*******Official August 2017 Countdown Thread ~ Feeling hot, hot, hot!!!******

In the same boat but have not done any school shopping yet! Is it bad that planning and packing is a higher priority for me than SCHOOL...lol!!!
I've got you beat. Not only have I done ZERO school shopping yet, I still need to pull DS from his previous school and get him registered at the school he'll be attending next year. That's my project for next week though. Gotta get through his birthday first

Yeah... He turns 10 on Monday, which is kind of a big deal. BUT we are keeping it super low key. Just cupcakes and play time at the park down the street. It's supposed to be in the 90's here in Seattle and there's a spray park in addition to great playground structures and shade. I'm not even reserving a picnic area, Just going to show up and if we are lucky enough to get one, great, if not we'll have a folding table to set up for serving the cupcakes. It's the party he asked for so it's the party he's getting LOL

He's gone to school in a neighboring district from k-4th grade due to childcare but it's time to transfer him to our neighborhood school. The bus stop is only 3 houses down and it'll give him the chance to make local friends before heading into junior high. HOW is my baby only a year from being in junior high???

Not at all!! I'm bracing myself for a trip to Walmart this weekend to get all their supplies and be done! lol

3 more weekends for us as well.

School supply shopping is done.
Will probably wait to get them new school clothes until the weekend we get back.
Garden grocer ordered
got our pack list ready, just waiting to start packing
Picking up toiletries tonight so I can start packing those at least.
Need to label school supplies yet

Not much more can be done for the trip except wait at this point

We get back on Tues 9/5 and they start school Wed 9/6. I will have their uniforms ironed also before we leave. Did the same thing last year and it was a little less hectic upon our return.

Have school supplies organized (we get back 1 day before school starts). DD has started organizing stuff she needs for her apartment. Got 2 suitcases out (need several more out LOL). Most things bought/boxed and ready to go in car that we need for resort. But my to do list is still MILES long.
OTOH-got my nails and hair done yesterday on on day off (priorities LOL-always do Disney nails prior to trip)

Oh! Thanks for hair reminder! I need to schedule my appointment. Scheduled the girls for next weekend but need to try and fit in mine before. I have curly hair and it takes a minute to adjust to a new haircut. I have to at least try and look nice for our pics! lol

Yep. I tracked ours daily (who are we kidding, multiple times a day), and wasn't expecting them until today - imagine my surprise when they showed up earlier than expected, on Saturday!
Have fun waiting!

I got an update they arrived in IL last night. They are on the move! lol

I also have to get thru DDs family party before we we go. I tried to tell her shes GOING! TO! DISNEY!! For her bday........that should be enough. But, she wasnt buying

Fortunately we're back 2 weeks before school starts. And I have been absolutely FORBIDDEN from even mentioning the "S" word until we return.

It's possible I'm putting together a to-do list in secret though. Don't tell him. :ssst:

Dang kids. I've been telling DS the same thing for a year and he just gives me side-eye and tells me that I already gave him a Disney trip for his 8th birthday

We get back home on the 23rd of August, and school doesn't start here until September 5th, so we have almost 2 weeks to get it together after we get home from Disney :)

OMG! Some of us are there, some of us going soon!!!! August is upon us!!! I'm so sorry for being an absent host, I think my crazy is going to last right up until we sit down on the airplane!! :faint:

17 days for us. I still need to make packing lists, pack, and think about school shopping too! Our kids don't go back until 9/5, so I'll have a little time after we get back on the 29th to take them shopping....if we have any money leftover...:rotfl2:

In addition to the Disney trip at the end of the month, we leave for a 10 day camping trip tomorrow, which leaves us with 2 weeks to get all the school shopping done before Disney. I think Amazon is going to become Santa this month lol.

Two weeks from right now, we'll be in the middle of our Disney Fairytale Wedding ceremony at Canada Terrace in Epcot! It took so much planning to get here, and now that it's suddenly so close I don't know where the time went! So excited for our trip, and for everyone else who's already in WDW or leaving soon!

OMG--I have such Disney brain right now it is hard to comprehend doing "real world" tasks like registering for school, shopping for supplies, yahdah, yahdah, yahdah......

I have DD19 leaving for sophomore year at college one week after we return and DD16 starting school 2 days after the college "move" day. DD19 is pretty set except for her procrastinating organization of the crap she brought back from last semester and what she is taking this semester. It is still in boxes and bags from move-out day back in May.

I would rather think about being in Disney in two weeks......:cloud9:
