We're trying to figure out logistics of moving from BWV to SSR without a car. We are extending our stay because of the winter storm and we were lucky enough to find a place at Saratoga. The last time I stayed at SSR without a car I remember a big problem because they dropped us off at the main lobby area but we could not find anyone that would help us get our luggage to our room. But that was right after Covid and things were understandably difficult.
It sounds like if we got Uber or Lyft they could drop us near our building if we knew where our room was.? Thanks for advice. We are not young and can't handle transporting tons of luggage lol The other option is we just go ahead and rent a car from the car care center or someplace nearby. I do understand that dvc could do the transfer, but we do have a lot of refrigerated items which i understand they will not transfer.

They do have bell services at the main lobby. I've never used it, but I see them loading up golf carts all the time and transporting luggage. If you don't have a car I would think the easiest thing would be to have bell services at BWV do your move to SSR. I don't know what to do about the refrigerated items though. I guess it depends on how bad you want to keep the stuff.

Yes, that is true. There is parking near every building, and every building has elevators. You would need to know your room assignment though. You might not know that before check in time.

I've stayed at SSR lots of times, but I always have a car. It's definitely easiest if you have a car. You could rent a car, and keep all your stuff in it until you got your SSR room assignment.

I would let BW do the luggage transfer BUT take the refrigerated items with you in a separate bag. Could you use a piece of luggage or just a shopping bag? Depends on how much you have and the bulk of everything. Once you find out your room number just use the internal bus to get to your room. That's what I would do.

Whenever we do split stays, we let the hotels do the luggage and we have never had an issue. We do take a spare change of clothes in a backpack just in case. We do this with kids so we often have a swimsuit plus clothes.

Just plan out your transfer day and it will be fine!

We stayed at SSR last summer and we loved it. We were not put off by the buses at all.

Bell Services will not transfer refrigerated items, so those you would have to transfer yourself. I would use a rideshare and take your luggage and refrigerated items with you, if you get your room number in advance the driver could drop you off at your building. If not, they do have bell services who can store all your stuff and can then take you and your luggage to your room when it is ready. It may have been challenging before, as you mentioned, due to covid. Again, if you get to SSR with your luggage and refrigerated items and your room isn't ready, they will store it all for you.
