29 Days!!!! I can't believe we are in the 20s!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I remember booking this trip at 285 days and here we are LESS THEN A MONTH away! All I know is that I am going to have some serious Disney depression after we get back!

Just got the email that our MB shipped and will be here tomorrow!

Do you mark your luggage in a particular way? If so, how?

My bag is a weird sort of mauve, sort of cranberry color. It also has a big quilt acorn luggage tag on it and a Disney luggage tag so it's just off enough to find it when I'm looking for it.

Question of the Day: Rental car or ME?

I use ME and the busses. I'm not a fan in driving places I don't know/cars I'm not used to and though I HAVE driven in Orlando before I wasn't a big fan of it - it put my anxiety on edge and if there's one thing I hate it's being anxious on vacation.

My friends were at the Frozen Premium party yesterday....here's her quick reivew from Facebook: Seriously just had the best night ever at the Frozen Party at Hollywood Studios ...80s cover band, reserved seating with all you can eat sweets and mickey pops for the kids and vodka lemonade for the adults ... Awesome fireworks ... I may never come home!
I am looking forward to this on Aug 14! I did the SWW preemium package and I know this will be equally awesome!

August 9th is almost here! I was able to change our flight to a direct one, so much easier. I'm ready to start packing, lol. Got a new tote bag that the back unzips and hooks to the handle of your suitcase. Got a cross body bag, and a teeny bag for when we don't need to carry much. Bought packing cubes based on advice on here. I have to stop spending or I won't have any left for the trip!

omg, I can't wait!!! It's going to be such a bonding time for me and DD15

Absolutely! We are doing an adult trip "to the dark side" to see the new HP stuff in Feb. There is NO WAY im going to Orlando without spending a day or 2 in Disney

I called 407-wdw-dine to book the premium package. You pay upfront and can cancel within 24 hours if need be.

8/25 - Arrival day - MK
8/26 - HS and the Frozen event premium package
8/27 - MK (I got a great mid-morning Anna and Elsa FP+ time so I'm thrilled; I'm hoping to get a BoG lunch FP+ this day too)
8/28 - EP - lunch ADR at Rose & Crown
8/28 - AK - followed by the 8:30pm Hoop-dee-Doo show (cat 2)
8/30 - Departure day - MK

So I caved on the budget and decided to add 8:10am breakfast ADRs on my HS and AK days at H&V and Tusker House respectively. I just have to refrain from buying "stuff" I don't need - a Frozen MagicBand is in the budget, but very little else.

As I was typing this post, I got the email that UT shipped my 5-day ticket, so hopefully I should be able to make my other days' FP+ selections soon too!

ME for us. We haven't ventured out of the Disney bubble yet. Maybe next time. My daughter's almost tall enough for Universal.

Just felt like I had some pixie dust sprinkled on me. We are leaving from Canada to drive to Orlando in 32 days (but who's counting). I'm starting to get things in order. I just activated our tickets to make FP+ reservations in a few days and I put my tickets away with my DVC card. I noticed dh's card was not where I usually keep it. I removed it from my "Disney wallet" in October since he couldn't make our last trip. I put it some place "safe" so I would know where to find it. It was not where I had thought it would be. I called him at work to have him check his wallet. Not there either. I have another Mickey case that I sometimes keep our passports in, so I checked it. It was not in there, but there was $500.00US I totally forgot we had!!! What a great surprise!! A bonus to that was 2 minutes later i also found the dh's DVC card in the back of the desk drawer. . Things are getting close. final payment on our rented townhouse was made this afternoon as well. It's been a very magical day here

How did I get 6 pages behind so quickly!? Must be lots of responses to Gina's QOTD (which, may I point out, is actually 3 questions, lol!). I'll give my answers and then go back to read.....

We haven't had a QOTD in a while. Its a rainy Monday here, so I'll break the boredom and toss one out:

How far in advance of your departure date do you get your luggage out?

Do you pack little by little, or in a mad panic right before you leave?

What is the strangest item that goes into your suitcase?

We usually pack about 3-4 days prior. I have a huge packing list in my Disney spreadsheet which I update for each trip, so it is fairly easy to pack with that list in hand (as long as I have done all the laundry, lol!). Of course, there are always those items that don't/can't get packed until the morning of departure, so that part is usually a mad panic. Last year was the first time we had our car with us and I got a little crazy with the, "sure, throw it in, we have the whole van!" and ended up with way more than we needed. I'm paring down this year. The strangest item that we bring (not in a suitcase though, only can bring if we drive) is my drying rack! I hang dry the swimsuits and we love the pool so we each seem to always have at least one suit that's still airing out.

WOW!!!!!! That's like finding $20 in a winter coat, but WAY better!

Question of the Day: Rental car or ME?

We are taking the Auto Train so we will have our van. We will monorail from Grand Floridian to MK/EP, walk to MK from Bay Lake Towers or take monorail to EP, and will likely drive everywhere else. My DH gets very frustrated with the buses. He goes bonkers when we're waiting for a bus to Park X and we see several empty buses for Park Y go by. It honestly doesn't bug me as much, but I hate to start the day with him so cranky. So we drive instead of take the buses.

Happy day! We are all paid up for our Disney stay. Can't believe it will be at the end of next month. Made the reservations months ago, so to have it next month is getting exciting. Question of the Day: Rental car or ME? I like to have a rental car. We like to do other things besides Disney (GASP).

ME to & from the airport. rental car for 3 days mid vacation for off site shopping & DTD evenings without having to bus it.

We are exactly one month out! We leave on Aug. 8th and arrive on Aug. 9th! I am beyond excited! We have planned this trip for over a year and our 7 year old had no clue! We finally told her today and she can't wait! We have talked about going back next year but she had no idea we were going in August! Now I can start getting all the Disney stuff out and the suitcases instead of hiding everything! LOL

We drive so we have our mini-van. We really only use in if we have an ADR before a park opens.

I don't drive at home, so I don't drive at Disney! I'm a fairly good driver and I'm sure I could navigate in a rental car if I had to, but it would just ruin my trip. I don't usually go off-site, though. The one time I did, I took the Mears shuttle to Universal.
