I thought you could only order these from the GF?? If I would have known this I could have ordered one there for a friend of mine while we are going to be there next week.:worship:

I rang and spoke to the chef about it, he said it will be 2 layers of cake. cant wait now.

Hi, does anyone have the email address for Linda and the GF bakery they could PM me? I have left a couple of message on her answer machine but she has not rang me back, I am wondering if she is having trouble ringing the UK. I have tried the disney email address on the first page and it does not exist anymore.
I get married in 2 weeks and would really like to order a custom cake. Please help!! Thanks

I called GF Wednesday and spoke with someone there and they suggested I talk to Linda. They gave me her phone number and specifically told me she wouldn't call me back but I could leave her a mesage on her voice mail. I did leave a message and of course she did not call me back. I called her the next day and she acted like I was bothering her. I was kinda put off by her lack of personality. She had to tell me the choices for the 8" cakes twice and I still don't really know what she said because she said it so fast. I think it boiled down to a vanilla cake with white chocolate icing and a chocolate cake with chocolate icing. So as of today I still don't know what I want to order. She said when I decided to call the main GF bakery number and they would help me. You might want to call Linda back. I'm sure she isn't going to call you. I'm almost inclined to go out of my way to the Boardwalk Bakery and get something.

Linda is not a people person. IMHO :)

But if you pick through the posts here and decide all the details of what you want THEN call her and TELL her what you want she can get it done.

My initial conversation with Linda went something like this:
Me: "I would like to see about ordering a special b-day cake for my dd."
Linda: "We don't do special b-day cakes...only choc or white cake w/ choc or van frosting. You can have Happy B-day written on it"
Me: "Oh, I am sorry, I had a friend order a beautiful cake with mousse filling, fondant, and a white chocolate topper. It was stunning, I didn;t realize they were no longer done. I'm sorry for bothering you. :) "
Linda: "Oh you want an anniversary cake. I guess we can make those for b-days...what were you looking for specifically? I can ask the chef about it."

It took 3 or 4 calls to iron out the details, but in the end I got exactly the cake I had hoped for. Find pics of what you want, choose your frosting and filling, then call her and tell her what you need done. THEY CAN DO IT!! (She just won't make any suggestions, at all.)

yeah i kind of got the feeling she wasnt. i called the boardwalk bakery and they are doing me the mini wedding cake so im all happy now. thanks

Okay I just read through the entire thread! I would like to order an anniversary cake for next year, but I wanted it to be similar to our wedding cake, which was strawberry. I have seen strawberry fillings, but not actual strawberry cake? Is there anywhere in WDW I can order a custom strawberry cake? Thanks!

Ditto, I have not felt the magic the 2 times I spoke with Linda. I was hoping for dessert on our Wishes boat trip, but it must have been a Monday, as she discouraged my idea with so many people on boat. In all fairness, I'm sure she is a very busy lady, who could probably use some assistance answering our many questions. ;)

I resorted to calling the restaurants I wanted special cakes served and they kindly took the time to answer my questions and helped me choose exactally what I wanted. After following this thread for so long and enjoying seeing your yummy pics, I can hardly wait!!! :goodvibes

i am looking for an idea for a Sweet Sixeen Cake other then the castle. We will be taking a Wishes Cruise on the Grand 1. thanks for the help

Stacey

I am also looking for a Sweet Sixteen cake. Let me know if you come up with a good one! We have reservations at CP for lunch on her b-day and I want to give it to her then. I just need an idea!

What about a wrapped present?

This was an anniversary cake on the Grand One we had...maybe if you just used one box wrapped in her favorite colors.

That is a beautiful cake! Do you mind telling me where you ordered it from?

My ds is going to be celebrating his 5th birthday at WDW next year. He doesn't have a specific cake in mind except he wants the frosting to be all orange. Where would be my best bet for ordering a cake that they would tint the cake frosting orange. I do not mind picking it up any where on site. Do they allow you to bring a cake in with you to Chef Mickey as that is where I plan on having his birthday dinner.

Am I understanding correctly? The small cakes (I think 6" that you can order at restaurant for about $20) will NOT have anything Disney or anything written on them? I need a small BDay cake for hubby for Cali Grill. Any help would be appreciated. I perused the thread but there is SO much info I can't get thru it all.

Does anyone know if you can order nut free cakes? Celebrating ds' 9th birthday at the character breakfast at the BC and I'm trying to figure out something special to do for him but he's allergic to tree nuts/coconut.

We'll be staying at the BWI. Is there a way I could order choc strawberries from the boardwalk bakery? Would they deliver them to our room. Any other ideas? We're going to be celebrating our anniversary.

BitsnBearsMom-I don't know that you'll be able to order anything "custom" with that! They can't promise anything because the bags of ingrediants they use have that generic phrase about "produced in a factory or on machinery that processes peanuts, tree nuts, ect" - at least this is what I was told when I ordered all of my cakes! Now, this did NOT stop me from ordering a cake or letting my son (with a peanut allergy amont others) try it (ONLY because he has eaten baked goods before-that don't have a peanut actually in it-and never had a problem). He did not have a problem with anything while we were at Disney thankfully!! I always keep some cookies or fruit snacks on hand just in case we have a treat and find out he can't have it or I just have a bad feeling if I see them making it. Better safe than sorry!!

My cake ordering dilemas....

I called Pop this afternoon at 407-938-3070 to order a cake for a friend while she's there in a few weeks. Had to leave a voicemail. I made sure to leave both cell phone and email to have them get back with me.

Next, I tried 1900 Park Fare at the number from the first page (407-824-2978). Steve told me that I was "one number off" for the custom cakes and transferred me. The *very unpleasnat* woman who answered the phone said the only cakes they had were 6" for $25 and I could have something VERY SHORT written on them! I told her I just ordered a custom cake from them in September for my DS's 4th birthday and it certainly wasn't 6" nor $25. She replied that I must have gotten a 10" cake and those start at $45 with decorations starting at $30. I explained that yes I had a custom cake but did NOT pay $75 for it at all! :scared1: I asked what kind of decorations that included for that price (Mickey himself delivering the cake????). She told me "anything I could think of". So I told her I'd like Little Eistiens for Finding Nemo (specifically Nemo and Crush). She told me she didn't know if they did those and I could leave a voicemail for Linda and she doesn't work on the weekends. So, I left a voicemail for Linda explaining that I'd like another custom cake since the one from September was so amazing. Again, I left my cell and email so hopefully I'll hear back. If not, I'll keep calling-it's so very important. I'm also going to try and dig out my reciept from Sept to find the price I paid too for my reference!;)

Finally, I tried to call CRT at the number from the first page (407-824-7091) and got a voicemail message for the general cake hotline. I did leave my cell number and email address so hopefully I'll hear back this week.

I just want to get this all squared away. I know we've got about three weeks but I need to stash the money away for my budget brain! :goodvibes

Hopefully this info helps someone (it didn't much me yet!:headache: ) but I'll be sure to post back once I hear back from these people or stalk them until I finally get through. I think I'm going to email Disney and complain about the less than magical person who answered the phone this afternoon at the GF bakery.

Have a super day!!!

Why is $75 so outrageous for a cake that YOU want?
Sometimes it's a you get what you pay for situation......$25 for a cake is a steal for the basic so I see $75 as a good thing.
