**Official August 2016 Check In Thread**

I'm so excited I have our dining reservations made for the first half of our trip now. I was going to wait and do them all at once but when I saw that they were available that first day I just couldn't hold off. Now I just have a few hard ones to get and hubby is really interested in the $99 Frozen lunch and pre-show package so I'll be on the lookout for reviews on that one.

We have been seeing online that the PP pool is under refurbishment from 7/25-tbd. Disney couldn't tell us if it was actually happening or not and if so when it would be done. !

PPH Pool and Recreation Manager confirmed PPH Pool refurbishment taking place 8/22/16 - 8/26/16! Thought folks might want to know.

We stayed at GCH last August for our first family trip. We loved California so much we're returning to see other things...but still stopping at Disney for a few days! This time around, we're staying at DLH August 20 - 23. We're just going to do one day in each park and a day at the pool to chillax. Debating on whether to make any dining reservations or eat on the fly. Last year we really enjoyed the WOC package at Carthay Circle - we had a great view of the Pixar Play Parade & the food was delicious and we had great views of WOC. Really a win all around!

We check in on 8/2 for 5 nights after an Alaskan cruise and trip down the coast from Seattle. We just switched from club level at PP to a regular room at GCH. We have been seeing online that the PP pool is under refurbishment from 7/25-tbd. Disney couldn't tell us if it was actually happening or not and if so when it would be done. So we moved! A little bummed about losing club level but definitely excited about being right at the CA entrance!

I am staying club level 8/16-24. I received a letter in the mail from Disney that the PPH pool will be closed 8/21-8/26 and that I can use both DLH and GCH pools instead. I consider it a win since we can check out the other resort pools. I hope it's not closed as early as you've read about.

I don't think it will be. We were concerned about sharing a pool with 3 hotels worth of guests so we moved. We are only there 5 days though so every moment is precious and we had to make a decision. In hindsight we probably would have stayed at PP if we had the dates but they couldn't tell us at the time. We lost club level but are excited to be at the CA entrance and my daughter is now sharing bunk beds with her cousins so she is excited.

I ended up changing to the Disneyland Hotel, I think my walk will be a little bit further but I will be crossing this off my bucket list so that's good. We will stay there 3 nights then drive to Universal Studio and stay in the Burbank area for more nights. I decided life is short, I've always wanted to stay in the DLH and I really didn't want to fight the traffic getting up to Universal and back.

I am so looking forward to this trip!
I read that you had switched. I am sure you are going to have a great time.

In 5 weeks today, we'll have arrived at our pre-flight hotel - then we'll have 2 weeks of travelling from LA around California, to end up at Disney! I can't wait!
Booked our dining too - Blue Bayou, World of Colour Dessert party, Steakhouse 55 and Goofys Kitchen :D
Hoping we can do Carthay Circle Lounge for lunch one day (couldn't really afford another table service meal!)

Steffi x

I've got all our dining booked now I'm soooooo impatient waiting for hours to come out. Last I checked they were posted through August 11th. I still have a week to wait until our vacation starts to show up! I have my spreadsheet all set up just waiting to drop the park hours in!

We will be heading back to DLR August 14th - 18th. First two nights at Grand Legacy (unless a better deal pops up, but the 1pm check in time for APs is really nice), second 2 nights at DL Hotel!

I am right there with you!! We are WDW vets and planning is part of fun and anticipation leading up to the trip!! I understand we don't need to "plan" as much for DL, but this is killing us waiting on those park hours!!

My dining window opened and of course, not all the times are listed because it always takes a couple of extra days for all the times to open up. Why Disneyland.com - why??? Why do you tease me so? You say I can book at 60 days out and then you give me 2:45 for a dinner time......:P

It's ok....I know the times will be filled in the next couple of days. Just gives me more time to peruse menus lol

As for the times.....come ON!!!!! Again, the times for my January 2017 WDW trip are already announced thankyouverymuch. So I know what time I can be at Epcot for mid January but I still don't know what time rope drop is for Disneyland the last week of August :headache:

Don't mind me, apparently I'm just grumpy today :eeyore:

Hit my window and booked Blue Bayou and WOC dessert party. Only thing left to do is the Frozen pre-show. Waiting to hear a few more reviews but I think it's worth $98 to skip fast passes and getting to pick our seats.

I have both a regular Carthay reservation and one of the Frozen lunches with ore-show booked. Hubby really wants to do the Carthay package. I want to hear more reviews first

Knocked out the first few dining reservations with Blue Bayou being the priority at the DW's request. What the DW wants, the DW gets. :thumbsup2

I like your thinking :thumbsup2 My dh is being a party pooper - he's agreeing to the Paint the night on the go package so we can get priority seating to PTN (missed it last October, grrrrrr and he never heard the end of it!) but doesn't want to make any more dining ressies. Wants to do quick service and/or leave the parks to eat. :headache:

I thought it was time to start an August 2016 check in thread!!:cheer2::cheer2:

Post here if you are visting Disneyland/DCA in August 2016! What are your dates and where are you staying?:goofy:

I'll start.

We'll be there August 29 to September 2nd, our first time staying at HOJO! We were last at the parks October 2015 and I'm so excited to be able to celebrate the 60th anniversary twice!!!!:tinker:
Travelling will be myself, dh and our two daughters who will be 5 and (just turned two weeks prior to our trip) 8.

Will also be doing 1 day at Universal this trip. I haven't been to Universal since 2003 (dh was last there 2012, but I had to fly home a day early that trip and missed out!)
:tinker: HAH!! Now i can post that even though I don't know how!!:cheer2:

LOL

Anyway So I'm going either august 14th week of, or August 21st (week of). Five Days. IF you see a very giggly and awkward short girl with a dyed mohawk It's probably me. Last year I ran into Justin Scarred from Randomland and did not know who he was yet so its almost certain that even by accident one of you will run into me so fair warning, I'm weird.

Possibly staying at suites at annaheim Holiday Inn or whatever its called north of the parking garage. Could also be staying at any one of the motels around the park's perimeter. I really gotta iron this out you guys are all so ready and I'm here like Lah dee dah Idk what I'm doing!
