Official Birthday/Anniversary Cake thread Part II

Just wanted to double-check before I order my cake tomorrow ~

is the anniversary cake at the GF the one they can do with the fondant and stamped Mickey heads?

Thanks :)

Did they do this for you? I had to call three times, and even then they gave me THE hardest time aobut it, saying the stamped mickey's and Donald's are only for people who married at WDW. After 9 mins on hold (with her "checking") they finally said ok. Seriously, I'm spending $100 on a cake for 2 people. You'd think they wouldn't mind to do it, since I could make that cake myself for $8 or less!

They would not let me order the Anniversary cake. Linda said that only couple that were married at the WDW resort could have it. She let me order she gave me a choice of the sara lee cakes that were ordered at the podium. When I mentioned the cute little Mickey and Minnie White chocolate figurine she said that if you want one of those you can also order it at the podium and have them add it to the sara lee cake. She then gave me a choice to to order either a Vanilla cake with White ganoche or Chocolate cake with Chocolate Ganoche. I asked what Ganoch was and she explained that it was like melted candy poured over the cake rather then spread. I ordered the Vanilly white Ganoche cake witht the mickey and minnie white chocolate figurine and it came to 47.00

I am thinking those that got the mickey delight anniversary cakes without getting married at WDW were really lucky. They don't want to make them for just anyone.

That is awful about the mickey head cake. I honeymooned at Disney and spent a ton of cash there and have every year since, yet because I didnt marry there I am out of luck.

Wow someone really needs to take a look at the cake ordering system there especially where it is the year of celebrations. To me if you have a person who is willing to dish out a ridiculous amount of money for a small cake, then the least they could do is take a request or too. I mean come on, how hard is it to take a stamp, stick it in dye and stick it on the cake a few times.

So much for the quote " There are so many special ways to celebrate any occasion at Walt Disney World, just consult cast members to make your dreams come true..."

Does anyone know if the Mickey head cake can be delivered to any resort or restaurant. ??? Also what options do you have with that cake?? Different flavors etc... Thanks!

Thanks, Lurkyloo. I ordered a cake, but I'm wondering why the recordings says chocolate or vanilla, but the hostess said only vanilla?

Oh well, I just need an anniversary surprise. This will do.

Thanks and I will post a pic and review.

If this is a double post, I apologize.....having a problem today.
Here is a pic of our 25th ann. cake. I admit I took this idea from a previous post. We wanted something special and when I saw the pic on these boards I knew that was it. I think the chef misunderstood, however, as I didn't want pink fondant. I wanted white buttercream, which was UNDER the pink fondant (delicious!), he asked for a pic of what I was explaining, so I sent him the pic from these boards, and I wrote in an email to him that we really wanted white buttercream. Anyway, I'm not at all complaining, we were very very happy with this gorgeous cake, I just didn't think my DH would want a pink cake, but he just wanted me to love our cake and I do! The cake itself is marble, the filling - raspberry mousse, with a whitebuttercream under the fondant. I wish I could take our topper home, it's sugar flowers and they are gorgeous! but I don't think I'd be able to take them on the plane as a carry on and I'm not so sure they'd survive the flight!;) Anyway, we celebrated with dinner at the Yachtsman Steakhouse with our twins (19 yrs old & DD's BF - 20). It was so wonderful, the food was amazing (we'd eaten here before) and the service was impeccable! What a great night! Here's the cake.....

Diane! That cake is so beautiful!!! I'm going to see if I can get one like that at California Grill for Easter. Thanks for sharing!!

Anyone have any pictures of the 2009 Celebrations cakes yet?
I am interested in the Princess Jewel box cake.
Anyone know what the centerpiece or goodie bags look like yet?

I ordered the Princess Jewel Box cake for our dinner at 1900 Park Fare on 1/28. We're also getting the Pirate Treasure Chest (twins). When I ordered them through the Dining line it was the first time that CM had ever taken an order for them before, but they did show up as an option. So that's a good sign.

Oh, they are only available at a few locations. It seemed like the character meals and O'hana's. Maybe one or two others. They were not available at Coral Reef.

For $15, I'm not expecting too much. Maybe a cupcake and a few trinkets with a carboard box. But I'm sure my kids will love getting them.

I'll post picts whne I get back.

Thanks,
Heather

I know I ordered ours for the 1/24 at Chef Mickeys and it was the first time the CM took an order so she was a little confused! We will see how it is. :)

Diane - Great Cake - if you wrap the sugar flowers well and if you have a box, I had some bubble wrap from something i purchased then I wrapped them in a t shirt in a box and mine made it back to CT ok. On top of my carry on which I was very careful with.

Glad you had a great anniversary dinner and cake!!!

Thank you so much for the idea of taking the cake top home. I'm going to go to the convention center/business at the BW and see if I can get bubble wrap and try it. Much appreciated!

No problem - hope it works - I wrapped them kinda loose in the bubble so they were not crushed. I was very cautious with my carry on the whole trip home. A box alone might work too as long as nothing gets piled on top of it in your carry on.

All I will have is my backpack and the box with the topper. We are checking bags. Hopefully it will work, I just don't want to leave it here, I rather see it destroyed in an effort to take it home although I'm hoping that doesnt happen! thanks again....

Thank you it was my birthday cake, I have no clue of cost - my husband wanted my 1st birthday with him to be over the top and it was!!

It was done by the Pastry team at the Yacht & Beach club - so any restaurant in any of the 2 resorts. You would have to call and see what they can make - choices do change on what is available - I've learned in the past.

Just put the box under you seat - they are stuffing too much in the overhead on flights I've noticed lately. Good luck - let us know how it works out when you get home.

Hi,

Has anyone ever had a cake delivered to there room at the WL? I am looking for some options for DH's birthday in March. I am looking at either a cake or maybe some strawberries. Does anyone have any pictures or prices? Thanks

I'm looking to order a fondant Mickey head for my DS's birthdays. Does anyone know where I can order it, find a pic and how many it feeds?

TIA..
