Whew, This is good to hear! Hopefully this is the case, like I said I never spoke with the GF, just the person at AKL.

I don't think they'll surprise you with a delivery charge. I'll bet someone at AKL picked up the cake for you. The CM at GF told me if I could get someone at Chef M's to pick up my cake it would be fine, no inconvenience to me and no delivery charge. I decided to pick it up myself because I was afraid CM's would agree to do it and then forget.

first off, a HUGE thanks :thumbsup2 to ZURGSWIFE for this fantastic thread!! I spent last night reading every single post from beginning to end ...

but I tried to call the Rose & Crown ALL morning to order a special cake for my MIL .....is the line always busy ???!!! so help! when IS the best time to call?? we'll be there in 2 weeks and 4 days :yay:

Hi all! Just wanted to let you know that the price is now $16 for a 6 inch round cake, chocolate or vanilla with chocolate or vanilla mousse filling with chocolate or vanilla buttercream frosting. The top says Happy Birthday and you get your choice of a Mickey or Minnie topper.

Just ordered one today for a my birthday Oct 19th and they said they attach the cake to your dining reservation number and you pay for it when you pay for the meal. (I got the triple chocolate...DEATH BY CHOCOLATE)

I called at 10 am and left a message. I got a return call at noon.

just a head's up for anyone else interested : the number listed on page 1 for the ROSE and CROWN has been changed. The new number is : 407 560-3830

I just got off the phone with Amber at the restaurant. She was wonderful!! Amber told me you can't get a premade 6" at the door anymore - all cakes have to be ordered. I ordered an 8" chocolate cake with dark chocolate mousse filling, chocolate icing - a Mickey and Minnie decoration and fresh strawberries...sounds great! and all for $45. and Amber also verified our ADR and put a note in the computer alerting them to the birthday & cake order.

We are only 3 people but I plan on sharing the cake with the tables around us...that was a great tip from another person here on this board.

Just another heads up I called to order a cake from the WL for WCC and the number they gave me for the WL Bakery is now 407-824-2090

Does anyone have a number for Teppanyaki? We are celebrating my DS11 birthday on 12/1. Thanks

Tracie

Just wanted to jump in and say the cake I ordered for my daughter's birthday was wonderful! It came from the Main st. Bakery and we had dinner at Tony's. They brought it out for dessert, had the whole room sing Happy Birthday and swing their napkins, awesome. I will post a picture soon. :cool1: :Pinkbounc :woohoo:

I ordered the cake a week before dsis birthday at Boma on Sept 30th, 2006 and it was delish! Did not encountered any problem!

Chocolate mouse for icing , yellow cake with strawberry fruit filling ! Yum!!!

Hello,
This is a great thread. I read through this thread a couple of weeks ago. At some point prior to that, I thought I had seen somewhere here on the DIS a picture of a Haunted Mansion-themed cake. Am I imagining that or did someone else see that also? My DH will celebrating his 40th bday on Oct 28th and I think that would be perfect. I would appreciate any help.

thanks,

I believe this is what you are looking for.

Goofy4tink,
Thanks, but that's not it. It was chocolate icing and it was square/rectangle-ish and it looked like a haunted mansion. Was there another thread about cakes? I know I saw it on the disboards.

Thanks anyway!

There was another thread with cake photos in it but I thought they had all been transferred over to this one. Sorry.

I'm not sure of exactly what # to call to call for the Garden View Lounge at the Grand Floridian. Anyone have any experience and know what exact # to call? I'm trying to order the Cinderella slipper dessert for our afternoon tea next Friday. Thanks!

I called 407-824-2578 for our cake at the GF Cafe. The number is for GF Private Dining so that should be the number for you also!

I also called GF private dining to order a couple of slipper desserts for our afternoon tea coming up in a few weeks - they were very nice and took down all the information.

Be sure to have your ADR# when you call. :goodvibes

Thanks for the #! I've been calling all day and just getting their voice mail. I've left two messages so far. I hope I hear back from them soon! We are leaving for FL tomorrow and I was hoping to have this out of the way. Thanks again! :thumbsup2

if you are in the FL and still need to call them call their dining no. they will connect you and you can order your cake with your room number coined with it. It worked for us with no problem!

Can you get the mini castle cake delivered to the Grand Floridian Cafe. It will be my parents 35th anniversary and I was wanting to get the cake for them.

Yes, you can get the mini castle cake at any GF restaurant. Just call their private dining number which I think is on page one of this thread.
