Official Avengers Super Hero Half Marathon Weekend 2014 Thread!

After having participated in several of runDisney's multirace events, I decided to register for the 5k in addition to the Avengers Half.

You can also register on your phone if you're savvy enough. I did Dumbo on my phone on my way to work. LOL.

haha that's awesome! I have an iPhone so I could have registered on my phone BUT I had to be at work when the window opened at 11 AM CST! Thankfully my boyfriend was able to register both of us because he has internet access/an awesome boss that allowed it. It's our first trip to Disneyland, first half marathons, and first RunDisney races. Needless to say we're excited! Now to plan where to stay, flights, and everything else. Thank goodness for the disboards :)

Hi everyone!

This will be our first RunDisney race since the inaugural ToT! We're registered and ready to go. We already had reservations at Fairfield Inn when the race was announced and comic book geek Greg went bananas!

Yay!

Signed up for the half! Looking forward to running with my sister for this one since we both love the Avengers! Ran Tinkerbell in 49ers solidarity; I'll be running this one as Cap...

Made it in this morning from Hawaii at 6am. Was up anyways to get kids ready for school! Wife doing DL half so I get to do Avengers on my birthday! And earn a Coast to Coast in the bargain! What a bday present to myself!

For those interested in a close hotel staying at the Paradise Pier was amazing! I was in coral D for for Tinkerbell and I took the main elevator down to the lobby and my coral was about 40 feet in front of me. If you can swing it,I highly recommend it!

Caitie and I are in for the half! We're staying at the Holiday Inn on Walnut.

Also doing the crazy Wine and Dine/Avengers coast-to-coast !!

We are doing this too!! Although I am only doing coast to coast 5ks, my bf is doing the 1/2s.

Since we are going to WDW as a full vacation I had to arrange my dates correctly so we come back in time for Avengers. So we are doing W&D at the end of vacation. I am a little concerned about tired legs.

But a pretty awesome 2 weekends.

I am at the Best Western Plus. It looked to be fairly central on Harbor. Does anyone know anything about this hotel? It looked like it was close enough that walking to the Parks and the start line would be very feasible. Especially considering how far the WDW races have you walk to get to the start!

Also, what's the best way to get to this area from LAX? We didn't really want to rent a car, I know I saw shuttles from the airport do they drop you off just right near an entrance or how does those work? Any help would be great! Thanks everyone!

If you're referring to the Best Western Park Place Inn and Mini Suites on Harbor, we stayed here a few years back and liked it. It is right at the crosswalk that takes you to the esplanade. Technically I think its the closest hotel to the parks besides GCH. Its a motel style, with exterior corridors. They recently remodeled it and it looks really nice from the outside now. The pool is a bit on the small side but we still enjoyed it.

Also on Harbor is the Best Western Anaheim Inn. We have not stayed there but it is just a few more hotels down the street so still very close.

We're just planning on taxi-ing it from LAX to the hotel upon arrival .... There are a few discounts for limos that I'm looking at also .... I found some on the mouse savers web site.

Nope the Park Place Inn and Mini Suites is the one we are staying at so that sounds perfect! Thank you for the info!. We wanted to make sure we booked quickly as I know a few have already sold out and with having to buy airfare for two kids as well, this trip is already going to be on the expensive side. But at least i get my coast to coast!

do NOT taxi it.. it'll cost you a fortune. SoCal doesn't believe in taxis!! If you want, get the blue Super Shuttle's. they're only $20 and they'll take you to the front door / entrance of the hotel. Disney has their Magical Express Shuttle but it cost money. :(

Taxi from lax is going to be at least $100.

I like Karmel Shuttle personally. Have also used Super Shuttle and Disneyland Resort Express. But Karmel gets my vote. No taxi.

I signed up for half and 5k for my c2c.

This will be by first trip to Disneyland so have a lot of reading to do between now and then. I wasn't planning to do c2c this year but once they announced Avengers I knew I was going.
