Want to stay in GCH or Disneyland Hotel. Do other sites offer any kind of discounts for these hotels?

You can sometimes find discounts on Disneyland resort hotels, I managed to get the GCH in February for $229/night by using Orbitz when they offered a 20% off code. I've been checking all the usual sites for good rates for onsite hotels in August but I have not found any decent ones yet. Sadly for me, most of the sites charge in U.S. funds and any discount I can get is absorbed by our crappy exchange rate.

DH just called me at work to say his dad is going to DLR in August and can we go too. So here we are with tentative plans to be there Aug. 10-14th for our first trip back since 2006. We'll be driving down from the Seattle area in our RV and staying at the Anaheim Resort RV Park with our three daughters who will be 13, 10 and 8.

We're keeping this a secret from our kids for now since everything is so very tentative at this point. We had an amazing 2-week WDW trip this last Christmas and the girls are perfect ages for all the rides, characters and shows. They'll be very excited if we can pull this off.

Planning for August 9-11, staying at Carousel Inn for first time. Suite was cheaper than two rooms most other places. Looking forward to 60th celebration.

We bought our plane tickets today (well, I bought mine today; my best friend and her mother bought theirs yesterday) which is awesome! We're so excited!

Purchased our park tickets last night! That was our biggest expense for the trip so I'm glad to have that out of the way. And our kids still have no idea we're going.

Hello fellow August travelers! We've had our August trip planned for several months, but I've been too busy with work and school to be on the DIS and to be paying attention to trip planning. My course is getting close to wrapping up now, so I'll be able to spend a bit of time on here...

This will be our 5th annual family trip to DLR and our second Disney vacation of 2015, as we visited WDW for spring break. Originally, we were going to come to DLR in March, but with all of the ride closures and the price of flights being so high, we thought August would be a better bang for our buck. And then we won a trip to Florida, so our Spring Break trip became a Florida trip instead of a California trip! We loved it in WDW, but I really missed DCA and Carsland and didn't really enjoy taking the buses to get from place to place in WDW.

Last year we upgraded our free air miles passes to APs, so we'll be traveling a week before our passes run out. We'll be arriving on August 11th and leaving on the afternoon of the 19th. We're starting off at Hojo in a kids suite, then switching over to GCH half way through our stay. We've been to DLH twice, and wanted to try the grand this time. Can't afford to stay there the whole time, though. We'll also go to Knotts at some point during the trip, as we haven't been there before.

I'm excited to meet you all and hear about your trips (and Hi to my "municipality neighbour" Aladora! We're both going in August again, but this time our trips won't overlap. Would love to get coffee with you some time and I can give you the low down on WDW if you like!)

Rubygoose, HELLO! I thought you usually went to DL in August and I was wondering if you were going to pop into this thread!

I would love, love, love to meet for coffee and to talk about WDW, we are definitely going in December and I could use all the help I can get!

Maybe when the kids are out of school you could bring them over to play while we chat!

We added a day! Arriving 7/31 now leaving 8/6, DLH. We didn't like the flight times for 8/1 so we decided to come in a day early. Yeah!

Thanks to orbitz 20% off, since Disney seems to be stubborn with not giving summer discounts for Disneyland, was able to book 5 nights at GCH. Can't wait for August 10!
