This will be my first time doing a DL race. I've done a number of the Disney World ones so I am pretty excited. With a 4 year old and 2 year old we are certainly looking forward to seeing the west coast park for the first time! I am mostly excited to go home and tell my kids in November we can go see Lighting McQueen!

You'll have a great time -- Cars Land is amazing, and from how much we enjoyed the parks being more compact as two grown adults, I can only imagine that parents enjoy it more while getting their kids from one attraction to the next! Have a great time!

The planning side of me has already gone into action so I have a few questions.

It's my first time in Disneyland and I plan to stay on property. (Yes I know it's not exactly the same as staying on property at Disney World.) Are all three hotels the same in terms of ease of getting to the start line? I'd love to know what people's experiences are with this.

Also do most people book their hotel and park tickets with the rundisney discount? Is that the best discount? It's been a few years since I've done a run disney race and I can't remember.

Yes all 3 Disney hotels are on the same street actually.. They're all close to the start/finish. sometimes AAA or Agents will have the same or better discounts.

I'm in for both half and 5K! Very excited, first Disneyland Race. Will be doing Wine and Dine the week before, and 2nd Dopey Challenge in Jan!
I think we'll be on property too, easy with two little kids…..

I got in with no problems. I ordered a pin as I always do for Disney races but last time I ran they didn't offer necklaces. Anyone know what the necklaces typically look like?

Going to have to keep up with this thread as it's my first Disneyland half and my first Disneyland trip altogether.

I don't have a pic to post but I got the necklaces for the Dopey and all it's races and the Tower of Terror last fall. They are all on delicate ball chains and the charms are small, silver and pretty - usually the character image from the medal. The ToT's charm was in colour - personally I liked my Dopey ones better.

Hi! My DH & I are signed up for the half (please add me to the list and are staying at the La Quinta that is just east of the park...anyone know how easy it will be for us to walk to the start line?

For Tink and for Avengers I booked PPH through GET travel. It was the best rate I was able to find. The AP discount wasn't available by the time I was booking. And as PP stated all 3 hotels are extremely close to the start line.

Anything Dopey was sold out pretty quickly in Jan and as this is the inaugural for the Avengers I would bet the same - I would pre-order just in case, especially if you won't be there to line up to get into the Expo on the first morning.

So what time did it (the half) actually sell out? I registered right at noon EST, hung out online a bit to read the excitement (here and on Facebook) then headed out to run some errands. When I came home, it was sold out! But I'm just curious exactly how long it took? 2 hours? 2 and a half?

Okay anyone know of what other travel companies there are that would maybe offer a 5k slot besides Get Travel there are? All ready checked out Charity spots. But I want to check everyone out before I sit down with the information with my parents.

This information is not for me its for someone in the family who thought they told me they changed their mind on running the 5k. Maybe they did maybe they didn't. But I sure as hell don't remember them telling me they wanted to run the 5k after saying earlier this week they didn't. So looking in for another way in.

might have to check back later in a couple weeks. the other travel agencies/etc should get more info and will post them up accordingly. Hsubusu (sp?) has a prominent spot with DL races.

I was able to add the 5K to my existing half marathon race for this weekend. I am looking forward to this race weekend.
