***Official August 2010 Thread!! Come Join Us In The Countdown!*****

Is Toon Town already closed? This is serious stuff.

Everything was still open and untouched when I was there in May. Most of the construction right now is happening "behind the scenes". You can see it if you take the train from Frontierland to the ToonTown station. Not really a big deal, but I also keep waiting for them to shut stuff down. Probably right before we get there in August!!:scared1:

There is an opening for Aug 7 - 14 for the Pay It Forward BOX swap at Pop.

If you're staying at Pop come check our thread out. It a fun way to guarantee Pixie Dust for your trip!

I would really like to take my daughter one last time to see Mickey and Minnie's houses before they re-locate and/or change them. I heard they were not going to eliminate the houses, but I wouldn't be surprised if they change them. Mickey had a completely different house (and car) when it was Mickey's Birthday Land.

At least I can look forward to seeing the revamped Small World when we go back down for Thanksgiving.

So far we have no ADR's, but I do want at least 1 CB. I've never been in mid August before, but in the past I've had luck getting last minute ADR's while ON property. Is mid August as crowded as July or Spring Break.... please say no....!:crowded:

My wife and I are going 8/15 - 8/19 for the Star Wars Convention, staying at Carribean Beach :yay:

Are you guys going to the Last Tour to Endor party at DHS?? Muy husband and I will be there for the party!! :)

Last Tour To Endor party? :confused3 what is up? I know the ride is going down for updating but is it going down during my visit? 8/11-8/19?

Oh wow...I hadn't heard about this! I wonder if my husband would be interested...

I just looked at the link. Its $75.00 and runs from 8pm to 1am. Too late to drag Heidi to it, so we'll have to pass. Max might be interested, but then we'd have to drive an hour to the college to pick him up and then take him back on Sunday. I'll talk to him about it. I THINK, but am not sure how this works, that park admission at 4pm is included in the $75.00 ticket. I don't think he'd need a regular day ticket for DHS, since it says park admission begins at 4. So that to me implies that if you have a ticket, you can get in to the park at 4pm. Right?

DBF and I are staying offsite :sad2: (doing both IOA/US and Epcot/DHS, so makes no sense to stay on property) from Aug 19-25th!

I am so excited to be back....We are going to be staying at POR from 8/15-8/21. We are celebrating my anniversary with the DH (our second trip....we went for our honeymoon in 2008) and also we are treating my bestfriend/sister for her birthday. It is her first trip and she has done so much for us that she really deserves it. We are so excited and getting to plan a new disney trip is making my whole world brighter...:cool1:

Joining!!! We are booked at POP 8/10-8/21 with a Grand Gathering. :cool1::cool1:

Maybe we'll see you. We're staying at the Pop 8/11-8/19!!

Who is coming on your Grand Gathering? What are you celebrating. It can be so much fun. We had one in during Spring Break when we brought my son and his twin friends and their family because they all made Eagle Scout together. We stayed at SSR in a 2 bedroom villa. We were 9, but other family members joined us for the birthday of their younger son and we had 15 for dinner at T Rex. It was so much fun. The restaurant was excellent, we had 2 waitpersons working together. The manager Dawn there is wonderful! I highly recommend it. They did a great job. With all those people they got everything right!. :cool1:

On this trip, we're bringing my son to college (Florida Tech) which is nearby, so after we finish the parent program, we decided it was a great time to enjoy Disney is a relaxed less frantic pace since it'll just be me, DH and DD8. :dance3:
