be a hit or miss thing, depending on the resort and the mood of the CM at the time.
Of course, we were there at a busy time also.

Has anyone every ordered a gluten-free cake from the cake line? We'll be celebrating DH's b-day at Whispering Canyon on 3/21. I'd like to order a cake for him, but my youngest DS has Celiac Disease & can't have anything with gluten in it. I wouldn't want to order a cake & then have to exclude him from eating it :sad2:. Anyone have any experience with this? From what I've heard WDW is fantastic about accomodating special diets for regular meals, just not sure about cake. Any input would be appreciated! :) Thanks! :thanks:

I've not ordered a gluten-free cake myself, but do have a friend who has Celiac's Disease and when he was dining at Boma, the Chef came out to talk to him and prepared several desserts just for him so he could enjoy dessert-time like the rest of us. :cool1:

If it were me, I would either call the Cake Hotline and see what they suggest. :goodvibes

Hope you have a Magical trip!

letthewookiewin - We were not in our room at the GF when our cake arrived. It may depend on the hotel. We had it come @ 7pm.

We've never ordering a sheet cake with a special filling. I didn't even know they did that. Then again, I've never asked. If you find out you can, please let me know. I may want to do that sometime myself.

I don't know about the kids in your group, but we think the raspberry filling in their layer cakes is wonderful. Our 16 yo. old loves it too. That's not necessarily a good indication on what other kids would like though. He's always had a more mature palate than most kids. I'm sure you know, if they would like it.

As a side note, I can't imagine WDW making a cake similar to the castle cake you considered for a comparable price. I could be wrong, but I'd be very surprised. Unfortunately, I don't know anything about Garden Grocers cakes. I hope you find one somewhere you're happy with.

Just returned from another wonderful trip! We celebrated my DH's bday and had a wonderful cake from the WL bakery. I was a little hesitant at first when I found out they do not do character cakes or any type of strawberry filling which is what I had really wanted. Well, my hesitation was not needed. DH said this was the best cake he has ever had! It was a 10" vanilla cake, vanilla butter cream icing, and vanilla butter cream filling. They delivered it right to our villa on time with everything we needed. We would definitely order this cake again on our next visit to the WL!

Do you have to pay for the cake when you place the order? And has anyone had one delivered to the 50's Prime time Cafe?

Cool, we are staying at the Poly w/ a MK view room from Dec. 7-14th. I hope we can get one delivered while we are in the park.

Thanks tarheelmjfan

They do the fillings at Publix which you can get a delivery from http://www.wegoshop.com/ It looks like they will go to almost any of the big grocers in the area. If we go with them for our groceries then I will definitely be ordering 2 cakes from them. Something with chocolate frosting and chocolate filling for DS (he actually doesn't even eat the cake part:eek: ) and the cake will either be marble or chocolate. Then for DD definitely vanilla cake, buttercream frosting and most likely strawberry filling.
I think us adults would love the rasberry filling, but probably not DD and definitely not DS. We actually have 3rd bday to celebrate my Aunt who will be coming along, but man o man if we order another cake we will have to be rolled around WDW:rotfl: !!! I imagine we will do something for her too though. Maybe a pie.

I totally agree that if WDW made the castle cake or the fancy pirate ship that they would charge and arm and a leg for it!
