****OFFICIAL August, 2012 (PART 2)****

Seems a lot of people got lost on the resort list.

Here are our dates again.....

8/28-9/4 POR

Added all of you :)

This is a new list I just created. I know many of you posted your resorts in the old thread over the course of 100++ pages - but unfortunately, it's just too much to sift through so please re-post your resort info here in this thread.

I will do my best to keep the thread updated - but sometimes it takes me a day or two. I try not to let it go too long though - last night when I worked on it I had 24 hours of resort and park days to update and it took over 2 hours *yikes*!

Happy DISmeets! (and there sure are a LOT of POR folks in Team August)

You are doing a great job! My head is spinning :rotfl:

Going shopping today! Trying to scoop up some tank tops and sun dresses on clearance, if there are any left. The fall stuff all rolled out here right after the 4th of July. It's hard to find any summer things now, we have to dig. Fall comes early in the Pacific Northwest. We had a cold front move through a couple of days ago, I was in jeans and Uggs yesterday.

Fall doesn't come as early here in NC, but the stores have the Fall stuff out. Of course, I am needing shorts, and I am hard to fit.

I hope you find some great stuff on your shopping trip.

Have fun shopping! I can't believe you were in Uggs!

It's a little chillier and overcast here in NJ today- perfect day to clean out the garage and get ready for a yard sale that will hopefully make us some Disney money! :)

Happy to add everyone, so keep posting and I will sit down and do a big edit later today.

Oh my! I missed the wearing Uggs part. It is July, it is supposed to be hot! I don't do well with the cold.

Last year, I waited until the week before our honeymoon (we were married on August 13 and left for St Maarten on August 20) I got a few sundresses from Macy's and one from Kohls (it was a little nicer than a sundress). I also got shorts and shirts for DH at Target and shorts and shirts at Pac Sun and some other random places. All together, I may have spent $150 for everything. The clothes are there, you just have to look through the rummage lol. Good luck!

Idk if you are by the parkway, but we were going north by exit 131 and there was just back to back traffic going south. Even at 11:30 people were still trying to get to the beach lol

I know even if you pre-order the regular photopass, there is a long window of time to cancel for a full refund...even after you have taken the pics. (No refunds if you pre-order Photopass+ though)

As for your "sharing" on FB suggestion...that could well work. It's new and honestly I didn't research it much other than take vague note of it as I wanted the CD - I use it for making photobooks of our trip.
According to the Q&A you don't have to pay for them to take your pictures or to look at your pictures. Only if you order it does it cost money. Or am I reading that wrong?

Here is what it says:
"Q. How do I get a Disney's PhotoPass card? Is there a charge?
A. You can get a card from any Disney's PhotoPass photographer. They can be found all around the Parks, and there is no charge to get the card or to have your picture taken in the Parks. Online registration is required to view and order photos."

And registration is free because I registered last night. So I thought as long as i can view and share the photos they take I don't want to bother ordering a CD i will just get a print of one or two that i like. Maybe I should email them and ask or ask on another board. I just thought you guys would know.
:)

Ooh, that'd be awesome! The only ones I have at work are the cheap plastic nametag holders. I'm really looking for one with a zipper so I don't have to worry about things falling out of it.

I stopped in my office after the farmer's market this morning and looked around...couldn't find any. I am betting if we had any leftovers they got thrown away when we moved offices in May. Sorry! :-\

Who is doing photo pass? I was considering a share on another board but I am apprehensive about sending my money to a stranger and them having control of my photos online. I have a great camera and CM have taken some great pics with it so I hesitate to spend the $. Last time we had 8-10 pics on photo pass cards. Iseem to never see PP CM and I have never seen in any trip thise special magic shots. I think many of them I have seen of other families are not great anyway.

I have already ordered my photo pass +. We are there Aug 5-11. I think we over lap some days. You can PM me if you want to talk about sharing.

Thank you so much!!! I some how missed then when they were originally posted. :goodvibes

Do you have any other fun summer or vacation plans coming up this year?

Well, my sweetie and I are going to the Dominican Republic on the 1st through the 6th, so that is definitely something fun to look forward to. Then of course there's Disney at the end of August. At some point I'm betting that we'll be going to San Francisco on an apartment-hunting mission because it's very possible he's about to take a job there.

Then right after Labor Day we're going to see Madonna at Yankee Stadium. :cool1: I'm kinda excited about that one.

And while I'm excited, this one isn't really summer, but it has its own countdown (119 days!)...in November he's taking me to Buenos Aires (where he's originally from). VERY excited about that because I've never been to South America! :woohoo:

Question for everyone.....

Do you buy trip insurance? Why or why not?

I always have until this trip. I started to question my decision when TS Debby hit FL in June. But my husband said, "Well, you know you are going to go anyway! You wouldn't cancel because of a storm." Which is probaby true. haha
So, I save the $100-something for souveniers. Hopefully we will not have needed it!

We are a lot farther south. The traffic is crazy in town today because people are still coming down! :headache: I think tomorrow will be a nice beach day.:beach:

Question for everyone.....

Do you buy trip insurance? Why or why not?

It depends on the trip and the cost.

Our trip in December 2010, CL TPV, we did buy insurance.

This trip in August, we didn't buy insurance.

Our cruise in October of 2013, we did buy insurance.

Luckily, we have never had to use it.
