****OFFICIAL August, 2012 (PART 2)****

We get home from our trip in the afternoon.. the day before school starts.

So do we! I bought our flights before checking the school calendar. Usually they start back on a Wednesday here, so I figured this year would be the same. Oops! I've been feeling guilty about it, so I'm kind of glad to see I'm not the only one. :goodvibes

I think our flight is scheduled to get in at 10am. So we'll be home around lunch or so. It still leaves us plenty of time to get some groceries for lunches and that's about all we will need. Luckily, when we go to Disney the kids get up really early for rope drop most days, and then they are in bed by 10 usually. Hopefully that gets us ready for early school mornings again. My son doesn't have to be up until 7:30 on school mornings, but my dd has to be up by 6.

Question- how do you keep your ADrs confirmation numbers? In phone, on paper, emailed to yourself? I have never needed them but of course I do want them incase.
I bring a Palm Zire PDA (ancient, but still works). That has an excel spreadsheet app that I have the entire schedule on, ADRs, park plans, anything else useful.... (I use it for keeping TR notes, too.)
I also have a couple of printed copies with me, DH keeps one, I have one, one in the room. Sounds a bit paranoid, but one vacation we only had one place out of six that had our ADRs listed - I had to show them our own paperwork.

I like the idea of puting them on the phone, too. Mine's pretty much a dumbphone, bit it does have a calandar and memo feature.

Also, question.......What is everyone doing with their animals?
We've got friends coming over to feed and water, and scoop. I doubt they'll see anybody, they'll probably all be hiding from strange footsteps

Usually my folks take care of the 3 kitty-kids. but at 92 my dad's eyes aren't what they used to be, and he'd really rather not drive over every day (it's about 15 miles), so I'm going to ask if they'd come over just a couple of days, to be there to sit and talk to them for a while. The meezer geezer Enzo adores my dad, Faffy is a love-snuggle if he knows you, and Pearl doesn't like anybody :rotfl:

My 89 yo MIL loves to have our rat terrier vacation at hr house. She feels that she couldn't manage a dog full time, but she gets Chip one or two weeks a year.
Chip lays on her lap and keeps her warm while she watches TV.

My kids are ok with the CBJ being closed. But this is our second trip during the test track closure:headache:. I swear the next time we go and it's open they'll probably ride it for a day straight:rotfl:

Yeah, mine won't mind missing CBJ, but they feel the same about TT. We are at DHS and AK the same days! I will have my Mickey heads on my bag/lanyard!

I will look for you and make sure to say Hi!! We're a friendly bunch:)

Okay everyone! I need help talking me off the ledge (or giving me a push!!)

I'm at almost two weeks and I'm questioning all of my ADRs! I thought everything was settled but now I feel like they're all wrong.

This is what we have:

8/15 - Mama Melrose FTP dinner - we've been before to MM and to Hollywood &Vine. Liked MM a lot but should we go back or should I try to switch to Brown Derby? Definitely want to keep the dinner package...

8/16 - Kona Cafe for desert then to the beach for Wishes - should we be going someplace else (maybe for an actual dinner) and then just head to the beach. Or maybe eat a whole meal at Kona Cafe??

8/19 - Biergarten lunch - loved this last time but I've heard that they no longer have the potato soup which is my main reason for going again! Can anyone verify this? Any other good lunch suggestions in Epcot?

8/22 - Garden Grill dinner - this is the only one I'm not questioning. I really want to try it out and my kids love Mickey!

8/25 - 'Ohana breakfast - is this worth it? I want to try 'Ohana really bad but I'd rather have dinner... unfortunately it's booked solid. We're not Stitch fans so is the restaurant and the breakfast food worth going? This is our last day, we're not going to the parks and ME is picking us up around 2 pm so we can really do anything...

Please August friends! Help me out as I know only you can!!

Are you paying out of pocket or have a dining plan?
It's a toss up between Brown Derby and Mama Melrose for me. We did deluxe dining last summer and though I loved the atmosphere of Brown Derby..the food was just meh. It was packed, the meal took forever, and nothing stood out as really noteworthy.

Kona Cafe.. I would do a whole meal. It gets really good reviews.

We love Biergarten but I have not seen the soup on my last two trips.

And O'Hana.. my kids loved the breakfast. We aren't huge Stitch fans either but there were quite a few characters and we had a great time. It seems like the perfect way to end the trip :)

Oh.. and I would resist making too many changes. I think it's the ADR doubt that creeps in just before the trip. You booked them for a reason and you'll enjoy them when you are there! :) (At least that's what I keep telling myself lol)

I think they are great choices and will say, I also started to second guess myself a few weeks ago.
I have Ohana breakfast this saturday morning, think it should be great. I did dinner there last year, didnt want it again.
Kona, I have for lunch. I am most excited about eating there. Ill be there before you so Ill update after we do.
I have never been to MM, I have it also this trip. Brown derby does sound good but I think if you like MM and already have it, no reason to change. You picked those places because they interested you right.:cheer2:

I finished my intinerary chart. I like to have it in room, make sure its all together and Ill add ADrs to phone. Just realized My park hours are wrong now. Darn

I really love hour reassuring you are!!

We're paying out of pocket so we tried to stay away from anything too pricy!

I'm so sad about Biergarten. I really do think I want to change that one. I was only going back for that... :guilty: Any thoughts for places to go either in Epcot or nearby??

Maybe I should change Kona Cafe to the whole meal. I looked closer at the menu and it looks yummy. Whats the point of eating TS at MK then heading over to sit down for dessert!! Anyone been there to know how long I should plan? We currently have an 8:35 and Wishes is at 10... Should I move it to 7:30 or is that too early?? I don't mind having time to browse the hotel if needed but I don't want to be late to the show!

I feel MUCH better about 'Ohanas! I think you're right... I'm just getting anxious about the trip. Seems to be happening to a lot of us. I'm so ready to just be there and not worry about any of this (but on the other hand, what are we going to do when we have nothing left to plan????)

Oh, I'd love to hear what you think on both Ohana and on Kona!!

BTW, I love your itinerary chart! Mine is so plain... I might need to spruce it up now!!

In your document book, look on the back of the page that has the floor plan of MCO airport. If there are bar codes there for your whole group you are good. If not they will send you a ME book with vouchers in it.

In the end you really don't even need the vouchers, you can check in at the ME desk if you don't receive them.

Yes, there are bar codes in the back. Thank you! :) I think we are good to go!

Sorry guys, I haven't been on here lately.......

Just wanted to let everyone know that I had to put my loving Rusty kitty down on Friday morning. He was 14 years old and a diabetic so for him to live as long as he did was good. He was there when Victoria was a baby and used to sleep in her crib. He saw me through my abusive marriage, moving, my dad's death, my memere's death, meeting Peter and trying the squeeze his way in between Peter and I for his spot in bed. I loved him so so much!

I'm so sorry about your kitty ((hug))

Checking in kinda late in the game. . . no way can I read through all these. . .

We will be at POR 8/27 through 9/2. Checking in four weeks from today! Can't wait!!

I'll come back later to add our ADR and park info. :)

Don't worry about catching up - just jump right in right now. The way we gab, there's no beginning, middle, or end in sight..

I just found out Country Bears is closed for Refurb during our visit. That stinks. I know this sounds stupid but I love this show for may reasons. I remember going to Disney in the early 70's and my grandma always loved that show. Every year we would visit her and go to Disney she would always tell us she wanted to see the Bears so ever since we have been going I take my wife and kids and walk down memory lane. I know for most of you it is like who cares but that show has an emotional tie for me. I also love to sing along with the music. I look forward to seeing it next year

I'm bummed. We skipped this on our last trip and I had planned to do it this trip. Oh well :(

I'm hoping someone knows the answer to this because I did a search and can't seem to find it.....

We already have 7 day Park Hopper Magic Your Way Tickets as part of our package. We are thinking of doing DisneyQuest on one or two of the days and possibly a water park (which we never do). From what I can see, the upgrade to a water park and more park hopper ticket for 7 days is a little more than $20/person over the 7 day Park hopper ticket on the Disney Web site. One admission to Disney Quest is almost $50/person at the door! Am I reading the prices correctly and is it possible to upgrade our tickets once we have checked in? I am assuming it's too late to do this from home as final payment has already been made.

Cheshire Figment (the ticket guru of the Dis) always recommends making sure you use one day on your ticket first, especially if you got it at a discount or before the latest price hike. And yes, the PH + WPF&M combo is now just $79 (with one of the options being $57). So if you have one, it doesn't cost much to upgrade to the other. I looked into it as I have WPF&M. But there's just no time for me to parkhop. So finally figured the extra $20+ pp is just not worth it, even though it's pretty cheap.

So I just got an ADR for Marrakesh at the same time as my Biergarten ADR. I'm going to talk to DH tomorrow but I'm thinking I'd rather go there... Any thoughts??

Just shared on Facebook, but want to share on here too! I made our family T shirts for Disney tonight. It ended up being super easy to do. I printed off Mickey and Minnie head outlines. Then, I used those as templates (see templates in 2nd pic) to draw outlines on our shirts with Sharpies. I also used foam letter stickers - the stickers made them really easy to use and one set could be re-applied multiple times and were sticky enough to use for all 4 shirts (and a lot of shifting around as I debated best positioning, etc).

I finally got the last of my projects done for this trip. Had to go to my sister's house to iron on the transfers for the kids shirts because I can't find my iron anywhere. DH asked me where was the last place I saw it and I had to admit that the last time I remember using it was to make a tee shirt for my son announcing my latest pregnancy. My girls are 2 1/2  guess that shows how often I iron clothes.
I ended up making luggage tags, tags for the kids pin lanyards, tie-dye mickey shirts, and name shirts for the kids.

Now that that's all done I need to get my packing finished since we leave town on Thursday. :scared1:
