Another possiblity is to celebrate a half birthday. I have read about people doing this when their actual birthday is close to the holidays. Figure up and see if you have a half birthday.

Can the Castle Cake and/or the Glass Slipper dessert be ordered anywhere other than CRT or the GF restaurants?

No, 'fraid not. :-( (The castle is available only at GF and not at CRT while you should be able to get the slipper at either GF or CRT (recently confirmed this myself).

Thank you Tinkerbell 728- We are celebrating our 15th on the 26 sept. We are only having two ADR's, so I'm so glad to here you were able to order a cake for your room at SSR. This will make my life much easier !!

Thanks so much Sazzo's Mommy for guiding me to the proper page for the small Coral Reef cake, Look's very good.

I continue to research which cake I want :)
This is THE decision of my life, so I better make a good decision, lol!

WHAT exactly is the Mickey Mouse head cake? I know it's a cake shaped like Mickey's head, but what kind of cake is it? Are there fillings? What kind of frosting/ icing is on it? Does it taste well (according to those who ate it)?
Is it only availble at certain restaurants or at all?

Help! Help!! 14 days before we arrive for our week long 10th anniversary stay at the Poly. DD (7):cloud9: knows nothing of the trip - we will tell her when we wake her up the morning that we are leaving. Here is where I need your help Disers... spoke with Linda today at GF and she told us that we cannot get our anniversary cake from her. We asked about cake delivery to Kona (on the night of our arrival) and she said that we would have to order the cake directly from the Poly.
I am struggling with the decision (do we order from the Poly and keep life simple :goodvibes , or do we order from GF and actually go over to the resort to pick up the cake :cool1: ?). We were planning on ordering a 10" chocolate cake - decorated with a family photo, a hawaiian lei (made of edible flowers) and "Happy 10th Anniversary". What do we do now?:confused3

PLEASE SEND ME
- ANY PICS THAT YOU MAY HAVE OF A CAKE ORDERED FROM THE POLY
- THE NAME OF THE EXACT PERSON THAT I SHOULD SPEAK WITH (AND PHONE # IF YOU HAVE IT)
- A SUGGESTION OF WHICH COCKTAIL TO HAVE UPON MY ARRIVAL... the planning and keeping the secret are driving me crazy!!! :yay:

Thanks everyone!

So Linda specifically said you could pick up your cake at the GF without eating at one of the GF restaurants. Interesting.

I don't think you are going to get an actual person who only does cakes at the Poly, i.e., the Linda equivalent. I call the private dining number (it's on page 1) and, so far, they have been cheerful and helpful. I am getting a tropical theme too for our important anniversary and looking forward to it. I am not convinced the cake isn't actually coming from GF anyway since there are only a few centralized bakeries around WDW, it's just that you need to order it where you want to eat it. That keeps things simpler for all. I don't know this to be fact, it's just what I suspect.

As far as pics, you'll have to look at the thread. There are at least two Poly cakes in the past few pages (Tinkerbell and another one) and a couple in the gallery on the first few pages.

Breathe ... whichever decision you choose will be fine.

We celebrated my daughters 5th birthday at Chef Mickey's last Monday (Aug 6th). Her name is Isabella, but we all call her Belle, so of course I wanted to get her a Princess Belle cake. Just wanted to share our special cake that I ordered from the Contemporary.

That is so precious!!! :)

Did you ask for the extra cupcakes to form the "hidden Mickey" or did they do that automatically. That is such a cool extra touch. :woohoo:

I am going to go ahead and add all the cupcake pictures I have as well as the ones from her Will Turner cake. The CM that I booked all my dining ressies with put one of the kids bdays and every ADR it was fun but not something I would do again. Definately a bit much. ;)
Not a great picture of the Sundae but they put a candle in his make your own sundae at Spoodles and brought it to the table. The waiter said the typical bday thing was chocolate cake.

We had breakfast at Ohanas and they gave him a vanilla cupcake with the confetti type sprinkles just like above on it ... I forgot to get a picture.

Dinner at CP the table was scattered with confetti and curly q's, she also got a pinwheel and then the cupcake.
BreakfastatCRT24.jpg

Chocolate cake from CRT at breakfast. The table with scattered with castle and cinderellas coach foil confetti.

Her cake from Coral Reef. They said that the kitchen really enjoyed doing it because it was different from what they normally asked for. She could not have been more happy with it. :goodvibes:

All around the side it had these smaller pictures of Will Turner.
Shelbysbday019.jpg

Bday cupcake at Akershus. It had a medallion in the top of it as well that was white chocolate and said happy bday but I didn't take the picture fast enough.
The only other one we had was CM and it was just like the cupcakes in the pictures above.

No, I didn't ask for the extra cupcakes, they did that on their own. It was a nice touch I thought.:thumbsup2

OMG! That cake is AWESOME!!! I never would have thought to ask for a POTC cake. Hmmmmmm . . . I might have to drop a hint to my sister about this. ;) I don't think I could have eaten that cake though. Will is so hot in that picture. ;)

LMAO Her comment was Mom don't get mad but my cake is sexy!I about died laughing. We did not eat the cake that night because we had desserts at Coral Reef. Plus she was not really wanting to eat it yet and it was her cake. She ended up eating some of it a few days later. She said she did not like the edible image and that it peeled off the top easily.

What an awesome thread. Thank you all for the pictures and great posts.
I'm interested in hearing all thoughts on ordering a cake or something else special like the chocolate covered strawberries etc.

We are on the DDP and have ADR's for dinner LTT, lunch Kona, dinner Boatrights, dinner Garden Grill. Our party is 2 adults, 2 grandparents, ds7, ds5and ds4. We are celebrating a 46th anniversary, 70th bday and the boys bdays too. With regard to the desserts that are included at those restaurants under the DDP, which place do you think has the best add on for a special surprise and what would it be or should I just stop at the included dessert. Thanks!!
