So now we're throwing around different dates to switch to in August. Our oldest daughter starts kindergarten this year, and our dates now may or may not fall on her kindergarten orientation. UGH...they don't tell you the date until the 2nd-3rd week of August I found out yesterday, but is usually the week before school starts. And currently our trip ends mid-week, the week before school starts.

All I can think of...is how am I going to be able to get good ADR's now!?! haha

Hi Dolfinjuls - we were both part of the July thread last year! I'm going with friends Aug 4-10 and we'll be at POR! My younger DD just found out she will be a Character Performer as part of the WDW College Program from June - January!! She is so excited!

Well as of right now nothing for the public. Visa cardholders were just offered an extended kids play & dine free. But of course everyone is still dreaming of free dining being offered. The thread in the resorts section said it is rumored to be announced on may 3rd I believe. Fingers crossed!

Thanks! No, we went on a Carnival cruise (our very 1st cruise) and it went to Half Moon Cay, Bahamas and Nassau, Bahamas. It was so much fun, and the water was gorgeous. *Almost* made me cxl my Disney trip and do a 7 night cruise instead, but instead I shortened my Disney trip to 5 days and booked a 4 day cruise back to the Bahamas following our 5 days at Disney. Never thought I'd find a vacation that competed with Disney in my book, but that definitely came close!

We enjoy cruising too. DH and I will be off to Alaska in July after cruising Mexico a number of times, once on the Magic! DD's dream is to be a cast member on a Disney ship so we are thinking more Disney cruises may be in store for us! Do try cruising with Disney - it was a wonderful experience almost like living in Disneyland 24/7!!

I was waiting for free dining- just made the ressie this morning! We (DD15 and I) will be at POP 8/17/10 -8/26/10, with free dining!!

Not to bring the craziness of the Free Dining convo here! However, I have a quick question! (Spare me as this is my first ever time doing all this planning!)
I'm part of the general public crowd who (hopefully!) gets in with all the FD action on Monday. We've already booked at POR w/ DDP for 8/17-8/23--any ideas if we're going to have any problems just adding the FD to our plan without having to change resorts?
Also, how can I figure out what we will be saving? ( 2 Adults, 7 days MYW tickets w/ Park Hopper)

If we get the news we need to change resorts-any suggestions on which Moderate to stay at if we can get in!?
Ahhh! The confusion!!!!! I think I'll be able to sleep better once I get this FD thing down!

Can't help you with resort availability. That will just be the luck of the draw I'm afraid.

However, what you save is $41.99 per adult per hotel night for the dining plan.

If POR is booked, try the French Quarter.
