4 more sleeps!

I came up with a good idea this morning that I figured I'd share with the board..

Gonna charge up my old iPhone 3G, and download some games and music, and the new Disney tour guide app on there. Since there is WiFi at WDW parks, I'll be able to use that without having to drain my cell phone battery. My son and I open and close down the parks, so the extra battery will help!

Certainly not huge news, but a good idea for those who have an old Phone or iTouch laying around.

How old is your Touch?
We have an older one that dd passed on to her little brother when she got her iPhone. It is sooooo slooooowwww. The internet moves at a snails pace so I wasn't going to bother with it. Dh said we might just need to update it and it could work. This one is a 2nd Gen I think.

My sons have iPod Touch 4th gereneration. I already downloaded the My Disney Experience ap so we can use that in place of my phone so I can save my battery. Hoping it works well since I can't get that ap on my android.

It could be 2nd gen. I just know the guy at staples laughed at me when I asked if they still made cases for it! Snotty kid was like, "PRE-camera??!?" hahaha

I am having real trouble making myself do anything for this trip you guys. I'm excited and I want to be there. I just don't want to do anything I need to do to actually get there! I don't want to pack, I don't want to make lists, or go to the bank or organize or.. the list goes on
I don't know what has gotten into me. I usually love this stuff and I just want to go. I think I am burnt out from being the family trip planner/organizer/packer.
I want someone else to do it all

I feel the same way! I'm having a hard time getting myself motivated to get anything done. I promised myself I'd get moving this weekend. We shall see

Pigletto tooth update..

The dentist thinks there may be a mild infection around the broken wisdom tooth so to be on the safe side he's put me on antibiotics and I have to come back in a week to get it removed

So.. all that worry for nothing. And I am not really worried about next week because he wrote me a prescription to "ease my nerves" before the next appointment.

Fine by me! I'm such a baby about the dentist.

In other news..
I still don't have my Mickey Mail but it should be here soon. I changed resorts for the last time pretty late in the game and it had to go to my TA first so I am expecting it any day now.

Glad it worked out at the dentist. I'm sure it will work out just fine. I tend to get myself nervous and then it turns out to be nothing. I hope that's the case for you, good luck!

6 more days ad we all came down with the touch flu

We leave 2 weeks from tomorrow and I have not gotten much accomplished. I have to do everything after the kids go to bed since this is a surprise trip. It also doesn't help that the Olympics are on.

The night before we leave, I am going to a concert. I am sure I won't end up sleeping.

On another note, if you are of the praying kind, please say one for my friends son. He is 8 years old and 2 weeks ago he was diagnosed with a staff infection in his ankle bone. Well yesterday, he had to be admitted to the PICU. He now has fluid on his lungs, some kind of odd rash amongst other things. Just about an hour ago, they had to put in a breathing tube.

I am sooooo far behind this year! I am usually half packed, tshirts done by now but not this year.

I have one week left and I need to get my butt in gear!

It doesn't help that my hospital rolled out a new computer program for everything (charting, orders, etc) this week. And since I run an anticoag dept for three of our clinics I need to make sure that everyone is up to speed with the new program BEFORE I leave for vacation.

Anywho, the type "A" planner in me made a to do list and gave the kids their marching orders.....

We will be "home" in 8 days!!!!!

I hate when that happens! Good luck getting everything done!

But the only 'special request' option was for a pack & play. I thought you could write in room requests?

When I did online check in last year that's all I saw as well. I faxed my request 4 days before we left and got everything I asked for down to the exact building, first floor, near a bus stop. Send them a fax.

We are finally in the teens. 19 more days to go! WooHoo!!!

How about a QOTD? Not sure if we've talked about this one but who cares we love to talk Disney!

Does your family have an arrival day tradition?

We usually fly in mid-morning, get settled, swim, and then hop on the boat to DTD for an early dinner. I like to get to bed early and hit the parks the next morning!

We arrive about 2pm. Planning on heading straight to MK to grab a turkey leg. We have an ADR at Chef Mickey's at 9:15 that night so we will probably leave the park by 8:30 and catch to monorail over.

FINALLY GOT MY MICKEY MAIL!!!

2 weeks to go!!!

Oh yeah.....Disney fever has struck HARD!!!!

My coworkers decided to feed into my obsession and bring in their Mouse Ears!

We will place an order with Garden Grocer. Most of the items will be for breakfast. Since we have the mugs, I will be just getting bottled water. Some of y'all have to have Diet Coke, but I like regular old Coke. I studied artificial sweeteners and I just don't like the taste.

It is great to have the food in the room, so we can eat while getting ready. The kids don't eat as much for breakfast. I also ordered stuff to make our own trail mix to have as a snack.

I am a bad mom and don't carry around water bottles in the park. I just hate having anything extra to carry. So we buy bottled waters in the park or ask for a cup at the CS places.

I placed our GG order last week. I love having stuff in the room. It's so convenient!

Excitment is growing!!!! It is getting so close! I need to call this week to triple check they have our request for connecting rooms, 2 adults, 4 kids it will make life SOOO much easier! I wish the family suites were more economical....but 2 rooms is much cheaper!

That was great!!!!

The kids and I just got home from school supply shopping. Holy cow things can get expensive, but the good part is that it is done. I do have a couple loose end items that I wasn't able to get, that they really don't need the first day of school. Now that that is out of the way, my attention will be towards our trip. No more lolly gagging around...tomorrow after work the kids and I will start gathering things to put into piles .

First time at both of these resorts! So excited!

First Day Tradition: it wasn't a planned tradition but this is the 3rd time we're arriving and going to DS for the Fantasmic Dinner package. Second time at Mama Melrose for this... I think it's just such a great way to start off the trip and if we get some rides in, we'll only spend another half day in DS (mostly for Toy Story Mania!!)

I'm totally excited... I only have to work a few hours early tomorrow morning and then I'm off for two weeks!

Adorable pictures!!! I just bought some new sparkly ears to wear, can't wait! We just did a full out clean out of our garage and I found my FIRST EVER Mickey Ears from when I was prob 8!!! I was so excited. They have the old school logo and everything.

My five year old too!!! So excited that he can ride everything. He is excited about EE but is refusing to ride Space Mountain. We'll see how he feels down there. I don't mind sitting out Space Mountain with him.

My mom loves this local childrens' store that happened to be doing silhouettes today, so she made an appointment to have my boys and my nephew done today. The man who was doing them usually does silhouettes in WDW!! And his wife works there full time! It was pretty cool to meet them. My mom had my sisters' and my silhouettes done back in the day in WDW!

Continuing to count down the days and make up my to-try snack list! haha!! POR peeps, make sure you look for us at the pool! There are so many of us down there the week of the 25th, would love a DIS meet up! (I will have my Micky heads on my bags!)
