I'm new to the August board so I'm just gonna jump in if it's okay!
Annual summer vacation trip! Yeah! Me and DD (8). We will be staying at Port Orleans French Quarter. 1st time at a moderate resort so we are super excited! 8 days! August 11 - August 18, 2011. Can't wait, can't wait!

Okay - my first post on this side of the board! I am a long time DL veteran who just booked my first trip ever to WDW! I am going with a good friend (also a DL veteran) and her family! Apparently since we have 9 people total in the group, we qualify for the Grand Gathering. Not really sure what all that includes since we are newbies to WDW so will be hanging out here to do some research.

My plans have changed a lot, so hopefully 8/28-9/3 will be my disney vacation!!!!

Hi All! We're going to be staying offsite at Windsor Hills Resort August 6-13. We are so excited!! Our last trip was in 2008. Although we aren't doing a full WDW trip, we'll get to see the World a couple days during our trip!

Hello All!

We are going for two weeks in June/July - and getting APs - and then I am going to have the "Year of Disney!"

My next trip is August 26 - Sept 4 - and this time I am leaving the family at home and going to the world with a Disney crazy girl friend. I have never done an adults only or a girls week at Disney! So very excited.

We are staying at POP Aug 28 - Sept 4 -- and I am not sure about Friday and Saturday at the beginning of the trip. Probably somewhere inexpensive on Friday night since it's a travel day - either off site - or a different value. And then we are looking at Yacht Club or Boardwalk - maybe even club level - just for Saturday night.

I am pondering the idea of doing pre-trip reports - but I am worried about my follow through

okay! it is official-- i booked my southwest tickets! 8/24-8/30!!!!

only 199!!!! how can you beat that?!

now i just have to adjust my reservation

The kids are so excited (me too!). Plane tickets are bought, our WDW package (hotel, tix and QSDP) is booked and half paid off and we are counting down the days.

So glad you are going! I saw your post in another thread awhile ago that you couldn't get the time off to go when you originally wanted, but I thought it was so nice that you are doing this trip in memory of your mom.
I have some wonderful Disney memories of my mom, and also lost her way too soon. Best of luck for your trip!

We will be at the Swan from the 9th to 15th, then switching over the BLT from the 15th to the 21st. Can't wait!!!!

The Screams were from my niece and her BFF last weekend. My niece asked if she could invite her friend to go on our trip this year. I had to ponder and so they waited patiently (and made secret packing lists). I asked BFF's mom last week and she was thrilled to say yes. Before our outing to the zoo last Saturday, the girls received an invitation from our "Trip Fairy", who tends to all the plans for the Gathering of the Princesses. Once they realized what it was, the screams began! I am delighted to have Princess Elizabeth join us on our trip!

Oh, and by the way, I'm doing the Double Digits Dance!!!
