** Official August 2024 Thread **

A bit of a scramble for me making my selections today. I had 9 days to book. 3 people booking in 3 accounts. The same credit card on all the accounts. I called the credit card (DIsney VISA) ahead of time and warned them 9-12 charges totaling $1500 in a small amount of time on Sunday morning. Cards got rejected from husbands account (he is a named person on the account) and son's account (he is not named on my credit card account) Furthermore, my husband entered a different credit card and it wouldn't take that either. Bottom line -- I was the only one who could book. Also, I got one fraud notice which I told them to push through, but I need to call them, because it may have been a charge for one of the purchases that DIsney rejected. I have to wade through all of the receipts.

I made two mistakes -- on a DHS day I forget to hit select all. I didn't cancel. I was able to book for the others within 5 minutes of my times, including Slinky. The other mistake was I booked TRON for all 4 of us instead of just 2 of us. Not sure what to do about that. It would be nice if husband and I could just hand over our bands to the boys to ride again but I think that's a no-no, so I guess I'll ride it.

I had no problems getting LLSP. I don't think it is necessary to get them first.

I did cancel my ADRs and rebooked them after I was finished this morning. I only had 4 and I checked to make sure there were lots of openings before doing so. I probably didn't need to do this for the later days of the trip, but it helped with the beginning days.

I was able to get every ride I wanted, but not every time I wanted. I wanted Mission space before noon on my first day. I couldn't get it. My rides times on my 2nd day, DHS, are all over the place, but I do have one at 10:40am -- but this day didn't get booked right at 7am because of the credit card issues.

After you finish booking, I suggest that you go into My plans on your laptop. You can more easily see who was selected for each ride

I was thinking of having my husband help but now I think I will just do the booking so we don’t have the same issue with things being rejected. I don’t want to split between different cards (I was actually thinking of using a Disney gift card I just don’t know how much of a pain that will be ) and it seems like each having our own account and paying by a different card would keep things from being rejected.

I wonder if you can get refunded on those 2 LLSP?

In the main thread for planning LLMP/LLSP I received two suggestions:

1. try the chat and ask for a refund, if not call
2. don't worry about giving your bands to your kids to use

I think I'll make a day of decision. If we don't get VQ, I'll use the LLSP. If we do get VQ, I'll give it to the boys.

I did get Tiana on 3 MK days. I was a bit worried about getting it on on the days MK closes early for MNSSHP. Our first MK day was day 3 of the trip, I got 4:35 (park closes at 6pm, so I guess it's almost out?). The other days were days 6 (MK closes early) and day 8 and I got 930am, 905am.

Our MK day is our third trip day, so we are really hoping to get Tiana's in the morning (it is a party day, so @123SA report makes me feel more hopeful). I believe you can also get a VQ for Tiana's? Are people generally having luck with this?

Yes, VQ is still an option for Tiana. Somewhere along the line I read a reminder that Disney did state that the VQ will be available for a short amount of time...and who knows what that means? 2 months, 2 years? Short compared to what? And, they won't necessarily let you know a week in advance that they are removing VQ. They didn't give a lot of lead time when it dropped from ROTR apparently. This is why I didn't want to take a chance on not having a LLMP.
I'm not planning to try VQ for Tiana because I have been assuming that the wait will be long for VQ return and since my MK days are on party days, I don't want to spend over an hour at TIana between waiting and riding. However, I've been obsessing over LLMP planning and haven't been tracking what is going on at Tiana...other than it is breaking down a lot :(

My day was yesterday and I was surprised how late I had to book rides for the first two days of our trip. I never thought I’d have trouble getting alien spinning saucers before noon 🤦‍♀️ I keep trying to modify and wonder if AM times will pop up the day of?

Somewhere I read check at 4:00AM EST tomorrow -- before you are 3 days out. I'm not kidding. Apparently they add capacity. But I'm not sure if it's every ride. I plan to do this for my DHS day.

Do you mean that three days before resort reservation, at 4:00am, they might drop more rides? If this is true, I would get up for Tiana's.
ETA - we will be at airport at 4:00am three days before our resort check in (for 6:00am flight), so we will already be up - might as well be productive!

Our flight was cancelled 10 minutes before boarding as we were approaching the gate. We decided that, screw it, we’d drive. Then we found out, three hours later, that our bags went down on the one flight that actually went from JFK to MCO today.

Currently approaching Richmond.

The person who did this said they were successful modifying at 4am EST 5 days out from their reservation -- I think it was 5 days out from the day they were booking as well, might have been 6. I did ask if it was at the 3 day mark because I thought that would make sense for Disney to add capacity then, but the answer was 5. They didn't plan this, it was just the timing of when they heard the advice to check. I think there has to be more available before 3 days out than after, so I plan to check before and probably after if I am not successful.

That’s a hike! Travel safe.

We stopped in Fayetteville overnight. I can’t get over how comfortable and nice the holiday inn express is. Beds are amazing.
Amazing!! Can’t wait to hear that you’ve made it safe.

You are lucky to be driving tbh. At the airport (east coast) this morning for a separate trip and all early flights to Florida are cancelled, everything else “delayed” for now.

You can give your bands to your boys so that they can ride Tron a second time. The CMs don't care. :)
