How far in advance of your departure date do you get your luggage out? Do you pack little by little, or in a mad panic right before you leave? What is the strangest item that goes into your suitcase?

At this point, I'm pretty much a Disney packing pro, so the suitcases come out like two days before. I pack in that day or two, but it's not usually a mad panic because I know what needs to come and what doesn't. I don't think there's anything too strange that I bring along.

Question of the Day: Rental car or ME?

I will say that I used to be gung ho about Disney transportation (and I still don't mind ME). But last July my friends and I got a rental car for the first time, in part because we were going to Universal for a day and also because I knew one of my friends would not do so well with the crowded buses. Wow! What a difference! So in January, when I went with my mom (who uses a scooter at WDW) and my brother (special needs), we did it again and it made life so much easier. In March, I used the buses from All Star Movies, but that was frustrating, in part because it's the last of three stops. So this time, staying at CBR where there are SEVEN stops, I decided to get a little economy car for myself. Makes it easier to go between resorts and to the water parks.

Happy day! We are all paid up for our Disney stay. Can't believe it will be at the end of next month. Made the reservations months ago, so to have it next month is getting exciting.


Question of the Day: Rental car or ME?


I like to have a rental car. We like to do other things besides Disney (GASP).

Last time we rented a car was 2007, it's been ME since then However, we'll be renting a car again next month, venturing outside the Disney bubble for the first time in 7 years! I'm planning on still using the busses for at least MK and possibly other parks if the service from CSR looks as good as it sounds

Ugh...help me decide! We have 5 nights at BCV with our DVC points. We wanted to stay longer but we don't have enough points, so we are booking 3 days at another resort. We have the passholder discount, so I am between AOA LK rooms or the Poly. The pool at Poly will be closed so we will be given a 1 day water park pass. The Poly is about $200 more. I can't decide if it is worth the difference. The water park passes make it an even trade. I have never stayed at the Poly...we stayed 1 night at AOA in Cars last year. WWYD?

I'd pick aoa lk room as then you'll have 3 pool days to enjoy instead of just one waterpark day and you'll save money!

What were you planning on doing during those extra three days? Will you be at the parks mostly? Do you have time or are you interested in the waterpark passes?

It's a tough choice, but I think I would stay in a LK suite over the Poly and save the $200, but I'm cheap like that.

Woohoo! I just booked my BOG FP+ for lunch on Aug. 5th. Now I can say that my plans are perfect!

QOTD: we leave (driving) for our trip in 8 days!!! Not much is packed yet but I have three extensive lists: roadtrip, beach and Disney.

At Disney we 'll probably use both our car and WDW transportation.

I am finally coming out of the first trimester fog and finally starting to feel better....my appetite is back now and ready for all of that yummy Disney food!!! (That's after I lost 7 pounds in the 1st trimester....)

As much as I'd like to stay at the Poly, I personally would wait until all the construction is done. Having stayed at AoA in both a Cars suite and a LK suite, I'd pick the LK suite. I adore that resort, plus you get the cool pool with the underwater music!

I am leaning more towards AOA. DH was against Poly and he gave me free reign yesterday to stay wherever I wanted The construction is a concern but the price is great for that resort and I am not sure we'd get that deal again. Now I am even considering changing to POR Royal Rooms. I'll just keep playing around...helps pass the time between now and Aug 9 31 days!

I'd say AoA as well, DisneyLover99 - my parents are at the Poly right now and they haven't complained about anything being too noisy or bothersome (actually they got a free room upgrade) but it has hampered their experience some, and it'll only be worse come August when more construction starts.

Also, though I've never stayed there, AoA would be fun! (I did stare at it longingly last year from POP since we were supposed to stay there until our plans changed) And it seems like each section's a completely different resort so it'll be a different experience!

With one exception (which will only change our getting up earlier or later) that we'll cement down next week these are our FINALIZED plans (love that feeling!):

I am leaning more towards AOA. DH was against Poly and he gave me free reign yesterday to stay wherever I wanted The construction is a concern but the price is great for that resort and I am not sure we'd get that deal again. Now I am even considering changing to POR Royal Rooms. I'll just keep playing around...helps pass the time between now and Aug 9 31 days!

We are debating about adding a stand-alone night for the Poly on our November trip. I am expecting a good discount to come out for it, and with the water park pass thrown in, I don't know we would get such a deal once the refurbishment is complete. That said, it would only be one night for us and not three like you are considering. Definitely a tough choice!

Question of the Day: Rental car or ME?

We're driving there so we'll have our own vehicle. For the most part though we'll probably be using ME, at the very least for our trips to MK, we'll play it by ear for the rest of the parks.
