Is your family doing any other trips, excursions or getaways this summer? Or is Disney/Orlando your sole main event?

Its amazing how many Canadians are here!! Orlando is a huge highlight of our summer but we are also spending a week at Sandbanks on a beachfront campsite!!! and then 3 weeks at our FL condo after Disney. We may go on a last minute cruise if there are any great deals probably with Carnival LOL (good thing I am not on the DCL board! )

Tons of Canuks!! Disney is definately our highlight - third summer in a row and we all can't wait. We also do a week at Sauble beach in July - just gorgeous.

Hi everyone. DH, DD and DS are traveling to WDW in mid August. DD and DS are super excited as we will be vacationing with family. Has anyone heard how the new fast pass plus works for people not staying on site. We are staying off site the first week and ending out trip in Animal Kingdom lodge.

We will be going to Dallas/Ft Worth for a wedding in June. I don't have enough time off to do more then a long weekend so it will be a very short trip

I have a short Disney trip booked with my boys and now a friend and her son for May 31- June 3 for my sons birthday. We will have an overnight in Baltimore for a Yankees game in July and probably a few day trips to Ocean City NJ.

Breathing a HUGE sigh of relief right now!!! Our school district finally announced the 1st day of school and it is 9/2, so our dates of 8/16-8/26 will absolutely work!!!! I have had those dates booked for so long and was beyond frustrated at the fact that we have no calendar yet.

Well, we still don't have the full calendar, but at least they confirmed the 1st day of school!!

I hope to get page 1 caught up soon!

We are going to Wisconsin Dells May 3rd just for the night. But with sports and bdays...summer is kind of booked. Can't wait until Aug 6th til we go HOME!!!

Soooo.......I knew what my boys would want. We are now booked for a three-day, meal-inclusive Great Wolf Lodge stay . If I am going to vacation in my home province, Niagara Falls is where we want to go. And we are HUGE fans of the Lodge. I snagged a reasonably decent nightly rate, too, thanks to a 20% discount code for early bookings . DS graduates on June 25th, his prom is June 26th, then we arrive at the Lodge on the 27th.

We love the Lodge too and usually go at least once a year. We check in on June 29th. Maybe our paths will cross.

Breathing a HUGE sigh of relief right now!!! Our school district finally announced the 1st day of school and it is 9/2, so our dates of 8/16-8/26 will absolutely work!!!! I have had those dates booked for so long and was beyond frustrated at the fact that we have no calendar yet.

Well, we still don't have the full calendar, but at least they confirmed the 1st day of school!!

That's annoying without a school calendar until now. We've had our next year's calendar since February. We start the 3rd. So, we'll be flying in the morning before. Both kids will be at the 2nd year of the middle and high school they attend, so no need to see what is up before the first day of class.

I can't wait until the summer. With the younger one into sports and band, this may be our last summer vacation. The only reason we are at WDW is because of the great military discount on tickets and most of the time we'll be at the YC, which is the only hotel my teen DS wanted to stay at. I am sure he will become a pool rat while the younger one and I tour the parks. I don't care. We all enjoy vacation, and my kids like traveling with me, so no complaints. We all eat meals together, even on vacation, otherwise, I don't mind braking up when the older and younger want different things.

I've been tossing around the idea of a late June GWL trip as well. We love it there and have been several times in the past. It may turn into a kindergarten graduation thing (big milestone ) and something to tie us over until August. I'm waiting to see how work is looking closer to that date, because right now I'm swamped.

You should definitely go. Dance parties are on Friday nights and the Sunday we are going also has a dance party. I'm more excited then my kids. I feel like I'm on a date with my husband......doing the Time Warp and The Chicken Dance.........ah..... The good ole days!

I'm annoyed having to wait til February for the calendar-that stinks!!! But glad your dates will work

Ours took forever to come out too but thankfully the public board released theirs early and we tend to mirror theirs so we knew we would start on sep 2nd.

So glad too as oldest dd starts high school in sept so can't miss the first days.

After changing them 100 times, I think I finally have my parks and ADRs lined up for our August trip:

Friday, 8/29: Arrival day. MK and ADR at BoG @ 6:50 pm

Saturday, 8/30: AM at AK, ADR at Sanaa @ 1:30 pm, afternoon break, evening at EP with ADR at LaCava for the After Hours Wind Down. (Also have Illuminations Sparkling Dessert Party, but will most likely cancel.)

Sunday, 8/31: AM at DHS, ADR @ Brown Derby @ 1:40 pm. Afternoon break and evening at EP.

Monday, 9/1: AM at MK. Flight leaves at 8:05 pm.

What do you guys think?

Sounds like a very busy schedule, but doable. Won't see everything, but can definitely see alot. We did kinda the same thing 2 years ago. Tired, but fun. We got off our cruise, and were at SOG by 11am. Went to Epcot and had a late lunch at the Biergarden, and spent the rest of the day and night there. The next day, we did HS in the morning, swam in the afternoon, ate at Kona and then we did the late night at MK, waited at the bus stop and got to the hotel at 3:30am. Was out the door at 7:30am to go to AK that morning, and headed to the airport after lunch at Sanaa, as we had a late afternoon flight. We only had one full day and 2 half days, so yours should be even less busy.
