Oh how I wish I was planning our annual August trip. I just don't think we can swing it this year. We just got back two weeks ago and it might as well have been 2 months ago. I am sick of the weather, sick of the cold and sick of the snow already. I don't need to go away again, but I sure miss planning something.:sad2: Dh just graduated in December (top student in his program!). So he's on the job hunt. There's no planning a trip right now. He has a few very good prospects and 2 interviews in the next 2 weeks. I don't think it will be long until he is employed and then I could plan something, but I think it would be smarter to plan a trip for next winter. We really want to see the new Harry Potter stuff and it will just be too busy in August. So I will read along with my August friends, and live vicariously through all of you until we are able to plan another trip for our family. :)

Nice to see you! I bet your last trip seems like long ago because August really seems like AGES ago! Forgive my poor memory, but didn't you get a new puppy!

That is so weird! I was just chatting with Disney and they said the drives are only going to people who booked "recently" and since I booked in October 2013--before the Incredibles USB promotion started--that I would not be getting one.

We booked back in July and we still got one. :confused3

Just wanted to drop by to say :wave2: to Mamasammy and Mousemommy.

:yay: Happy New Years

Happy New Years to you my friend! :goodvibes

So, I think I have everyone's trips updated on page 1. I have been stalking for the August park hours to come out so that I can start seeing what our days will look like. :surfweb:

I am still waiting on Southwest to release their fares, but I am guessing it won't be until sometime in February for our dates as at the end of January it will go out until August 8....I have $1110 in credits that I am itching to apply to this trip...:hyper:

I am not so anxiously awaiting Southwest to release their fares as well. Seems so much more real now waiting for park hours, flight times and being able to book dining next month :woohoo:

I can't swallow the airfare nor deal with the stress it brings me to wait for the best possible rate. My family calls us crazy an in sure it's not much more if at all cost effective to drive but I like having our car with us anyway. Now if we ever plan Disneyland......I think I draw the line and fly!

I booked in July for November and got one as well. It seems very random.

I can't be in the car with my kids for 2 hours, let alone 24!!! :rotfl2:

You're a brave soul I tell ya!!

Airfare adds an average of $1k to our trips, but that is money well spent IMHO! :rotfl:

Ha! Our kids were VERY good last year. We had lots of DVDs and they are great car sleepers. We flew the year before and they were awful albeit a year younger too.

I'm considering Feb. 4 (my 180 day) off from work so I can start making res at the stroke of midnight. It's tough enough getting dining reservations when you want them, but with the addition of reserving rides and attractions and coordinating them with your dining, I'm thinking it's going to be a full day's work. Is that crazy?

You can only do rides at 60 days. I don't think you can book meals until 6 am on the computer or 7 am on the phone. Midnight does not help you with your adrs:(

Thanks, that's good to know! I guess it will be easier to split the dining & ride reservations into 2 days. How easy has it been to get FP+ on the rides & attractions you want on specific days?

We were just there 2 weeks ago and we were able to get the rides on the days and times we wanted even the morning of:) There was only 1 time on our last day (Dec 28) where we were not able to push up our fp+ for TOT and RNRC, but it was within 2 hours of when we wanted to change them to and there were not any remaining. Time will tell what will happen if they extend it to those staying off property as well as on. I can't see there being a problem at 60 days. You just need to decide how your day will go. If you are rope droppers or early arrivers, I would save your passes until the afternoon or evening. No need to have them in the morning. Same if you hop...go to park 1 in the morning and avoid long lines then have fp+ for the park you plan to hop to.

With the discussion of tiering I saw last night in one of the threads, how did you get both ToT and RnRC? Are they not in the same tier? I haven't been following FP threads much trying to get on top of DL things before our trip there next week.

Fingers crossed that you will be sprinkled with some employment pixie dust and a trip will be thrown together for the summer :wizard:.

And congrats to your DH on his awesome accomplishment!!! You guys must be so proud!!!

And PS....how's the puppy?????

Not sure about the FP+ availability! but I do think it has been easier to get ADRs as well because of the credit card requirement on all reservations now. :goodvibes

Just booked the Poly for Aug 20-27! So excited! Will be me and DD and DS!! Woohoo!!

Nice!!! I wish I was as brave as you! I wanted the Poly sooooo bad, but not with all of the construction. :(

I'll add you to page 1! :cool1:

We booked our fp+ prior to the tiering that went into effect on Nov 1. I think you can get TOT and RNRC but you can't get TSM and RNRC. We were lucky to have all 3.

Looking at being at WDW 8/22-8/30 and my oldest daughter may bring her BFF so we will be a party of six and are pretty much priced out of staying on site.

Looking to stay at Bonnet Creek.

Now if the BFF doesn't come, or free dinning is offered or some other scenario happens we may end up onsite at POR

Looking at coming in on a Friday and starting our parks Saturday. Our plan is 7 day tickets with park hoppers and water parks. One day we will be heading to Legoland. Last day will be a late flight so we will have 3/4 day there.

Second trip ever and last one was a decade ago for just 4 days.

Hello All!!!! I have been so busy with the holidays I haven't been able to get on here in what seems like forever! I hope everyone is already having a great new year! I can't believe it's already almost time for me to make our ADR's!!! I am so excited we are trying a bunch of new resturants this year. Everyone talking about FP+ does make me realize I need to figure out what I want to pick for rides. I am so excited to go to Disney!!!!
