We haven't had a QOTD in a while. Its a rainy Monday here, so I'll break the boredom and toss one out:

How far in advance of your departure date do you get your luggage out?

Do you pack little by little, or in a mad panic right before you leave?

What is the strangest item that goes into your suitcase?

Luggage comes out about a week before the trip.

We pack little by little, but no matter how organized I am, there is always some kind of mad packing crisis before we leave.

Strangest item????? I'll have to think about that.

What is the strangest item that goes into your suitcase?

I usually start packing the week before. I have a list of things to replenish though that I do about a month in advance so I don't forget things like replacing travel size tooth paste, shampoo, etc.

This year, the weirdest thing we are packing is a travel size kids cot so my kids don't have to share a bed. It has not been a good experience in the past and neither my husband or I want to sleep with the kids. They are all over the place when they sleep.

I will get our luggage out the day before or day we leave, although I've been ordering specific Disney things from Amazon and putting them aside. I just pack regularly--not little-by-little or mad panicky. The strangest thing in our suitcase will probably be our "wine diapers" to keep our booze safe

Side note, I bought my first $50 Disney gift card today for our Labor Day weekend trip. I plan to buy one or two a week until we go. Can I use them anywhere on property like cash? Thanks!

I've used them at stores and most restaurants. I think the only place I couldn't use them was a food cart, but not all food carts. Yep, I'm saving up gift cards for our food. We're not doing the dining plan. I also used some of my gift cards to buy the villians night tickets. Helps cut down on more money out of my pocket when we get there.

We take out suitcases about 2 weeks prior to departure.

I usually don't start packing them though until about 4-5 days before, one kid at a time and then us. Our toiletries are the last thing and never until the morning we are leaving.

Strangest item in my suitcase is a potty seat! My 6 yr old swears that he will fall in (he just doesn't think his butt is big enough to fit a regular seat). I promise it is, he just isn't convinced yet!

We're really late to the party, but we will be at POFQ the 9th - 17th. and at the Contemporary the 18th - 23rd.

We usually get our luggage out about one week before we leave, but we have already started putting things aside to pack, but nothing out of the ordinary.

Family is getting excited as we near the 30 day mark before our trip to the "world".

I usually like to start packing 2-3 weeks ahead of a trip, but I have a weekend business trip 2 weeks before I'm leaving for Disney, so I can't pack until I get home from that!

Hi My 45 day mark was 7/3. I booked with an acquaintance who is a TA. I emailed her on 7/3 because she hadn't contacted me about getting payment information. She told me there is a cushion so we could do it whenever not necessarily on that day. So I said ok when, so she said she would be around all day Monday (today). I called and left her a message this morning, and still haven't heard back. Now I'm panicked? Is there a cushion? Will my reservation be cancelled???

This is why I could never use a TA, I like being able to do things on my own and having total control over my vacation. Has your reservation been showing up in MDE (does it usually when booked through a TA?)? If so, I would start there and see if it's still showing up. If not, I would call Disney reservations directly and ask them about it.

Don't worry there is a cushion. You have a couple weeks before u need to worry

This is why I could never use a TA, I like being able to do things on my own and having total control over my vacation. Has your reservation been showing up in MDE (does it usually when booked through a TA?)? If so, I would start there and see if it's still showing up. If not, I would call Disney reservations directly and ask them about it.

Thanks she called a few minutes ago! She had told me she would be around all day but since it's a home office she decided to take her kids to a water park for the day!

Well she took the information and is calling it in!

The suitcases come out about 1.5 weeks before and we start tossing stuff in. It usually takes until the two days before to get everything packed though.

Strangest item? Well I don't know. I can't think of anything too strange lol.

I just realized I didn't answer my own QOTD .

I usually bring the suitcases out about a week prior. My packing style is generally little by little in the beginning, with a frantic last-minute flurry right before we leave (all those things that can't be packed until right before we're out the door, ya know?).

Strangest item.....probably my Tim Hortons coffee packets. Not that they are strange, per se, but they probably aren't spotted in many other folk's luggage .

BOG lunch fastpasses are available for early August! I have not been able to get Aug 13 yet, but it has been posted that Aug 1 and 2 are available. Remember to take a photo of your day and time confirmation...it will never show up on MDE. Good luck!

I write my packing list about a week ahead of time, but the suitcases come out the day before. I do the happy dance when I first begin packing , but then the mad panic sets in as I'm finishing packing last minute items on departure day.

We flew to Dallas for a wedding mid-June and I left one of the suitcases out to start filling with trip stuff. I'll add stuff little by little until the mad panic the night before we leave.

I guess the strangest item would be my anti chafing body glide stick? I'm in training for a 1/2 marathon and need to do a long run while we are on vacation.

Usually I pull out the suitcase a few days earlier..this year will be a bit different as we are at a festival the weekend before so will be rushing back to the house to drop off and empty trailer, wash all clothes, repack and leave next day..WHEW

Right now I have a little box that I am putting items in that are just for Disney like rain pouches, magic band clips, pin trader, Canadian Flags pins, stuff like that

Happy day! We are all paid up for our Disney stay. Can't believe it will be at the end of next month. Made the reservations months ago, so to have it next month is getting exciting.

I like to have a rental car. We like to do other things besides Disney (GASP).
