Hi everyone I was hoping someone would be able to explain to me exactly what I will need to do. I am staying at three resorts during my stay. I does it work when switching to another room at another resort. Also with the dining plan does my credits from one room stay or expire after I check out of one resort? I'm supper nervous about changing rooms/resorts this time. I have never done it before lol. Tia

DP stays until midnight of checkout day. So be sure to use up your credits on check out days.

So my husband stopped at CAA and picked up two new books for me today, Along Interstate 75 and Along Florida's Expressways. I guess we really are driving. :moped:

The morning of the last day of each resort stay, bring your bags to bell services and let them know you're switching resorts. They'll send your bags over for you. After you check in at the next resort, your bags will be brought to your room. You don't need to be there, but you do need to have checked in already.

The dining plan credits expire for each leg of your trip, as PP said, at midnight of the last day. Your dining credits for the next portion of your stay begin as soon as you check in for the day - so you'll have some overlap - be sure to use the expiring credits first (not sure how this works with magic bands vs the old KTTW cards). Double check with the front desk before you check out of the first resort.

Add me to the August list! Woohoo! This is the first Disney trip DH and I have planned (we both had gone when we younger with Band/Chorus trips in high school) and our first major family vacation. The "biggest" trip we had done with our three boys was a 4day, 3night stay at Great Wold Lodge- so yeah, not even comparable.

We are planning on staying off site in a 4BR condo. Even though I love the idea of staying on site, it just seemed like we were going to be able to get more bang for our buck for our family of 5 as far as space, our own kitchen (so saving money on food), having a washer/dryer, etc.

We will be road-tripping, leaving Friday August, 8th (right after we tell the kids what we're doing :woohoo:) and then staying the night in Chattanooga, TN - finishing up the last part of the trip the next day. Our plan right now is Sunday- DHS, Monday- Epcot, Tuesday- MK Wednesday- rest day, Thursday- AK, Friday - MK.

QOTD: What was your most magical moment at Disney

For me, it was when we went in 2006. DS was 5 and DD was 8. DD has special needs; part of her challenges are low muscle tone and she fatigues very easily. DS had a touch of that as well, but has since outgrown it. So every park day we rented a double stroller. Well, it was getting expensive and DH was losing it. SO the day we went to HS, we (he) figured it was a smaller park and rented a single stroller, figuring they could take turns. Well, in the afternoon we hopped to epcot, showed our receipt and got out single stroller. DD got in it and DS had a melt down. (Poor little guy.) All of a sudden a CM showed up with pixie dust, traded us a double stroller, and gave us a receipt we could use at another park if we park hopped again. Thank you! That was when I was hooked.

Great memory! My kids are also low tone and have a few other challenges as well. My kids dancing and holding hands in the "baby pool" at Pop stands out as a big memory from our first trip. And DDs smiles when Minnie came to our table at Chef Mickeys and DS excitement over TT. So much fun- August can't come soon enough!

One of my most magical moments has to do with DS (who is now 17). He was always a tough one at WDW...well, really easy actually as all he wanted to do was swim in the pool at the resort on our trips (we'd think 'we didn't come all this way and spend all this money to swim in the pool...we could have stayed at the local Holiday Inn for that'...but I digress). He was/is not a thrill ride guy, he hated the 3D shows and was cranky to stand in line and meet the characters (who his little sisters loved to meet). He wasn't (and still isn't) a big Disney kid (the blasphemy!!!!!). Well, one trip when we were over at DHS (which was MGM then...maybe around 2005)...we were at the Lights, Motor, Action show or around that area when the Power Rangers came out and did a little show. My DS screamed 'like a school girl'...he was SOOOO excited to see them. We bring that up and tease DS about it quite often. It was so nice to see him feel a bit of the magic that my DDs and I and even DH feels a lot.

Hi everyone,

My most magical moment was back in 2006 when our DD was 4. We took her to DHS for the first time. This was when they were soft opening the character breakfast at Hollywood and Vine. The characters were Little Einsteins and JoJo's Circus. Our daughter had a smile on her face from one side to the other. What was so magical is she is on the autism spectrum and up till then we never saw that side of her. It was the most amazing feeling, it gave me hope.
Today she is making amazing strides, I can't believe how far she has come.:goodvibes

My most magical time at disney was in 1999 my husband proposed to me in disney! But he didn't do it the old cliche way that everyone does it in disney. He secretly shopped while we were in the parks one day. He bought a ceramic replica of Cinderella's castle and had it shipped to the room. The next day when we got back to the room he set the castle up on the table. The castle had a door that opened in the front inside was Cinderella's carriage. He put the ring on top of the carriage. When I came out of the bathroom the castle was on the table and I was clueless and baffled! I said OMG look more disney magic the maid must of left this for us how cool! When I was examining it he had gotten down on one knee behind me and proposed!! Truly magical it will be 14 years that we have been married and disney is def a big part of our marriage!

My most magical moment was back in 2007 sitting in Akershus in Epcot on our first morning of our first trip and the princesses started coming around. Littlest dd who was 3 then desperately wanted to see Cinderella. We didn't know she would be there so all the other princesses filtered through and then through a side door out popped Cindy and dd jumped up from her seat with a face full of spaghetti and screeched and pointed! That was a priceless moment.

We surprised her again last summer booking Akershus on our last day and walked up to Norway with her not knowing we were going, she told the story how she jumped the first time at the same restaurant and was so excited to go again last year (now she's 9) that she had tears when we went in to the restaurant! She was so surprised!!

This year she asked for CRT but we settled on 1900 PK faire to get the step sisters too.

Our most magical moment was in January 2009, our first Disney experience. The trip was to celebrate DS's 13th birthday. It was a big deal ... our first BIG trip, our first time flying, our first time out of Canada (well, for DS and I anyway).

We initially weren't going to do any character meals, because we thought DS was too old for them. At the persistent encouragement of our TA (who said we'd regret it if we didn't) we ended up pulling the switcheroo on almost every original ADR we had and booked a total of 5 character meals (two breakfasts and three dinners).

Now, a lot of the Disney character experiences seem to be pretty geared to girls, so that was a worry for us as well. Especially as we arrived at super-elegant GF for dinner with Cinderella and her family. All I could think of was.....what had I done??? We felt so out of place.

Lady Tremaine must have noticed our discomfort, and came flying over to our table. She spotted DS's birthday button immediately, and oh my lord.....did things get interesting. She smothered DS with all sorts of attention, disappeared briefly and re-appeared with a crown. She placed it on his head, introduced him to the entire restaurant as the "King of Canada", "the evening's most eligible bachelor", and dragged both her daughters over to find out which he'd rather become his wife. My heavens, they were hysterical. DS was caught between laughing his fanny off and wishing he could disappear. It was just so over-the-top, and the characters were so in character. As we left, the ladies brought him over a birthday cupcake to take with us.

Good times, indeed.

Love it!

Love all these stories!

I'm loving all of these stories too. :)

On our first family trip in 2010, we were about to leave Fantasyland and head back to our resort when a cm asked if our children would like to ride Dumbo with Mickey and Minnie. Well, who's going to say no to that! :yay:

So out comes Mickey and grabs my 6 year old sons hand and out comes Minnie and grabs my 3 year old daughters hand. And away they went. It was so amazing!!! :cloud9: We felt like wdw royalty. :cool1: From that moment on, we were hooked.

So, Our youngest DD used to be extremely shy (she has since been growing out of that and totally blossoming).

Well, on one trip, when she was 5 and still unbelievably shy, we were at DHS in a store making a purchase. The register CM was asking us a bunch of trivia questions and we were nailing them all (while DD hid behind me)...well, he asked for the name of the bear in Brave (which was still fairly new at the time) and we all drew a blank.

Finally, we heard the teensiest, tiniest little voice speak up and say "Mordu?"

We were shocked!! We knew it was DD and couldn't believe she actually spoke up. The CM bent down over the register just to see her and said "what did you say?" And she stepped out and said "MORDU" with much more confidence. The CM started to celebrate and ended up giving her a bunch of stickers and a small stuffed Mickey! She was so proud of herself....and I can honestly say that's when her shyness started to melt away. She found her voice at Disney. :goodvibes

We still always talk about that story.

Could be the fact that I'm sick, but these stories are totally making me cry...

I'm having a hard time thinking of specific moments, and that makes me feel bad! But I guess meeting mickey on main st in DL at the very end of the night at the very end of a cross country road trip w my best friends, watching their fireworks show (cant remember what it was but I cried) and watching wishes on my first trip to DW with my husband (then bf) who took me for my birthday.

So excited to take my daughter for the first time, I can't even take it!!

I think this year will be the best vacation ever. My
Girls were small when we last went. I can't wait to see there faces.

Last January DD(4 at the time) had reservations for Dinner at Cinderella's Royal Table. We get to the restaurant and meet Cinderella which she liked but almost as soon as we got seated she was ready to go. When she asked to leave I'd tell her that we had to wait to see the princesses. She finally said to me "Mommy you know they're just people in costumes, right?". I told her to keep her voice down and that we would be leaving soon.

As soon as the princesses started coming out to the tables that child's demeanor completely changed. Her whole face lit up and she whispered to me excitedly "mommy, look it's Belle ! She's coming this way! When is she coming to our table?" This went on with every single princess. It was hilarious and heartwarming. She was so much fun, I made a reservation at Akershus for DH and DD for the very next day so he could experience her pure joy in seeing the princesses. Of course once the princess parade was over, she was done so we got our desserts to go :).
