**Official August 2016 Check In Thread**

The wife really wants to do the Blue Bayou package but I'm thinking the kids won't enjoy that? Would Aladdin be better?

My son loved BB when he was 5. He talks about it constantly still. He loves the POTC so that helps and he was tickled pink and kept busy with the glow cubes that came in our drinks. I think your kids will enjoy it.

We check in on 8/2 for 5 nights after an Alaskan cruise and trip down the coast from Seattle. We just switched from club level at PP to a regular room at GCH. We have been seeing online that the PP pool is under refurbishment from 7/25-tbd. Disney couldn't tell us if it was actually happening or not and if so when it would be done. So we moved! A little bummed about losing club level but definitely excited about being right at the CA entrance!

60 days out from our trip today! I'm getting pretty excited to start making dining reservations over the next few days. Anyone else getting ready to make their reservations?

So we've decided to do the Blue Bayou PTN and Ariel's Grotto WOC packages. Anyone have recommendations on what to order?

DD and I will be at DL from July 29 - August 7 so guess our trip falls into this thread too! :-)

Will be celebrating my 50th on August 4th and plan to have a nice dinner at Carthay Circle. It will only be the two of us, so not sure if we should order a cake from Disney but those cakes look so good! LOL

Officially booked yesterday after I came across Virgin flights for $277 round trip from NYC!

Staying at HOJO from August 22-27. This is our first DL trip after many many times at WDW. We are SO excited!

Nice price on the flights! Enjoy your trip!

My kids have been going to BB since they were 5. They both love it and would be very disappointed if we missed it! Arrive before your reservation time and ask for a table by the water. They'll tell you 30 minutes wait but I've never had it be more than 20, usually more like 15.

I'm planning a trip for just me for August 24th and 25th! Treat yo self!!

I haven' been to Disneyland since 2007, I'm super excited to see how different it looks now! I'm staying at an Airbnb, nothing fancy, but much more affordable.

Looking forward to Carsland and Frozen Live!!

I have a friend in Disneyland right now and it's just making me that much more excited for my trip! 55 days! And I've booked Afternoon Tea at the Grand Californian and the World of Color Dessert Party! We'll probably make a few more reservations, but those were the two I definitely wanted - now my mom and sister just need to decide where they want to eat!

I'm starting to get a little anxiety about not being able to see everything - I think a big part of it is that used to WDW where we would have our park hours and entertainment schedules by now!

We'll be back at the GCH from August 13th through 16th. Just me and my DDs this trip (they just turned 19 yesterday!). First time for one of them! We can't wait to share everything with her we experienced on our first trip just last month!

I was just looking at the new Frozen PTN packages.....:crazy2: too steep for me! Our dining window opens up in about 10 days or so....still trying to decide :dogdance:

August 13 to 20. Got reservations at both the Camelot and Tropicana. Heavily leaning towards the Camelot.

Just booked dining reservations for the 10th through 15th! Booked a Plaza Inn lunch, a Blue Bayou lunch, WoC dessert party, and ... a cabana at the DLH for a day! It's getting real ... :) Thinking about booking a WCT dinner as well.

My son and I are headed down to Disneyland at the end of August. We'll be there from the 21st to the 27th. The first four days at Disneyland then at least one day up at Universal. I really want to check out the new Harry Potter world. We'll be staying at the Camelot Inn. I've never stayed there before. Hopefully the walk isn't to far from the main gate.
Hello! We are going August 22 - 27 and staying at Camelot Inn. It is our first time staying there as well. We usually stay at Park Vue Inn (which is very near the crosswalk) but they were full. I don't think this will be a bad walk at all. We stayed at Cortona Inn and Suites last time, which was much further away, and walked a couple times. We really like how close the hotels are that are right across the street.

I was planning for June 26-July 1, but an injury has forced me to cancel. So, the new plan is August 22 - 27th. I will be driving down from Oregon with my 3 children (who aren't all children anymore). We wanted to fit a trip in before my daughter leaves to go to Japan for 10 months. She is super excited to go to Tokyo Disneyland. I have three kids, 21 year old son, 19 year old daughter and 12 year old daughter. We have been to Disneyland several times (only 3rd trip for my youngest though) and WDW twice. We will be staying at Camelot Inn. I have always liked the look of this hotel, but always passed it up due to no complimentary breakfast. I have never been too impressed with the free breakfast at hotels, so decided to stay at Camelot. The room we got has a lot of sleeping capacity. My kids hate to share a bed, so I always have to book a suite, but 2 have outgrown the bunk beds. So, we got 1 King, 2 Queens and a sleeper sofa. I hope it is comfortable.

Since I newly booked this, I haven't even begun to decide park days or what day we will do the Aladdin PTN package. We thought about Blue Bayou, but I have the world's pickiest eaters, so I just couldn't justify it. My kids eat Stouffers lasagna, so Aladdin's can't be worse than that, can it?

We were so upset when Aladdin was cancelled to bring in the Frozen show and we weren't sure if we even wanted to watch it. But now, we are pretty excited to see it. We weren't huge Soarin' fans, but we might see the new movie, just to see if we like it more. I am determined to see WoC this trip and PTN. So, that is about all for now. So, excited to still get a trip in before the 60th celebration ends.

I ended up changing to the Disneyland Hotel, I think my walk will be a little bit further but I will be crossing this off my bucket list so that's good. We will stay there 3 nights then drive to Universal Studio and stay in the Burbank area for more nights. I decided life is short, I've always wanted to stay in the DLH and I really didn't want to fight the traffic getting up to Universal and back.

I am so looking forward to this trip!
