The pix for the River Journey ride (and all of Pandora at night) look very cool. I haven't seen any pics or read any reports of what the Flights of Passage ride is like.....have people been on it yet? I'll have to watch Avatar before our trip so I have some sort of idea what the whole place is about because I have not a clue. It looks cool anyways, even not knowing what the story is.
It's going to be so stressful trying to decide which ride to FP (and which to ride standby). We're only doing AK at night so its not like we can rush to ride one of them standby at Rope drop.

The son of a fellow TA in my agency went to the CM preview with his dad (a CM). Apparently you are strapped in REAL GOOD for Flights of Passage lol!! She commented that you are strapped down hard by the shoulders, made me think of Stitch's Great Escape That's really all she said except that her son liked it; also shared some gorgeous pictures of the plant life in there. I'm going to the AP Preview on May 20th, I can't wait!!

So, it sounds like FoP is something DD and I will do. Had to wait on reports to make sure it's not too much of a "thrill" ride for DD, and it sounds fine. Now the million dollar question -- which ride to FP? I'll have about 2 weeks after Pandora officially opens to try to figure out the strategy.
We're only doing AK for a few hours one evening - basically just safari, dinner, Pandora, & RoL. We probably wouldn't stay after RoL even if they have extended hours.

Check out the "Official Pandora" board. Lots of information coming in with Media/CM previews. Pics of the ride vehicles and restraint system. Looks amazing!

Just checked out the Pandora thread.....getting a little concerned about the ride restraints for myself and DH. I am concerned about my calves fitting as I am cursed with calves that don't fit in ANY wide calf boots (thank you GPa for that family gene ). DH is 6'2" and has a large midsection. I am now watching the thread for more guest experiences. Hopefully we can make a decision before FP selection in June.

Halloween Party tickets are up. Got my three sets today - now doing the happy dance.

We are coming home 8/27-9/2. Typically we always visit late September, like the last two weeks. In previous years, September was a great month to visit..crowds were low and wait times were little to nothing..however on our last trip (9/23/15-9/29/15) wait times were INSANE. Like, TOT never went below 105 mins! So, this year we are trying out the last week of August. Mostly because my kids are older and in school and I don't want to take them out. Tell me how the crowds are? I see people saying moderate? Has anyone gone this week? I'm concerned with Labor Day coming right at the tail end of our trip. No matter what we will make it a good time. Any tips or ideas for me? I plan to use FP for sure for the rides we really want. September is HOT so I know August will be as well. Give me some insight Thanks ya'll!

We always have to go during this time - (teacher). Crowds are moderate and manageable. While it gets more quite mid week it picks up again a bit at Labour day weekend, but we were always able to have fun at the parks. Be aware though - good thing - Food and Wine Festival starts early this summer, on August 31 and Halloween Parties start even earlier on August 25.

The week leading up to labour day is my favourite week. We've been going since 2010. I'd say crowds are low the Monday to Thursday before labour day. Last year there was a tornado warning and predictions of wild weather which didn't amount to much. That helps to keep the crowds down.

We have gone mid to late August 11 years in a row (teachers - our summer holidays). It is hot and crazy humid, but the crowds have been very manageable. We are big rope drop people (so we can break from parks around 2-5 when it gets busy and hot). We get a lot done early, keep hydrated, take air conditioned breaks / meals, and use our FP+. We are going back for our 12th August trip in a row, so we think it's great! We've been at Christmas before and that was way too busy - we are quite happy with August. Like any trip to Disney, a little planning and preparation goes a long way. Have fun and happy planning!

So jealous! Last year we went home the day of the first party and this year we are leaving on the 21st. I guess I should just be happy I'm going to Disney since we actually were not planning on it this year (Mediterranean cruise) ... but we are doing both Fingers crossed that we get to the party next year.
