Pushed back our pirate's league to 1:50 on Aug 8. I just felt like doing it in the morning was in the way of our touring schedule. This way it will get us out of the heat in the afternoon and we can ride as much as we can before lunch! Then use our FP+ for later on!

Well, big shocker, he doesn't remember where he got them. The more I think about it though, it may have been a shoe store up in Lake George when we were there on vacation last year. Maybe not TOO far from you?

I did find several different options on Amazon.com, but its the shipping that kills us .... as soon as the delivery address is noted as Canadian, the shipping becomes more than the shoe .

I am not panicking yet....we will find something by August, I am sure of it. Thanks for the suggestions, though!!!

Don't want your now authorized DH's vacation to be spoiled by DH not have pool shoes.

We're still cold and may get snow later this week. I am so ready for summer!

If you are unsuccesful by July, if you see something on Amazon, let me know, as I can buy it, ship to my house. We will be in Niagra Falls, on the Canadian side, the second week-end in July. What a kind offer, Lynne!!!! You guys are so unbelievably sweet.

The lack of water shoes will definitely not spoil our trip......I will buy that big guy a set of flippers for his enormous feet if need be .

Actually, DH mentioned just yesterday that he would like to head to Niagara Falls for a few days around his birthday (the end of June). So if I can get a little getaway lined up, we may take a day and pop over to the Silo in Lewiston for lunch, then hit the Boulevard Mall in Amherst. Surely they might have something that would work (or even Target or Kmart....they don't have to be trendy, just the right fit!).

Your offer is so awesome, though. If I am still striking out by July, I may just take you up on it!!!

How about a QOTD?

When you are on vacation, do you keep in touch with anyone "back home"?

Via phone? Email? Facebook? Text?

My mom is a widow (my Dad passed away in 2010) and we talk every day when I'm home....like an hour an evening chat kind of thing. So I do take the time (not daily, maybe every second day or so) to check in and let her know what we have been up to. She does not have a computer nor internet access (lol, teaching her to operate her cell phone took a LOT of effort!) so a good old-fashioned phone conversation is what she craves. Those calls go a LONG way in easing her worry while we're gone....she tends to fret about our safety when we're not close by . Its a mom thing .... apparently I'm still her baby girl even though I'm all grown up.

We take our laptop with us, and try and update Facebook every day or so with a new photo and a little info for our friends back home. We only carry one cell phone for the works of us (cuts down on out of country travel plan charges).

I almost hate to admit it, but I also check my work emails every morning over my morning coffee. Its usually pretty quick and it helps avoid a major crisis when I return to the office after vacation.

QOTD: We stay connected. I post things on FB and may check e-mails (especially now with smart phones)...DH brings his laptop in case he needs to do any work. We usually don't call anyone, unless our kids are back at home with the grands (only 1 WDW trip where that was the case...last Oct for F&W and we checked in every night)....did call my mom the 2 Xmases we spent at WDW (both trips were with all the inlaws so we only needed to call my mom). On cruises, we are limited in all this...we will FB or text folks when in US ports (like Key West...and right before the ship leaves on the 1st day). Our cells can be locked in the safe during the cruise and we don't bother to bring any laptops when cruising.

I check my emails daily and I'll scroll through Facebook but I never post pictures or make comments. I might email my family once or twice during a two week vacation, but that's about it. We bring cell phones but never use them. We mostly communicate through our iPads.

My husband will not be making the trip with us so I will touch base with him daily. I will also check in with my parents once or twice during the week we are gone.

We do very little communicating with the outside world while we are on vacation. We will usually check in with whomever is watching our house for us. We really only use our cell phones to call each other if we split up. Last year DS facetimed with a friend who really wanted to see the MK fireworks. That was kind of funny.

We only call my dad and the our friends who take care of our cats. Otherwise it is vacation time! We do take the lap top for emergency's.

This trip will be without the kids, so I will text/call daily. DD will be at school and DS (17) will be home alone. (I may have to call neighbors too, to check up on him--lol). I also keep in periodic contact with my parents and I will Facebook and Instagram. Ok, I'm as bad as a kid with my iPhone and iPad

QOTD: I usually touch face via FB, or call/text my mom if shes's not traveling with us. Yes, I'm 30 years old and still check in with my mommy LOL. But this time she will be with us . The step sons touch base with their mom every couple of days via phone and we send her pictures.

Since my sister is not traveling with us this time, Ill check in on FB at places to make her jealous (in a fun way)...typically at ToT, Ohana, Philharmagic...

Hi all

So a few weeks ago I asked for some advice regarding my daughter's new school starting before our trip and whether or not we should reschedule our dates. We initially decided not to, but tonight after the mandatory new student meeting we realized that we HAVE to We already have everything booked and paid for and now I have to lose $ on flights because the school seems totally unreasonable and I do not want my daughter to suffer because of it. I knew about the school's reputation of being super strict, it is part of the reason they are so successful and hard to get into, but I was NOT prepared for this. Now we have to decide if we move the trip up to the last week of July/First week of August or cancel altogether. Problem is that I am afraid of how bad the crowds will be and whether or not the experience will be worth it at that point. I can not describe how sad I am. Just wanted to vent a little lol
