****OFFICIAL August, 2012 (PART 2)****

I feel like a minority on this thread because I do not read too many posts from my male friends. I am the only male at my office and it seems like I am one of the few males on the thread.

I am the one in my family that is the planner, scheduler and tour guide for our family. I love every aspect from planning on when we go to where we are going to eat and all points in between.

I listen to WDW today just about every day as well as getting my park music fix each day with D-COT and Mouse World Radio.

My wife and kids love Disney but my wife said she does not need to seek help for her love like I do! She loves to go and so do my kids but they leave all the work for me which is a labor of love.

Any guys out there can relate? If so would love to hear from you.

Stan's around here somewhere. STAN?! STAN?! :goodvibes

Will you marry me?
No, seriously, I am the planner in our family, by default cuz no one else will do it. My DH gets up each and every morning on our vacations, and says, "so, what are we doing today?" But, hey, he pays, so I can't complain.
Like I always tell our kids, if it weren't for me, we WOULDN'T go, if it weren't for your dad, we COULDN'T go. But I must admit, my DD is starting to take after me.

I'm one of your male friends! I also love every aspect of the planning and listen to WDW today every night that they put up a new podcast I get my Disney park music on Radio 365. I'm also in the box just about every Wednesday on WDW radio on UStream.

My wife on the other hand is not a Disney fan at all. Last year around this time I had our August trip for the four of us all planed out and paid for, then my DW and younger DD told me they did not want to go and won't be going. So just my older DD and I went and we had the time of our lives and that's why it's just the two of us again this year. I still love my DW very much and this August 1st will be our 20th wedding anniversary.

I hear ya about the finance worries:rolleyes:....it sounds like you truly need a vacation, but you certainly cant do anything thats gonna bite u in the butt at the end of the day. It sounds like your worry is overpowering your excitement for your trip. But we can only do what we can do and unfortunately sometimes life gets in the way of our fun, doesnt it. I hope everything works out for you. I cant tell you how many times "ive been there".:grouphug: Hugs to you-everything will work out in the end. Theres my dose of positivity for the week for what its worth:flower3:

I feel ya! I'm so stressed about money. When we booked the trip in January, we were on a cute little budget. And around May it went out the window. But I didn't cancel the trip because I wAnt it so bad. I know it will work out and be fine, but there won't be another Disney trip for awhile! :(. Everyday I think about canceling, even though now I can't. I would never do it. But i think about it. We are 28 days out And I can only imagine the anxiety that will ensue.

I hope I am doing this correctly. I will be staying at coronado springs from 8/24-9/3 with DW(Melsbells) DD(9) and DD(7)

Here are the parks we will be in and our ads:

8/25 ep La Hacienda (7:30pm)
8/26 mk Narcoossee’s (9:10pm)
8/27 ak Ohana (8:15pm)
8/28 hs 50’s (6:40pm)
8/29 mk Cinderella (9:25am) Crystal Palace (8:15pm)
8/30 ep Le Cellier (2:10pm)
8/31 ak/hs Tusker (8:10am) Brown Derby (7:45pm)
9/1 ep Le Chefs (7:10pm)
9/2 mk The Plaza (6:30pm)

When you get to WDW let your anxiety go and have fun. The trip will probably be the best money you have spent since it seems as though you need a vacation and want this vacation.

I plan every part of our trip. I have a hard time getting my wife to make an adr. Even if I give her the time and the restaurant

Last night I listened to the jungle cruise queue music 2 times. That was after listening to as much of the Be our Guest live 12 hour podcast as I could. I listen to about 15 different podcasts, and they don't update fast enough.

I check the crowd calendar a couple times a week. I also check wait times all the time. Splash mountain has a 65 min wait right now.

I have never been to DCA but I could tell you every ride and how to get around the park.

My wife is coming around but I have gone to a new level of crazy with it. You are definitely not alone. :thumbsup2

What podcasts do you listen to? I'm trying to find some good ones for the drive down. I also don't have a lot of Disney music on MP3. They are all on tapes from when I was little. I hate having to buy the soundtracks all over again. Is there a 'radio station' where they stream Disney music like Pandora? Although I could do without anything Miley Cyrus and the like. :rotfl2:

Other than WDW today what other podcasts do you like? I forgot about that yesterday Be OUR Guest live podcast.

I am going to listen to WDW Today Live show this Sunday and I think am I am going to try and call in. I have listened to them for many years but never have called in. I would like to go to their meets and even thought of going solo when they have them because my family could care a less.

Great to meet you. Happy Anniversary. If my wife and kids did not want to go then I know I would be going solo. I could not keep myself from going.

:welcome: to the newbies! Love Stan's description of our not so little group!!

Have to say that I belong to the "My MIL (or Mother) stresses me out" club. The latest for me is my MIL & SIL both called DH for his birthday on the 20th. SIL even posted 3 different times on FB saying how she was the first to wish him a happy birthday. Two days later, on the 22nd, my 2nd son turned 15. Phone didn't ring, nothing on FB. Monday the 23rd, same thing. Tuesday the 24th DH called both and asked if they had trouble getting through. Apparently SIL was too busy and MIL forgot. If that wasn't bad enough, DH reminded her that my 3rd son's bday is in August and she asked which kid it was. Seriously? DH said "You remember I have 4 boys, right?" and she said she can't remember their names. :crazy2:

OK, all caught up. Gotta get ready to watch the opening ceremony of the Olympics later!

My hubby and I are the opposite. But he loves that I plan. He was actually just praising my extreme planning the other day to a friend. A friend, his wife and kids went to WDW and didn't plan?! :confused3 They complained about the price of food and they didn't understand the fast pass system and just went around and got lots not realizing they were voiding their first ones so they spent all day in lines and not happy campers. They also thought Epcot was boring?!? Granted they were with their kids but this couple is two of the biggest drinkers I've ever met. I don't think I've ever spoken to them sober so I thought for sure they'd be all about drinking around the world but maybe they don't do that with their kids, who knows. Still....they made it sound awful and then DH went in about how much planning i was doing and how I have crowd calendars, reservations already and a certian board addiction.... :rotfl2: Not sure what the response was but I'm sure it stopped whatever WDW bashing the guy was doing. I think that's proof that going in without a plan can make or break a vacation.

Yay! Thanks!! I am trying to stream 365 at work now and its not working....I guess I should probably work.... :p

OM Goodness- I can kinda relate on "Mom Madness" I adore my mother, but Ive been living with her since February and I swear shes driven me a little batty. Fortunately, I have finally found a place in the school district where my daughter needs to be, so we are finally moving next week! (can I get an Amen:littleangel:) My mom's one of "those" moms who's frequently heard saying, you know what your problem is, Penny..?" or "THIS is what you need to do". LOL, She's right, Im wrong, lolol. ;)
AMEN!:littleangel:

lol....it feels good to belong! :cool1: even under those circumstances :lmao: .

In all seriousness....misery does love company.....and how nice to know "I'm not the only one"!!

I'm glad I'm not the only one, too! My mom and I used to be very close, but my dad died 7 years ago and my mom has changed since then. In a lot of ways I feel like I lost both my parents when my dad died.

Anyway, still no DME tags for me. I talked to my TA and she told me to give them a call on Monday if they aren't here by then. So that's the plan. I've been prepping for our garage sale all day, and the sale itself is tomorrow. So I'm on a little break from my obsessive planning/analyzing/list making.

How's the weather where everyone else is? We finally got a break in the awful heat/humidity here in MN and it feels FABULOUS outside!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!
