Is there a list that shows which rides have the Baby/Child swap option? If there isn't, maybe we can make one. List what rides you have done the Baby swap for and how it went.

There isn't a list anywhere that I know of.

I think you could do a swap for most any ride. The thing that bugs me is that it depends on the CM. They each seem to do it a little differently for the same ride.

No list - and honestly its done differently depending on the attraction and even the CM at the attraction at the time you want to use it. Some give you a rider switch ticket and others have you switch at the end.

Generally speaking any ride with a height restriction will allow you to use baby swap. The reasoning is to allow families with a child who dosen't meet the height requirement to experience the ride without a double wait time.

My best advice is to ask the CM at the attraction you hope to switch on before getting into the line. Also if you make good use of Fast Pass it can work as well or better than rider switch.

We traveled with my 2yo neice and 4yo nephew in December and used baby swap a few times with success. Other times it was just easier to switch ourselves using Fast Pass.

IIRC, Space Mtn, ToT and RNRC gave myt SIL the swap ticket, and Star Tours had us switch at the end.

I've seen this vary greatly from ride to ride. In fact, we were told there was no child swap at RnR a few years back. Yes, it was early in the morning, but the first wave of people had just arrived so dh had to wait a decent chunk of time to get his turn after I took dd and he waited with ds.

So can you use child swap and fast pass together???
How does it work?

Hi Giovanna,

I thought you and your husband looked familiar in your avatar so I clicked on it and realized I recognize you from back in the Wedding Channel days!!! I was bostonteacher on there. Congrats on your pregnancy.

I was recently looking at the WDW website and if you visit the site for each park and click on the attractions it will tell you if there is baby swap or not.

We're making the voyage with our little one next month. Should be interesting.

If you go to the height requirments page and put in very low height - like 20", then you'll get a list of all the rides that have height requirements. Those are pretty much the ones that do "rider swap" for families with young children that can't ride.

Here's a link: The Dis height requirment calculator

Here's the page on how Fastpass works: Disney Fastpass info

You can combine Fastpass with Babyswap by getting the FP first then when you return to use it, get a Babyswap pass from the CM. First group goes in the Fastpass line insead of the Standby line while the parent/child wait outside the attraction. When they get off the ride the first parent who waited switches places with the other parent and uses the babyswap pass to go on the ride again. One babyswap pass usually accomodates three people so if you have a couple of older kids who want to go again, they can. I hope that makes sense! :)

all4fun..........HUGE THANKS! :goodvibes
That explained it very well.
And it looks like my younger DD might really benefit by going with the older DD and DSIL. The younger can ride things twice if she's part of the baby swap.....

One more question..... so does that mean only one parent needs to get a FP?
Which would be great because they could each get a FP for a different ride.

like this.... ?????
Mom gets FP for ride #1
Dad gets FP for ride #2
Mom uses FP to ride #1
Dad uses Baby swap to ride #1
Dad uses FP to ride #2
Mom uses Baby swap to ride #2

Does that make sense???
Thanks,

The parent who uses the child swap pass do not need a fast pass. Also, don't forgot to get a fastpass for a children with you regardless of whether they will actually ride the attraction or not. for example, get a fast pass for your DD and then you, your spouse or another member of your family can use that fast pass.

When these fastpasses are combined with using the child swap it permits numerous extra rides with little or no waiting.

Using MK and having DH, DW & DD you could do the following. Get one fastpass for each of SM, TM & Spce Mtn using each of your tickets once. that way

DH rides SP then DW rides using child swap
DW rides TM then DH rides using child swap
DH rides Space Mountain using fast pass obtained with DD ticket and then DW rides using child swap.

If you have others with you that do want to ride i(n addition to children who can't)they can ride with each parent as the child swap allows the up to 3 people ride with the parent using the child swap ticket.

the child swap allows the up to 3 people ride with the parent using the child swap ticket.
So those 3 people don't need to be other children?
It could be ...say... a grandparent and cousin?

This could really be helpful.
DD and DSIL were afraid that they would not really be able to ride much with us.... but if use FP and child swap ticket.... it would work! :thumbsup2

I could ride with DD while DSIL waits with the baby. Then DD and DSIL can ride together while I wait with the baby. And younger DD can ride both times too. :thumbsup2

Yes, that's correct, the Child Swap pass can be used by three people - they don't have to all be children. :thumbsup2

Runner, that is a killer tip. Talk about taking advantage of the system to your full advantage. Very cool.

The information that I want is how each ride works their child-swap. I remember Space mountain where the kids waited on line with us then I rode and switched with DW right there when I got off the ride. Splash Mountain on the other hand, I remember a ticket to return with.

I am going to start another thread called Post your Child-Swap Experience.

Maybe we can at least get a consensus list going if there is some interest.
