I heard that the Zebra cake has alcohol in it. Do you know or anyone know if thats true or not?

I ordered a Zebra striped cake for the night we eat at Boma, to thank my parents for taking us (me, dh, dd, sister and sister's friend). It came to $35...but I cannot remember for the life of me what all the flavoring was. LOL

Something else to think about. We can have groceries delivered to our room so I wonder, if the grocery store that we order our groceries from has a bakery then could we potentially order one that way and just have it delivered with our groceries? Hmmmmmmm something to consider. I was just at my local grocery store today and noticed that they offered many nice disney designs on their cakes plus I love the taste of their cakes there. Just something that we could possibly consider.

Can I have my cake and eat it too?~plus get the milk for free?

ditto
I was dissapointed to find out that the bakery at AKL does not put designs on cakes! They said we could bring our own and they could put it on the cake. but doesn't that kind of go agaist the magical spirit that Disney is supposed to have?
You are supposed to expect more of them ~ they're Disney!
Come on Disney hire some more cake decorators or at least buy some fancy chocolate and candy decorations to put on your cakes at all of your locations!!!!!

I know what you mean. Maybe that's our punishment for staying in the "inexpensive" deluxes. ;) I haven't called the cake hotline or WL myself yet, but haven't felt rushed to based on all the accounts here that WL just does flowers and such. I try not to be bummed by this, but I can't help it.

Again, if anyone out there has some suggestions for us WL guests in terms of decorated cakes, please share them! Only ADR I have on my birthday is dinner at Crystal Palace.

I'm reading about the 6" cakes available at the podium...what flavor are they? Any choices? My son definitely wants a vanilla cake with chocolate frosting. I called to day to order an 8" cake but they wouldn't let me get vanilla cake with cholcoate frosting (only white/vanilla or chocolate/chocolate). There's only 5 of us so it seems silly to order a $50 10" cake...is there some other way to get this *crazy* request of vanilla cake and chocolate frosting?

Thanks for any ideas...

There are not choices at the podium. It is white with white icing. It was more than enough for 3 adults and 1 child. We had plenty left over.

Not sure, but I'll let you know after tonight. I don't remember any alcohol flavoring being mentioned, cause that would be something that would have stuck out when I ordered it.

A few years ago we had groceries delivered from Publix along with a wonderful cake for my dh birthday. Chocolate raspberry if I remember correctly and it was delicious. You may want to try that.

I finally got it! :upsidedow Bet you guys thought I had forgotten or given up. Sorry it took so long. You know what kept the pictures from posting? There was an "i" in front of the 259. I deleted that and the pictures showed. :confused3 I don't know why I even thought to do it, but I'm glad I did!

Anyway, sorry these pictures are so large. They are of the Star Wars cake I mentioned so long ago. Hope you like the cake! We loved it! Sorry it took so long. It was such a mystery to me as to why the images wouldn't post! Finally, case solved. :)

thanks for the pic of the stars wars cake, can you tell me where you ordered it from and what kind of cake and filling it had?

thanks

Hi Michele, I ordered the Star Wars cake by using the cake hotline phone number on the first post of this thread (thanks again, OP!). It was delivered to Coral Reef. I think we had a 10" cake, because if memory serves me that was the smallest decorated cake we could get (for Star Wars). We didn't have any filling, just vanilla cake with chocolate icing. It was good! :)

HTH!

I did find out they have the
$12.50 6 inch regular

$25.00 6 inches with custard fillings

$40.00 10 inches (feeds 16)

(no 8 inch is available from them)

they also have the zebra cake in a 6 inch but I don't know the price - sorry
and I think she said the mickey head was available too but I didn't inquire about that as we don't want the ganash (sp?)

  • you can get chocolate, vanilla, or mable and standard buttercream icing or chocolate buttercream icing.
  • they don't do any fancy designs on their cakes but you can bring your own and they will put it on the cake if you like~ they are located next to BOMA
  • they deliver to AKL rooms and restaurants

I forgot to ask about adding an inscription to the cakes (e.g., Happy Birthday Joe, Happy Anniversary Dick and Jane). BUT the OP stated that on other cakes only 2 names can be inscribed on an individual cake.

The OP stated that There is also the Mickey Mouse (Head) Cake. Mickey Mouse Cake $45 plus tax. NOTE: Inscriptions are NOT available on the Mickey Cake.

She said that they prefer to not take orders more than 2 weeks in advance but to give them at least 48 hours notice

hope this helps.
I was planning on ordering groceries to be sent to my room and found this option:
the gardengrocer carries the following:

Store Bakery 8 Inch Round Birthday Cake Chocolate Cake White Icing 1 each $19.99/each $19.99

Store Bakery 8 Inch Round Birthday Cake White Cake White Icing 1 each $19.99/each $19.99

Unfortunately ~no design
however maybe if you called and asked they would for extra $$$

SIL and BIL are staying at Pop and I'd like to Surprize them with a cake in their room...is there any way to do this at all? Are there ANY places in Disney that deliver- I don't want to spend $50 on a cake for their room!!! I want them to get a small, but good cake- hoping to do the 6" one?

We've never had Publix deliver groceries, but that's where we do our grocery shopping at home. All the cakes we've gotten from there are great. They also have some great decorations & specialty cakes. You can view the cakes on their website. http://publix.com/food/catalog/Bakery/DecoratedCakes/Home.do I don't know if there's any limitations for delivered cakes. Good luck getting the cake you want.

Sorry, it wasn't Publix that we ordered from it was Goodings, but the cake was great and they did personalize it.

Hate to be a pest, but I really need an answer to my question. Does anyone know what kinds of birthday cakes Crystal Palace does, if any? I'm up the creek without a paddle right now; we'll be staying at Wilderness Lodge, but based on this thread they only make cakes with basic decoration (i.e. flowers). CP is where I'm having my birthday dinner, but I'm wondering if getting a cake here is a good idea. If anyone has any other suggestions, that would be SO appreciated. Thanks all! :wizard:

Liberty Tree Tavern cake questions
DS turns 6 on a day that we will be eating there before going to the Pirates Party - I didn't see them listed. Any suggestions - without forcing me to read 178 pages would really rock..

THANKS
