****OFFICIAL August, 2012 (PART 2)****

So jealous of all you guys in the packing stages ::yes:: .

I must be one of the last to leave. Will netnurse31 and I be the only ones hanging around by next weekend? We leave the 25th.

No worries, you two won't be alone....we don't leave until the 28th. I really haven't started packing yet, just putting things that I know that we will forget into a pile. We have the kids' autograph books, our pins to trade, I've got mine and both of my DDs' jewelry packed up, our ponchos and our park bags are out, all of our new gym shoes are in that pile, and so forth. I get paid on Thursday so I plan on going and getting all of our vanity things to put in the pile (after we go to my DD11's 6th grade orientation).

This weekend, we are taking down the suitcases and then I am going to place our clothes that I know we won't be wearing, before we leave, into piles....once the clothes are in the piles, they will not get touched until we are in Florida. So that means, I will wash them once before we leave and they will stay cleaned until our trip :laundy:, I really hate doing a hundred loads of laundry right before we leave, every year prior I would be the only one up until 1am the night before we leave just to get all of the laundry and last minute packing done. This year I am determined to do something different and get it all done before our last night at home. Wish me luck and send some pixiedust: my way that it will happen the way I want it to :goodvibes

Nope, you're not the only ones... we are leaving the 24th and starting in Disney on the 25th. :thumbsup2 The anticipation is killing me!

Nope, me too! Leaving the 24th here for a room only at CSR. Then package with FD starts on the 25th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have another trip planned for February exactly 6 months to the day we leave for this one!
I spent yesterday afternoon trying to convince dh we should go while we are all off the week after Christmas instead of February. But as soon as he agrees I start doubting. I could have a great time I am sure but I am so afraid of the crowds. It would be nothing like any other trip we have taken. I enjoy a challenge though. So for now I'll say we're going in February but you just never know;)[/QUOTE]

I thought the week after Christmas suppose to be slow. I guest I never been there :) Yeah we are going around December 14 for a few days since my DD really want to go on Little mermaid ride which schedule to open Dec 6.

I hope its closer to the 87.
Temps dropped in Iowa its been 60s-70s all weekend and rainy and cool nights. I am getting spoiled.
I'm in the same boat. All through July I was tolerating the unusually hot MN weather, thinking it was getting me ready for FL in Aug. Then, MN weather turned back to the wonderful normal MN summer weather of upper 70s with glorious upper 50s at night, and I'm totally spoiled! 90 is going to seem so hot again!

Sadly we wont be back anytime soon I dont think. We went all out on this one! So are definately making the most of this trip! :thumbsup2

Same here. No return trip planned. Next year we're motor-homing to Cedar Point and Hershey. 2014, we'll probably do a westward camping trip. DS really wants to go to Universal, though, so I'll have to find a way to fit that in. Maybe a "mom and son" long weekend or something. Won't be long before we're vacationing as a family of 3 because he's gonna be all grown up soon :sad1:

I told the kids we are not going back until the FLE is complete.

That is exactly what we are doing too. This will be our last trip to WDW until after the FLE is complete. However, next June we have already decided that we will be going to DLR which will be our first time. We are so excited to go there, DH or I have never been to the West Coast, and I am so excited to see the park that Walt himself built...and of course Carsland :lmao:. Since we will more then likely be renting a car, we do plan on going to San Diego for the day and check out the beaches there, mainly the Coronda Del Mar Beach and also check out the hotel where the GF got it's inspiration from. So once this trip is over with, I will be doing so major homework on the West Coast parks since we are total noobies in that department :lmao:.

I am on a mission for 4 trips this year! We have Dec 22-19 2012 and Feb 1-4 scheduled. Now to plan Aug 2013....then take a break for a few years.;)

We are scheduled for 5+ but depends on how things goes. We are getting annual pass and 1 yr of Disney for the little ones. We are a travelling family so this will be "hard" for DH to commit.
August 27 - September 7 first trip
October 14-20 off site at a friend condo (it is gift, so we dont have to pay)
December 14-20 Aoa Or Raddison points
January 13-16 DS birthday trip
May 11-May 17 DH birthday trip

We never been to Disney. I guest we are playing catch up with everyone else. :moped:

Ooohhh....lucky, lucky!!!! :yay:

DLR is on my bucket list.........I *will* visit there someday!!! (though probably with the grandkids......please let that be a long way off :faint: ).

We have already booked a Disney cruise for Oct 20-25, 2013 and then a 2 night stay at POFQ Oct 25-27, 2013. We were supposed to do a 8 day stay at the Poly in Sept of 2013, but I was out voted.

The days we are at WDW after the cruise, we will be focusing on the FLE.

I felt the same way, the last few days in MN were so nice. I dont think I will be ever ready for the heat... 3 little cranky kids in line in the heat ...:headache:

You just described what our weather is like in October and November. Though sometimes it can still be warm in December. I can't imagine in August for the temp to only be in the 70's and 50's at night. I love the summer heat and humidity.

What I wouldn't be able to handle is the winter weather y'all have up there. When it gets cold here, I can't stand it.

I can't stand the cold either but after a month of it being over 100 most of the time the 70s and rainy feels nice! :goodvibes

Also I will like my electric bill better next month since I was able to turn off the AC and just have windows open and house fan on. ::yes::

There's a method to my madness. I am kind of like a mosquito when it comes to Florida trips. I start at a low whine and my husband swats at me and resists. But eventually I wear him down. I don't do much but bring it up over and over again with different dates and scenarios until he doesn't know what he's agreed to and he needs a vacation from vacation speculation and we go again.:rotfl2:

I don't mind the 100 degree weather. We get that plus high humidity here, and I just love it. Most of the time we are in the 90's.

32 hrs and 11 minutes of work left for me!!! Yay! Working for the weekend has a whole new meaning this week! :lmao:

Woo!
I am going to struggle with my last shift. It is 10-3 on the day we leave (have to be at the airport for 9pm). On thi plus side, no end can say I won't be cheery at work.

OK - I'm hopelessly behind. I made it to pg 143. I give up and am just going to reply at this point(and u guys will be going..."well what is she talking about? That post was ancient history now")

Thanks pigletto, I try to avoid answering questions like that since it is such a sore subject on some boards. However, this group is such a great group that I wasn't too worried about it :goodvibes.

That's what I love about this group - no one jumping down your throat. Just Disney crazed folks hanging out.

You have over 5000 posts and don't know how to multi-quote.

On the regular site just click the quotation marks next to the quote box. After you click all the ones you want click the quote box on the last one you want to quote to start typing your replies.

On the app it's a little more difficult click the blue down arrow on the right then click the white box on the left this will turn the avatar box yellow. After you've clicked all the ones you want click the arrow on the top right of the screen then click multi-quote.

I hope this helps.
.

I've been TRYING to figure out how it works on the app! I'll give it a shot...AFTER I re-download the Dis app again. DH uninstalled it saying "well u never use it..." GRRRR...I use it pretty frequently!

We will be staying at the All Star Sports Resort August 15-21st. So excited!!! We will be celebrating our sons 6th birthday early since he will be starting school on his birthday next month. We are also celebrating my little sisters high school graduation.

Added you to the resort list :) Still have from p[g 144 to go through before I can say the list is fully updated. i'm sre there's lots of mistakes, but hopefully it helps :)

I admit it.. I am a creature of habit. This would be also why I don't have Facebook or Twitter. I learn to do things a certain way and never change them:blush:
Thank you for the explanation. Now I'm not going to use it to further annoy you.;)

ooooo...annoying Stan sounds like fun. Can I join you? (Except that I can't live without multi-quote so I'll have to find some other way to annoy him).

About 4.5 years ago, I joined an iVillage online "expecting club" for moms who were expecting babies in Sept 2008. It was a group of about 30-40 fantastic, supportive women and (through facebook), we've gotten to know each other and have stuck by each other through 9 months of pregnancy, sleepless nights with newborns, terrible 2s, and are now watching our "babies" get ready to turn 4 and start preschool. A lot of the moms live in the Northeast and have had real-life meet ups, but I've never met any of them in person. Until now...

I just found out that one of the moms is going to be at MK on the 31st! And we were already planning to RD there that day! I'm so freaking excited! As if I needed another reason to be excited about our trip! Her DD was born the day after mine and I can't wait to see the girls together!!

There's a lot to be said for internet groups :) I've met a LOT of people through the internet, including some dear friends. My last trip, the leader of my Photopass share and I hit it off and spent half our trips together - what fun!

So, we are GIDDY, CRAZY excited that we will be sleeping in our beds at POFQ 14 days from right now!! :dance3:
Although we have been preparing ourselves for the heat and humidity, we haven't focused much on the rain... Now I'm a bit worried - are cheap ponchos enough? Should I get light rain jackets, to wear more comfortably, longer? I've read suggestions to wear Crocs or flip flops in the rain, to avoid getting athletic shoes and socks soaking wet (leading to blisters)...
Recommendations on what to pack? Reports on how it's been this week?
We won't let rain get in the way of our fun (shorter lines!!), but I want us to be as comfortable as possible. Was kind of anticipating rain like in Hawaii (daily but brief)... Is it usually longer / more intense? :confused3

I am carrying our flips with us on days that threaten rain and will switch shoes when it rains. Otherwise, it's sneakers for us for maximum support. I also bought better quality packable ponchos that pack into small bags for us. I figure they will be more breathable in the heat. We did dollar store ponchos on our last trip and they worked fine (in Jan though, so not hot and humid).

We are flying out of Phila. Also staying at POFQ. I have been working a lot of hours due to some changes at work so haven't been able to follow this board as much as I would like. Came on today and I am waaay back at page 119 of 140 -something...Aaaaak!! :)

I hear u, I hear you.

Just got an ADR for Le Cellier for lunch on 9/1!!! I've been trying to get a lunch ADR since I booked this trip since its the last year it will be included on the dining plan. I'm so excited!!!:cool1::cool1::cool1:

I'm really excited about our LC lunch! Only thing is the burger is no longer on the allears menu. DH is bummed but will console himself with filet mignon.

In awesome news....DH is feeling GOOD! He took his shot yesterday and I was really worried because he was back to where he couldn't get up without assistance and just hurt all over. Today he said he feels good besides his arms and his skin is feeling better already. Hopefully by Saturday he will be feeling and looking as good as new. So we are DEFINITELY going!!! :hyper:

This time next week we should be in FL!!!!!!

Woooohoooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!

Here I am with Minnie last year. It's a good thing Mickey was busy in the kitchen at Chef Mickey's or it could have gotten ugly.

What a hoot!

Diddo on Ohana. We are staying @ The Poly so still debating whether or not we want to try to snag a resie for Ohana. Maybe I will look just to see. The only thing is our travel agent booked our meals, can we still call in quick if we see one open up?.

My TA made my ressies. Then I added a couple of ressies on my own that I was stalking. I just used my account to make my own ressies. No biggie to have a mix. Just remember which name/phone number you used!

I have a very important question! Have you done the Kitchen Sink at Beaches and Cream? Will this be out of the question for my son and I to attempt by ourselves? There is not a chance we'll finish it, but it would be a fun memory, I think. A little surprise for him one night, Ice cream for dinner. :rotfl:

Please let me know what you guys think if you've done it.

We're doing it our next trip as a belated birthday celebration for my DD. We're skipping the burgers and just having ice cream for dinner. How cool is that?

Did that last night! DH pulled out all our suitcases and I made "daily" piles for clothes. I used to pack all my clothes in my suitcase, DH in his and so on. So we would each have our own case. Then someone said what if your case gets lost???? WHAT?? that actually never occured to me. Me without clothes, not a site anyone (including myself) wants to see :scared1: So this trip I am packing by the day. All our AK clothes are together and such. I got everything in 2 cases plus our carryon and meds/personals bag. But since we need room for souveniers, we are checking 3 cases plus our meds bag and having 4 carryons (one each). Why is it the one time WE don't need to carry them anywhere is the time we have less??? (limo and ME) :confused3 Oh well, less for the kids to complain about them being too heavy, and no over limit weight issues.

I pack all our clothes by day - makes it much easier for me to know we have enough of everything. I always make sure we have a set of clothes in our carry on in case luggage goes missing.

I had to laugh when i saw that word. I work in a hotel, actually it is part of the wyndham chain but it is like an inn. Anyways because we situated right on a major highway we get a lot of traffic.

We have had a few military people come through lately moving to alaska, this guy looks at me & says "since we are in canada now i can say eh!, i have always wanted to say that to someone". I laughed then said well i will be in florida next week so i can say y'all lol.

Pointless story.

I am sooooooo excited. I have so much to do & still no energy to do any of it. I can't believe it is finally THIS WEEK!!!!!

I am done night shifts for 2 glorius weeks :) (i hate night shifts).

I have 3 evening shifts left, hope they will be busy ones, they will fly by then.
