I spoke with one of the specialty cake people today from the GF hotline...she said they have been having a lot of trouble recently with orders because people see them posted on here (she specifically said the "DISboards") and aren't ordering them properly... hence all the recent inconsistencies.

I tried to get her to tell me what she meant by "ordering them properly..." but she couldn't be real specific. :confused3

So far so good with my order though... I'll post pics when we get back after the 14th! :thumbsup2

what is my cake choice's for tutto italia? I want to do something for my inlaws 30th anniversary?? will they write on the cake??

Well then they need to have a set of guidelines for "proper ordering"! I'm not sure how they could be confused by "I want an [X]-inch cake with [Y]-flavored frosting and [Z]-flavored filling..." :confused3

I was thinking the same thing! You'd think they would have some kind of World-wide "rules" or a website dedicated to the cakes for galleries and such. :confused3 Guess it's just the planner and list-maker in me coming out.

I am so glad I called to check on my cake order! It is for this Sunday, at the CaliGrill. They had the flavor and the writing all right,,,but what they didn't have written down was that it is a dairy free, egg free cake! That could've been a bit of a situation! One with me ending up in the hospital! Glad I called and double checked! I'm nervous now and will be calling to check the day of our reservation now too.

I suppose people are calling with things like "I want the one with the mickey head" or things that aren't too specific. I agree it's not that hard, but for some people apparently it is...:confused3

I want to get a cake for our honeymoon but it will just be the 2 of us. Should I pay the money to get the 8inch cake?! I wanted to order it for Coral Reef!?! Any suggestions?!

Go for it! You can take the rest to go and snack on it throughout the rest of your stay!

Thank you sooooo much for the plastic contanier advice. I think we will do Coral Reef on the last full day of our stay and put the rest in the container! YAY! Thanks so much! I am putting that on a list now!

Slipper Dessert ordered from the Castle:

I did ask for the dark chocolate slipper, I don't know if there was a choice of white or dark...I may have just lucked out! (I added the crown necklace as a gift, it was not part of the dessert.)
$12.50 plus tax and required 18% tip.

Can you order that for different places like CM? I am having my Bachelorette Dinner there and would love to have the Slipper or the Castle cake for Dessert?

Carrot cake for DS 15. at LTT

Ok, carrot cake is NOT available at all from the cake hotline nor any other source. It took a million calls to try to arrange it and still was not there when we arrived. The solution? They ran to the MK bakery, grabbed a full cake worth of the slices that are sold. Then they ran it to the kitchen and smoothed out the frosting as well as possible. Threw some writing on top and delivered it to us.

I would suggest NOT ever trying to get a carrot cake at an MK restaurant, it was nearly impossible, totally screwed up, and confusing beyond reason.

It tasted incredible though. But...Never again! (And if looks mattered at all I would have cried about this cake. Since the flavor was far more important to my son than the looks, it was fine. Deliciously fine.)

We were charged the cost of 8 slices plus tax and tip. Around $40 i think. (can't find the recipt.)

It is only available at the Castle meals in the MK and at any restaurant in the Grand Floridian. The 1900 Park Faire dinner might make a great Bachelorette meal...Cinderella's step sisters are SERIOUSLY HILLARIOUS!!!!

You could order slippers for each of your attendees. The GF slipper dessert is a little different, but still beautiful!!!

that would be great but we had about 15 or so people already coming and to try and change places and times OH no that would be good.

I think I might see if I can order one then and have it picked up by me or someone else and brought over to CF.

Perhaps someone has someone can tell me if this is possile. We would like to get a cake at our resort the All Star Movies. We would be happy with just a small one. Do they do them there?

It should be possible, Call the cake hotline and see if there are prompts to follow for the All Stars.

There have also been reports of being able to go to the food court and there are small cakes available for purchase there....I do not know for sure about that, I hope someone else will come along and confirm for you. :)

Tinker shell bell - did you call ahead and order? If so, who did you call? Thanks!

I'm sorry if these questions have already been answered but I need some help! I have several. I tried to call them but they're closed. I want to pre-order a cake for the night of Oct. 25th while my mom and I are at Teppon Edo. It's a surprise cake! It has to be wheat free though (I have Celiac's) and I don't know if the icing or filling have gluten or anything because I can't have that. If that's how it is then I just won't have any.

From what I understand you cannot customize six inch cakes even if it's in advance? I'd like it to have a message on it and Jiminy Cricket as well. If I can't customize it i'll just get the 8 inch and share with other people at our table XD

I'd also appreciate opinions on the flavoring etc. I would ask my mom but I don't want it to be too obvious. The marble cake sounded pretty good...

Also, what are the options for payment? Thanks for any help!

well i spoke to TUTTO ITALIA today and ordered a cake for our parents 30th anniversary, we are getting 8in chocolate mousse cake for $32.oo

they also had shrawberry shortcake or tiramisu to choose from

or you can get the 6in frozen disney cakes......

I will let you all know how it turns out!!!
if anyne else has had it let me know what you thought or if any picts..

thanks again

Hi Everyone!

I am so excited! DH and I are celebrating our 9th anniversary this year by leaving the kids for a night, and doing Magic Kingdom just the two of us (MNSSHP)!! It has been years since we have been able to do simple things like go on rides together (one always with a munchkin or two!) so this - although crazy to some people - sounds like a fun and possibly romantic night for the two of us!:lovestruc

Now, we are not doing a "fancy" dinner that night - but I did get 745pm dinner reservations for Tony's Town Square Restaurant...does anyone know if I will be able to get a cake delivered there?

From what I gather the slipper dessert is out of the question, but I would love to splurge and surprise him with a cake! SO EXCITED!!:goodvibes
