***Official August 2022 Thread***

I'm sure that they will make substitutions for you. :)

Let's put it this way, I don't think that they will say a word to your family if you bring a QS meal in for him. They are very nonconfrontational at Disney. :)

This was a while ago, but we went and got a QS meal for my daughter while eating at the plaza. No issues, I didn’t advertise it but we just did it.
Thanks y'all! I'm at the point where I'm over thinking everything.

starting to have a bit of anxiety for our first trip with 2 kids lol. also work is so busy i have not had time to get organized yet and i usually do that like a month before (we leave on the 12th). thinking of taking a day off next week just to prep haha.
I hear you. I had planned a blissful week after the classes we teach ended but before the trip to relax, get organized, clean and pack. Instead my husband decided to redo the dining room floor, the house is in shambles and my teenage child’s best friend is having a family crisis and might move. (So. Many. Tears.) I keep thinking if I can only make it to departure day…

My trip starts the 31st and goes until the 5th. My Epcot day is September 1st, which is a Thursday. Touring Plans has that day set as an expected crowd level 1. I'm curious - would you purchase Genie Plus for this? I am leaning toward no, and just trying the virtual queue for Guardians.

Also - do you know if you can buy the ILL for Guardians as well as try for the Virtual queue, or is it one or the other?

You can get the VQ and buy an ILL on the same day for GOTG. Try to VQ at 7AM first, and if you don't get it you should have your pick of the ILL return times. You will also still be eligible for the 1PM VQ, and if it's a Monday and you're staying deluxe, you'd be eligible for the 6PM VQ too. User experience on the boards shows it's way easier to get a 1PM VQ than a 7AM (or 6PM) VQ.

As for crowd ratings, I believe it's all relative. Crowds may be low, but Disney can still inflate waits by running fewer ride vehicles and having lower staffing throughout the park. I plan to check out wait times periodically the week before and use that as a gauge if we need G+. Personally, I like using G+ when park hopping, so if you're able to take advantage of Epcot and another park, you can use G+ efficiently.

Good points. I'll check how they are that week before I purchase. We aren't hopping, so I am just not sure it makes the most financial sense.

17 days! I've made so many changes since our first reservation it's odd to have things mostly settled! I decided to add in Typhoon Lagoon on the day of MNSSHP and switch our park ticket to our arrival day, so we'll see how that goes. Can't rope drop on arrival day so I'm coaching myself to just relax, let my daughter have some pool time, and get to MK when we get there.

Also--the primary purpose of the trip is to ride GotG (and Remy), so we're going to try to ride it multiple times on Monday. Is it right that in an ideal world, you could get multiple VQs and pay for ILL? (I'm not that quick--but I would like to do one VQ and ILL if possible!)

my friends who will be there 8/20-8/27. Do we think the parks are going to be busy ??? I booked that week thinking that crowds would be low but now I'm second guessing myself and debating on getting Genie+. I wasn't planning on it, I thought of just getting Rise if need be. Im just starting to stress a bit 😭

I believe you can only get the VQ once and the ILL once. Im not sure if you can buy the ILL twice for the same ride though.

We will be there the same dates! I thought it would be slow but dining reservations were nearly impossible to get. We went ahead and got genie+ just in case.

I might end up getting it too! I was concerned about the dining being so difficult to get too. We shall see!
